Post TFcon Third Party Roundup
Posted by News Fetcher on July 13 '14 at 02:45 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
As TFcon concludes today, we take a quick moment to round up some of the other third party items that were revealed this week but not shown off at TFcon:

Mecha Form, who are making one of the third party Skyfires, have thrown their hat into the dino robot ring and announced their own plans to make unofficial Dinobots. Kicking off are Gunk, Sneer and Plunge, who are unlicensed takes on Sludge, Snarl and Swoop. They will also be making a version of the character Paddles, a Pleisiosaur Dinobot from the compilation book Transformers Legacy.

Beelzeboss will be releasing a Sword of Judgement keychain. Based on the sword Optimus Prime wields in Transformers: Age of Extinction, it can be taken off the keychain and used as a weapon for any Transformer with a 5mm handgrip.

X2 Toys were at TFcon, but have revealed some more on their version of the Impactor character, which they're calling Firing Pin, and an upgrade for Generations Orion Pax:

Before and After have also shown off one more future project at TFcon - a jumbo "Action Master" Devastator, based on the Generation 1 cartoon animation model.

Takara-Tomy Dinobot Micron Campaign Details
Posted by News Fetcher on July 13 '14 at 06:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Takara-Tomy have updated their Transformers prize campaign website with new images and details of the Transformers Dinobot Micron prize campaign.

The giveaway kicks off on July 19th, with the three Classics Mini-Cons Dinobots - and the dragon Mini-Con Nightscream - being available at various participating stores, in most cases being given away with a purchase of 3,000 yen or more on Transformers toys.

Of the four:

Ivan, the orange T-Rex and redeco of Classics Terrorsaur, is a Toys R Us Japan exclusive, available with a purchase of 3,000 yen or more on Transformers toys.

Paulie, the blue pteranadon and redeco of Classics Swoop, is an Aeon exclusive. This one is available with a purchase of either LA-01 Battle Command Optimus Prime, AD-01 Optimus Prime or AD-20 Black Knight Grimlock

Thunderlips, the purple triceratops and redeco of Classics Knockdown, is a Joshin Kids Land exclusive, available with a purchase of 3,000 yen or more on Transformers toys.

Sling, the green and yellow dragon and redeco of Classics Nightscream, is exclusive to a whole bunch of stores and given away with a purchase with a purchase of 3,000 yen or more on Transformers toys. Participating stores giving away Sling include Edieon toy counter, Best Denki, Yamada Denki and Yodobashi Camera.

For those wondering "what's with the Rocky names on those Dinobots", during the production of Transformers: Age of Extinction, the Dinobots were given codenames - Grimlock was Ivan, Strafe was Paulie and Slug was Thunderlips. Evidently someone at Takara-Tomy liked those names enough to put them on their latest prize campaign figures.

Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction Concept Art By Josh Nizzi
Posted by News Fetcher on July 12 '14 at 07:00 AM
By SilverOptimus from TFW2005:
Concept Artist Josh Nizzi has posted some amazing concept art from Transformers: Age Of Extinction. The concept art is near identical to the final products we saw onscreen.

Among the items, we get a closer look at "Two-headed" Shockwave, Optimus Prime in action and the Dinobots; Grimlock and Slug. The art also reveals an injured Optimus with a missing ear. The content also sheds some light on as to why we have two different shields with the two Leader Optimus Prime toys; It appears as though the large shield was inspired by this particular concept art by Nizzi.

The three Knights from the Knightship Armory is also revealed, as well as some several unused concepts including a different head for Lockdown and a very punk looking Crosshairs. Speaking of "unused", it seems as though the Silver Knight Optimus Prime is an unused Power-up for the movie just like the previous DOTM Trailer Armor.

We also get a clear look at the all the Cybertronian Weapons and Spaceships we saw throughout the 4th Movie.

Check out all the images at the thread associated with this news post.

Japanese Masterpiece Transformers Complete Guidebook Cover Image
Posted by News Fetcher on July 12 '14 at 07:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Amazon.co.jp has updated with an image of the cover to the Transformers Masterpiece Complete Guidebook. The book is seemingly set to chronicle all the Masterpiece series releases so far from MP-1 Convoy through to MP-22 Ultra Magnus. The cover shows a selection of the Masterpieces stood together including MP-22 Ultra Magnus and MP-21 Bumblebee, which gives a good idea of just how tall (or short in Bumble's case) these toys are. It's a fantastic group shot we very much look forward to recreating in our own displays - check it out and see for yourself.

The sheer awesome madness of TFcon Toronto 2014 has begun! Early reports are coming in by the dozens from several TFW2005 members on Twitter. Most interesting to report at these early morning hours come from third party group FansProject who have two exclusvies for sale at the show: a Generation 2 homage to Breakdown named Kar Krash and a Diaclone inspired offering for LER-01 Columpio and Drepan (Dinobot "Sludge"). Photos come courtesy of crasis and Peaugh on Twitter.

We have very little information about these figures right now so keep checking back as we update you throughout the day!

Several exciting announcements to make for TFExpo 2014!

We're partnering with Headshots Bar and Grill to bring our attendees the FIRST EVER TFExpo Video Game Lounge! This will take place right in the Dealer Room, and is FREE for TFExpo attendees to participate in. We'll be playing Transformers video games, and there will be a tournament with PRIZE GIVEAWAYS! The lounge will be available for use throughout the convention, so check it out.

TFExpo is also proud to bring you our first ever Customs Workshop, courtesy of our guest designer, Javaco. Javaco will be bringing special UPGRADE SETS for our attendees to purchase at the show. Bring along your Generations Blitzwing or Doubledealer to lord over your villainous 'bots in the upgraded form of OPPRESSOR. Available in two different versions, G1 and "Lips" heads, and also includes a new gun! Also available will be "Imitator", upgrading your Universe Inferno into a certain fire-themed 'bot who dreams of one day being a hero. Imitator is available in standard and battle-damaged versions, with head-only and full conversion kits available, which include a new chestplate and shoulder-mounted launcher, as well as an iconic rifle. Javaco's Workshop is FREE for our attendees to use, with paint, brushes and other supplies available at no charge. Just buy the kit you want and get started! Saturday only!

TFcon Toronto 2014 attendee exclusive revealed: PESTILENCE
Posted by News Fetcher on July 11 '14 at 07:15 AM
By Super_Megatron from TFW2005:
ALLEGIANCE: DESTRONS
FUNCTION: TOXIN CREATION

One of the many drones created by TOXIN to watch his skidplate while he plots something bigger then his fellow Destrons can ever understand. PESTILENCE much like the cyber laser he was forged from, is fast, exact and sharp. When many of these units are together, their AI become one and try to work as a team to destroy their target. Wearing 2 turbo boots on each side of it’s super structure helps PESTILENCE get that jolt of speed needed to knock-down it’s prey before snuffing out it’s spark or dragging it’s shell of a body to TOXIN for some experiments. Due to it being a drone, it’s not used to unique situations or bots that are straight up unpredictable. While in groups, their AI will try to work together, but also makes all surrounding units function in a similar fashion, making the pack as a whole very easy to read.

TFcon Toronto – The world's largest fan-run Transformers convention will take place this weekend July 11th to 13th, 2014. TFcon will return to the Delta Meadowvale Hotel and Conference Centre to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Transformers. TFcon Toronto advance registration is now closed, but tickets will be available at the door.
