In 1986, Transformers entered its third year and featured the debut of the first assortments of Transformers toys that had been designed specifically for the Transformers line, with characters like Hot Rod, Kup, Galvatron and Metroplex making their first appearance this year. The Transformers comics continued strongly with the introduction of the RAAT and a crossover with G.I. Joe in the USA, and in the UK, a classic story, Target 2006. And on August 8, 1986, Transformers arrived on the big screen for the first time with Transformers the Movie - and a generation of children were shocked for life as they learned that sometimes, even heroes die.Read Replies (0)

Jagex are at The Gadget Show Live in Birmingham in the UK this week through Sunday with their Transformers MOTA (Massive Online Tactical Action). We stopped by to check out the game, which is looking very slick and promises to be a lot of fun when it launches this summer.
What we thought might interest you would be a look at the cool artwork of the characters adorning Jagex's booth. Along with their own creations including Conduit and Duststorm, it might interest you to know that the booth featured some new artwork for a few classic Transformers characters including Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee (we also think that you might be looking at Ratchet and possibly Arcee or Elita-1 in some of the other pieces)
We've also learned that the setting of the game has shifted - while at its inception, Transformers Universe was going to be a part of the Aligned Continuity with Transformers Prime and the War for Cybertron series, it is now a separate entity all of its own under the Transformers Generations banner (hence the reinterpretation of some classic characters)
The team at Jagex are very excited for the game and have a lot of cool stuff in store to reveal going forward - so be sure to keep eyes on our site right here and the Transformers Universe homepage
for more information.Read Replies (0)

Hat tip goes out to TFW2005 boards member captain N
for pointing us in the right direction to an Amazon listing
for Transformers Cybertron: The Complete Series. Shout Factory is making a push to have this series released on DVD this August 5th at an MSRP of $44.99, but you can pre-order it now on Amazon for around $31!
The Cybertron DVD news was first reported by TVShowsOnDvd.com
, which they've also pointed out the Amazon listing currently states the product is for "The Complete Series," though that could just be an Amazon glitch. They were able to grab a screen shot earlier with the listing stating is was indeed for Transformers Cybertron.
Will you be purchasing the final arc of the Unicron Trilogy? Sound off after the jump!Read Replies (0)
