In memory: John Stephenson, Generation 1 Thundercracker & The Flintstones' Mr Slate
Posted by News Fetcher on May 17 '15 at 02:00 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
It saddens us to bring you the news that the voice actor John Stephenson has passed at the age of 91. Mr Stephenson had been suffering from declining health due for a number of years, and Alzheimer's. Sadly, he passed away on Friday.

Mr Stephenson had an impressive career spanning over half a century, both as an "on-screen" actor and also for his voiceover work. One of his most famous roles was of the voice of Fred Flintstones' boss, Mr Slate, in The Flintstones. To Transformers fans, he will be remembered as the voice of several characters from the original Generation 1 series, including Thundercracker, Kup, and Alpha Trion.

Please view the original report of Mr Stephenson's passing at News From Me. You can view a full list of roles Mr Stephenson is credited with at the IMDB.

New Images Of Megatronus And Optimus Prime From Transformers: Robots In Disguise Animated Series
Posted by News Fetcher on May 16 '15 at 11:00 PM
By C310 Ginrai from TFW2005:
Thanks to Autobas Aichi via Facebook, we have new images of Optimus Prime and Megatronus's appearance in the ongoing series Robot in Disguise. These images provides us with a first look at Megatronus' on screen appearance in the show, as well as Optimus Prime donning his Clash of Transfomers Armor.

As we said before, this is the first appearance of Megatronus after his debut in the Transformers: Robots In Disguise Mobile Game. Also, Megatronus seems to be carrying a weapon with a striking resemblance to the weapon The Fallen had on the Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. That particular weapon was known as the Command Staff in the said continuity. This begs the question, "Is this Megatronus... The Fallen?".

Another very important fact is that Optimus Prime now sports his Clash Of Transformers toy look (as revealed on the Transformers: Robots In Disguise App Update Version 1.2). This further clarifies the upcoming subline which is currently in the rumor status until officially revealed (or leaked).

It is unclear which episode these frames will appear in, but be sure to check back for more update. Before that happens though, check out that images and share your thoughts after the break.

Unique Toys Reveals Y-02 Runman!
Posted by News Fetcher on May 16 '15 at 08:30 AM
By Calabask from TFW2005:
AND BOOM! Do you hear that? Because that sounds like someone breaking the sound barrier... Or, perhaps an explosion, followed by someone breaking the sound barrier. In this case it appears to be Runman, Unique Toys take on what might be their Masterpiece version of Blurr whom was spotted by the eagle eyed TFW2005 user, Cheem The Rup on the Weibo of The Unique Toys Club. Which also provided us with out first looks of their versions of Cutthroat and Abominus. This figure is apart of their "Y" Series, which seems like it might indeed be where their masterpiece styled figures shall be placed in. Also of note is the fact that their version of Blurr will also be coming with his Targetmaster, Haywire. Unfortunately, as of this writing we are unsure of the name analog they will be using for Haywire, but we'll keep you updated. Now, go check out the pictures of the speedster, and see if you can outmatch his pace in words per minute in the discussion!

TFW's Combiner Wars Hot Spot In-Hand Gallery
Posted by News Fetcher on May 15 '15 at 02:16 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Our next new Transformers toy gallery is giving some love to the Combiner Wars Voyager class wave 3, and the Protectobot Hot Spot! A new mold, Voyager class entry into the Combiner Wars line, Hot Spot is the leader of the Protectobots and forms the torso of the giant, Defensor!

Hot Spot's fire engine mode is pretty cool. It's a more modern take of the original with its curved front end and updated ladder design. One flaw is that the robot mode hips are expose in this mode - but given the transformations, there is not a lot that can be done to hide them, really. The robot mode is nice and solid - while it lacks a waist joint, there are lots of cool poses you can get out of Hot Spot, and his robot mode design nicely recalls the original toy, while bringing some new stuff to the table. The twin rifles can be combined into a single larger gun, although there's no real way to escape the fact that, yes, he's basically just got two guns plugged into the end of each other in this configuration.

Overall, Hot Spot is a solid figure to round out a fun classics-style Combiner group. He makes for potentially the best torso in the line yet, but we'll go into more detail on that side of things soon. For now, enjoy the gallery of this hot new Voyager class offering:

FansWantIt Accessory Sets for Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime
Posted by News Fetcher on May 15 '15 at 02:01 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Via OscarFung on Weibo, we have a look at an upcoming release from FansWantIt. The group which has specialized in add-ons for the Movie series Transformers are continuing their trend with their fifth set. FWI-5 according to these images of unpainted prototypes looks to be a selection of weapons for the Movie series Optimus Prime toys, including a pair of swords, a pair of shields, and various blasters. They look to be scaled with the Voyager class molds, rather than the larger, Leader class releases.

Fans Want It have also teased that there are two more related sets in the works - one of which may be a version of Optimus Prime's trailer from Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Watch this space for more information.

Robots in Disguise Titan Changers Official Images
Posted by News Fetcher on May 15 '15 at 01:45 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
The Titan series of Transformers releases continues to grow and diversify, with the latest series being "Titan Changers". The Titan Changers, which were first announced back in March at the Australian Toy Fair, are Titans that transform - they are the Action Master Elites to the regular Titan figures' Action Masters. Via the Mexican Hasbro Transformers site, we have official images of both the Optimus Prime and the Bumblebee who are presently the only two known releases in this series.

They feature very simplified transformations along with limited articulation, however they are big and are good entry-level transforming toys for younger fans. They are already out in Hong Kong, so a US release is unlikely to be far off.
