Our good friend Ken Christiansen told us that he will be at this years BotCon.

"As usual, I'll be selling prints, sketchbooks, original artwork, and taking commissions in the Artist Alley. Commissions are first come first serve, each day of the con. I will be taking on 6 more Pre-order commissions for pick up at the con. Contact ken@badflip.com, if you're interested.

Even More Changes To The Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction Release Dates
Posted by News Fetcher on June 11 '14 at 11:31 PM
By SilverOptimus from TFW2005:
Previously we brought you the news of Transformers: Age Of Extinction Release Dates being changed due to the FIFA World Cup 2014. We heard the bad news of dates being pushed back for countries where Football is a major sport. However, very recently we saw that UK fans were lucky to have their release date brought forward to July 5th.

Now, we have received a word that the Australian release date has also been brought forward to June 25th. However, the luckiest ones are the people living in Egypt; who will get to see the movie on June 23rd. As for those who are not so lucky… Venezuela on August 15th. Since there are some early releases, prepare for Spoilers and Reviews. You are warned.

You can check out the updated Release Dates on the Official Paramount Website.

Transformers 4 Age of Extinction Takara Movie Advanced July Release Images
Posted by News Fetcher on June 11 '14 at 07:16 PM
By Mechafire from TFW2005:
Amazon Japan has revealed images of Takara's July Movie Advanced products, giving us our first look at their Hound, Galvatron, Drift, Strafe, Slash, and last but not least, the highly-anticipated Black Night Grimlock and Lockdown figures!

The Movie Advanced line is part of Takara's Transformers: Age of Extinction toyline, and is their version of Hasbro's AOE Generations line. They all differ from their Hasbro counterparts in one way or another - some of said differences are somewhat minor, though the biggest and most interesting case of this is Black Knight Grimlock, which has had its color scheme changed drastically from the Hasbro version, perhaps providing us with the most screen-accurate representation of the character yet (though it's still not 100% accurate). We also get a much better look at Lockdown here, and it appears that the world-famous gunface may indeed be achievable!

You can view their pages individually at the following links:

AD-21 Hound
AD-22 Galvatron
AD-23 Drift
AD-24 Strafe

Next up in our galleries of upcoming Transformers Generations toys we have a look at the wisecracking Maximal rat - it's Generations Rattrap!

Rattrap was one of the original five Maximals introduced in Beast Wars on board the Axalon. Masterfully voiced by Scott McNeil, Rattrap was a pessimistic Maximal known for sighing and saying "we're all gonna die" when faced with impossible odds - usually before making a major stand and playing a role in making sure everyone came back in one piece.

Rattrap's original toy was one of the first Beast Wars releases, a flipchanger Basic, but here, Rattrap has got the full Deluxe class upgrade, and what an upgrade! Much like Rhinox and Waspinator, Rattrap has been given a wonderfully show accurate design for his new toy, right down to the way his backpack folds up onto his back. There are a lot of cool features in the transformation such as how the rear beast mode legs transform into the robot mode legs. Compared to his wavemate, Tankor, Rattrap is a real puzzle of a toy, requiring some careful alignment of parts to get everything clipped in properly in beast mode. Rattrap's gun is based on a weapon the Maximals used in the show, and it can break down into two smaller pistols as well, so there are plenty of display options with it there. He's also got a flip-up panel in his arm which has a little bomb pop out, again modeled on a feature of the character in the show, another nice touch. One thing that scares me a bit with my Rattrap are the shoulders - because they are tight, trying to move them sometimes makes it feel like the parts they are attached to are being tugged instead, which might risk a breakage down the line if you're unlucky.

A press release has been issued for the Transformers Fan Experience event being held at Universal Studios Hollywood next week! On 20 June the event provides fans - including Botcon 2014 attendees - a chance to experiece Transformers the Ride, rock out with Stan Bush, photo ops with Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee. There will also be a panel with the Hasbro Transformers brand team, which we are told will include a preview of some yet-to-be seen merchandise! How much this runs with the Botcon Hasbro product preview panel we do not know, but we suspect that the Fan Event may focus on the Age of Extinction line, while the Botcon product preview might be focusing on the Generations line and the collector-oriented segments of the line. With just over a week to go, we will not have to wait in suspense for long!

Licensed Transformers Faction Symbol 3D Deco Lights

Here is something sweet you can use to add some character to your man-cave. 3D Light FX have unveiled their Transformers: Age of Extinction tie-in 3D Deco Lights. These wall-mounted lights come with funky 3D "crack" decals to make it look like the symbol of your choice is exploding through the wall. The lights themselves - available in Autobot or Decepticon versions - glow and pulse in either red or purple, red for Autobot and purple for Decepticon. They are pretty cool - and 3D Light FX do a bunch of other cool lights including Iron Man, TMNT and the classic "car crashing through wall" if you fancy something different from Transformers.
