On January 10th, Hasbro tweeted a wish to Julian Edelman of New England Patriots for their playoff game with Seattle Seahawks.

Hasbro attached an image featuring a modified Transformers: Robots In Disguise Warrior Class Bumblebee with the tweet (included with this news post). The modification was a tribute to Minitron; Julian Edelman's nickname given by Tom Brady.

2005 Boards Member benclark1982 is bringing us a news related to the said figure. On January 23rd, Hasbro has applied for a new Transformers Trademark for the title "Minitron" at the United States Patent & Trademark Office.

Under the Trademark ID 86512239, the description is as follows:

"Toys, games and playthings, namely, toy vehicles and accessories for use therewith; toy action figures and accessories for use therewith; toy playsets for use in connection with toy action figures and toy vehicles; toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual toy forms; toy robots; dolls; electronic action toys; mechanical toys; toy construction sets; building toys; jigsaw puzzles; board games; parlor games; action skill games; card games; role-playing games; trading card games; hand held units for playing electronic games other than those adapted for use with an external display screen or monitor; target games; dice games"

Art Storm EX Gokin Arcee and Elita-1
Posted by News Fetcher on February 08 '15 at 04:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Via Autobase Aichi on Facebook, we have a look at two new EX Gokin releases coming soon from Art Storm. The pair are Arcee and Elita-1, and like Art Storm's previous EX Gokin Alpha Trion release, they are non-transforming poseable figures based on the original Generation 1 animation models. Both feature alternate heads - Arcee's sports her "binocular visor" seen during the "Attack on Autobot City" scene from Transformers The Movie.

Autobase Aichi's gallery also includes a fresh look at other items on display at the Winter Wonder Festival 2015, including the ES Gokin Convoy and Rodimus figures, the D-Style releases from Kotobukiya, and the Prime-1 Studios statues.

Kotobukiya D-Style Black Convoy and Starscream Announced
Posted by News Fetcher on February 08 '15 at 01:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Kotobukiya have announced another pair of releases in their D-Style Transformers lineup. The first of the pair is only announced via artwork right now, but is a D-Style version of Starscream! If he is like previous releases, expect him to be quite poseable, but non-transforming, and including some accessories based on his TV appearance including a small accessory of his vehicle mode.

Also announced - and shown as a color prototype - is a D-Style Black Convoy. As is the tradition, this is a black repaint of the previous D-Style Convoy figure, and he bears a Decepticon brand - so that's three D-Style Decepticons to one Autobot thus far! The placard with him mentions he will be released in 2015 - our betting is he'll come out before Starscream arrives.

Jeff Kline Interview Part II - Transformers: Robots In Disguise Show Premises, Crew And More
Posted by News Fetcher on February 07 '15 at 10:15 PM
By SilverOptimus from TFW2005:
Unicron.com has published the second part of their interview with Jeff Kline; the executive producer of Transformers: Robots In Disguise. On this interview, he mentions several things regarding the decision to move the show to Cartoon Network, the crew, the animation and the Premises of the show.

"The motivation behind moving robots in disguise to cartoon network was to put the series in front of more eyeballs right out of the gate; CN is on more cable systems across America than discovery family. But, I have yet heard what its timeslot will be."

"Robots In Disguise is definitely a lighter, more comedic take on the transformers universe. There's no ancient war being fought, meaning we can actually take the time to set-up a joke, and not feel guilty about it. Bee is front and center. Optimus' status is more mysterious than sorrowful. And there's a younger, more inexperienced (aka less battle-weary) cast of characters.

***

Lighter. Brighter. Even a little goofier. 'Cuz we've always viewed the Autobots (and Decepticons) as people, not machines. And people are funny!"

"Visually, the series is absolutely pushing the boundaries of what is technologically possible when mixing 3D characters with 2D backgrounds. Once again, we're doing all the design work, all the storyboards, etc. In-houseā€¦ but partnering with our pals at Polygon for the actual animation -- 'cuz those guys are the best there ever was..."

"The bulk of the Robots In Disguise team is the same as the Prime team. And that's by design. I have a very small "circle of trust"..."

Ypu can read the full interview with more details, at Unicron.com.

TFC Toys Old Time Series Hound Prototype Images
Posted by News Fetcher on February 07 '15 at 06:31 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Not to be outdone by Maktoys, TFC Toys have also released new images of their upcoming figure "Detective", which is their take on Generation 1 Autobot Hound, and is also through to be intended to fill in that Hound sized gap in your Masterpiece collections (at least until the official one comes along, Takara-Tomy willing).

These images show both the robot and alternate form of TFC's version of Hound. Additionally, courtesy of TFW2005 member Cheem the Rup, we have some useful comparison images of both the TFC and Maketoys takes on Hound. Check it all out attached to this post.

Maketoys Remaster Series Cupola (Chromedome) Prototype Images
Posted by News Fetcher on February 07 '15 at 06:15 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Maketoys have also released new images of their Remaster series Cupola, which is their Masterpiece flavored take on the Generation 1 Headmaster Autobot, Chromedome. This not-Chromedome stands 23cm tall, or just a shade over 9 inches - he's a big guy! The Headmaster is present, and the whole design is influenced not only by the Generation 1 toy, but also by the Japanese TV series, Transformers: The Headmasters, where Chromedome played a central role in the story.

Check out the new images attached to this post.

Maketoys Remaster Series Gun Dog (Hound) Prototype Images
Posted by News Fetcher on February 07 '15 at 06:15 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Maketoys have released some images of their Remaster series Gun Dog, aka an unofficial Autobot Hound. Judging by these images, we can get a flavor for the size of this figure, which according to Maketoys stands at approximately 16.5 centimeters tall, or around 6 1/2 inches. Based on the size and the design, it's looking like the Remaster series truly is Maketoys moving into the market for unlicensed Masterpiece style Transformers. The figure also features two slightly different robot modes, modern and classic mode, which presumably means one is a more modern take on the design while the other is closer to the feel of the original Generation 1 Hound toy.

Check out the images after the break!

Via @kamidukido on Twitter, we have a look at a limited run Transformers garage kit which is available at the Winter Wonderfest 2015 in Japan. This is a fully transformable resin kit of the Autobot Minerva from the Japanese series Chojin Masterforce. By accounts this will be quite a small figure, and it's one you need to assemble and paint yourself - therein lies the spirit of these limited run garage kits. She's also evidently got a great big mecha-longbow, which is definitely not from the original version!

Check out some images attached to this post and see what you think.
