Transformers: Generations Combiner Wars SUPERION In-Hand Images!
Posted by News Fetcher on December 06 '14 at 06:00 AM
By Mechafire from TFW2005:
Over the past week, we here at TFW2005 have reported on numerous galleries of Transformers: Generations Combiner Wars Wave 1 figures, courtesy of blacklai on TFND. And now... we get to the main event! That's right ladies an dgentlemen, for we now have a full gallery of Superion himself.

This gallery finally gives us a nice look at the big bot, showing him off in some cool poses. In addition, it appears that his joints are rather strong indeed - enough to engage in a number of crazy poses (like breakdancing), which should be a good sign for the line's combiner gimmick stability.

Check out TFW's selection of pics after the jump, and head over the TFND for the full gallery!

Transformers: Age Of Extinction Shortlisted For The Best Visual Effects Award At 2015 Oscars
Posted by News Fetcher on December 05 '14 at 11:45 PM
By SilverOptimus from TFW2005:
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science announced the top ten list for The Best Visual Effects award for 87th Academy Awards (2015 Oscars) yesterday.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is among the shortlist of movies which includes Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Godzilla and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. It's going to be a tough game since "Apes" seems to be leading the category. So at this point it seems we can't go bananas if the Robots lose to a bunch of monkeys... Apes, I mean Apes.

The shortlisted films are:

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Godzilla

Guardians of the Galaxy

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Interstellar

Maleficent

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb

Transformers: Age of Extinction

X-Men: Days of Future Past

Age of Extinction Packaging Concept Art From Gregory Titus Illustration
Posted by News Fetcher on December 05 '14 at 12:00 PM
By Matty from TFW2005:
A very cool piece of news to share with you today coming via Gregory Titus Illustration. On top of the massive amount of infomation of the behind the scenes work that went into the packaging and art design of the Age of Extinction toy line, we have a first look at the package art for Junkheap and Vehicon as well as sketches for the robot modes of Slug and Scorn, which were originally going to be used for the packaging. On top of all that, there are also sketches of alternate character poses and slightly different character designs as well.

From the Gregory Titus Illustration page:

This project was an absolute monster. Pilot was brought in about 18 months before the movie came out. Though well into the design phase of all the Transformers characters, none were completed. We were working with concepts, designs, information, and deadlines that were constantly changing. It was an amazing challenge that we all rose to in typical Pilot fashion. We were brought in for everything, a total overhaul and rebrand of a toy line plagued with different packaging styles for a decade. We were tasked with uniting them under a single, new, and simplified Transformers banner and provide all designs and illustrations to go with it.

Be sure to check out the full gallery here and hit the discussion link below to share your thoughts.

Rescue Bots Season 3 episodes 10 and 11 details and another double-bill!
Posted by News Fetcher on December 04 '14 at 04:15 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
MSN have updated their episode guide for Transformers Rescue Bots with details of the next two episodes - and we also have confirmation of another double-bill of new episodes!

First off, the double-bill - starting at 1pm EST on 13 December 2014 there will be a double-bill of new Rescue Bots episodes! The delayed season 2 episode "Riders of Midwinter" will air in an earlier 1pm EST timeslot on the Discovery Family Channel, and will swiftly be followed up by the all-new episode Switcheroo at 1:30 EST!

The two weeks that follow will bring two more all-new episodes - episodes 10 and 11 of season 3 (or 9 and 10, since there is some question of whether Riders of Midwinter is counted as season 3 now. The TV listing sites count it, so we're going by their numbering for the sake of consistency)

Those new episodes are:

S3 E10 Bot-Tastic Voyage
Airs December 20, 2014

S3 E11 Quarry's Quarry
Airs December 27, 2014

No descriptions for those as yet - but be sure to tune in to the Discovery Family Channel every Saturday at 1:30 PM EST for new Rescue Bots episodes all through December (with that double bill on 13 December starting from 1pm EST)

Transformers: Legends Game Event - Belly Of The Beast
Posted by News Fetcher on December 03 '14 at 05:45 PM
By SilverOptimus from TFW2005:
The next DeNA Transformers: Legends event is now live.

During the last battle to save Cybertron from the monstrous UNICRON, two groups search for their allies. The DECEPTICON force, led by SHOCKWAVE, search for their new leader, GALVATRON. Meanwhile, ARCEE and DANIEL, separated from the AUTOBOTS, make their way through the bowels of their gigantic foe, hoping to find DANIEL’S father and their friends.

As they continue their exploration, the two groups happen upon each other, and quickly prepare their weapons. But before either side can fire a shot, CYCLONUS and SCOURGE are attacked by UNICRON’S internal defenses. RATBAT barely manages to escape their fate, and attempts to free his allies while his AUTOBOT foes are busy defending themselves from the same robotic arms.

Will ARCEE and DANIEL find their friends before it’s too late? Can the DECEPTICONS survive long enough to escape from the depths of UNICRON? Find out on TRANSFORMERS Legends: “Belly of the Beast”!

Arcee and Daniel available on the Episode Spacebridge.
Top Reward Card : Shockwave

- This week’s event is based on the original Transformers animated movie (1986). The movie is available on DVD and Blu-ray from all major retailers.

Build notes:

Boss difficulties and payouts have been adjusted. The previous Raid Boss event was a major success and we hope you enjoyed the shower of Battle Cubes but we needed to dial this back as exploits have been discovered that allowed players to farm cubes at a much higher rate than intended.

The Battle Chest has undergone a slight revision. Players will need to purchase both the R6 and R5 episode cards in each chest before the next chest will unlock.
