First Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction Trailer With Superbowl 2014
Posted by News Fetcher on December 05 '13 at 12:15 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Director Michael Bay has logged into his Official Website to make a statement regarding what is being circulated around the Internet. In case you missed it, you can check out our report posted few hours ago.

"I Do Not Apologize For Any Transformers Movies" says Mr. Bay. "It is a drag talking to reporters on sets. Why? Because often times they take your words and skew things to their liking? Then the crazy, lazy game of reporting on what other writers story’s reported me saying and then suddenly it becomes skewed Internet truth. So I waste my time to restate exactly what I did say, again.

No I did not ‘apologize’ for any Transformers movies. I did not say I shot the last three movies “less cool” then the new fourth installment. I was talking specifically about camera style and tone, of the first movie compared to how I shot the new installment with a very big scale, cinematic style. I was very specific in saying the first Transformers was shot in a ‘generic suburbia’ area, not trying to be cool with any cinematic flashes. I wanted it to feel like this could happen in any backyard in the United States."

Continuing on, the Director did not forget to mention about Transformers: Age Of Extinction. This includes some information about when we'll exactly see the First Transformers 4 Trailer.

Kabaya Gum DX Overlord and Road Caesar In-Hand
Posted by News Fetcher on December 05 '13 at 10:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Alfes2000 of the Higekuma Toy Blog has posted some nice images of the latest Kabaya Transformers gum kits. These galleries show off the Gum DX Wave 2 in all its glory. Wave 2 has three kits - one containing Overlord, one with Brainmasters Braver and Laster, and the third containing the third Brainmaster, Blacker and the parts to combine the three Brainmasters into Road Caesar (the Road Caesar parts also form a little flying drone with the original did not do). All three sets feature the small Master figures present in the original releases from the 80s in a simplified fashion, as well as compartments for them to sit in or clip into in both modes. Check out the images and see what you think.

Transformers Age Of Extinction: Michael Bay Says "No Goofiness" And What Made Him Return
Posted by News Fetcher on December 05 '13 at 10:00 AM
By StayingInTheBox from TFW2005:
Max Nicholson of IGN posted a short interview with Transformers Director Michael Bay, bringing to light some more promises from the director that Transformers fans have come to be all too familiar with.

In the 4th installment of the live action Transformers series, Bay states this film will be "much more cinematic" and "won't [have] any goofiness." This is followed up with describing star actor Mark Wahlberg's character as a "wacky inventor."

Also interesting to note is Bay's mention of his decision to return to the franchise, which he credits to the Universal Studios Transformers ride and seeing so many kids anxiously waiting to ride the Transformers thrill ride.

Check out the full interview after the jump and let us know what you think of Bay's interview answers.

Is bay throwing us off the scent again with his promise of no goofiness? Or is Age Of Extinction going to be a more serious film?

There's not a better way to get your day started than with a brand new image of an Optimus Prime toy from Transformers: Age Of Extinction! Courtesy of TFW2005 board member, yizhi521, we have what appears to be a leaked image of an Optimus Prime toy from the new live action film.

At this time we only have the one image with the original source being unknown; we are unsure where the leak originated. It does appear to be different from the previous Optimus Prime toy revealed at this year's New York Comic Con. Is this a new Leader Class figure? Voyager?

Check out the image after the jump and sound off on what you think of this reveal!

By Secretcode from TFW2005:
It's time for a triple dose of TakaraTomy Generations this morning, courtesy of (as usual) Alfes' Toy Blog, where he has a posted galleries of TakaraTomy's take on the IDW Bumblebee mold (with a more Goldbug-inspired color scheme, albeit one that doesn't use the "Goldfire" Goldbug headsculpt), as well as the two-pack release of Trailbreaker and Hoist. All three galleries feature numerous photos of these new releases, with comparisons with the Hasbro releases of the toys, as well as their Generation 1 counterparts for Hoist and Trailcutter.

We have mirrored a handful of the photos in this story itself, but for the full in-depth galleries, click on the links above.

Mastermind Creations Terminus Rapidus and Maketoys Quantron Vehicle Images
Posted by News Fetcher on December 02 '13 at 11:45 PM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
Site sponsor TFsource has sent out a catalog for the holiday season and it contains some looks at new 3rd party unofficial Transformer products. First up, is the next project from Mastermind Creations. Terminus Rapidus will be a Quickswitch homage and has cleverly been teased before in the form of their "Steelian Scientist" teasers (Cyclops, Doctrinus Scope, Physicus Tempest) which were all Mastermind Creations way of showing the various alternate modes. This doesn't mean these figures won't be released, just that Terminus Rapidus is most likely first. To top off this exciting news, Mastermind Creations has sent us a clear picture of the prototype!

Also shown in the TFsource catalog is our first look at the individual images of Maketoys next combiner, Quantron. This is our first look at the individual vehicle modes of the groups next combiner homage of G1 Computron.

You can join the discussion for the Maketoys Quantron in vehicle modes in the thread here, or click on the title bar to discuss Mastermind Creations Terminus Rapidus

TFW's Generations Skids Gallery Now Online
Posted by News Fetcher on December 01 '13 at 08:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Rounding out our look at the Generations Deluxe IDW Comics Wave 3 is a look at Skids! Skids is a talented Autobot - a theoretician by training, he is also an "outlier", an Autobot with an unusual talent, which in his case is the ability to learn at an exceptional speed. He was picked up by the crew of the Lost Light suffering from memory loss and joined their quest to search for the Knights of Cybertron. As such he is a very special toy, because not only is he the last of the 1984 and 1985 cars to get a Classics update, but he is also a member of the Lost Light crew, which are always welcome releases.

Skids is a really fun toy. He is not flawless, because he does have a bit of limited movement in his shoulders and his backpack does sometimes make him a little tricky to balance. But he also has a very sharp look, strongly conveying both the concept of an updated version of Generation 1 Skids and also capturing the feel of the character from the comic. He also has an absolute mountain of weaponry, including two double-barreled shoulder cannons, two shoulder mounted banks of missiles, 8 missiles per shoulder, twin lasers in each arm which swing out to either side of the wrist, plus liquid nitrogen rifle and the nudge gun. The latter two weapons can combine into a larger weapon. Almost all these weapons can tuck away as well, so Skids can be displayed in a nice variety of configurations.

All in all, Skids is a good release, and a lot of fun. He is very much the spirit of a Classics update of the original toy, and the sheer amount of guns makes for lots of posing options. If the shoulders had a little more freedom to move, he'd probably be perfect. Even so, with his wave now hitting US retail, I cannot recommend this one enough. He's worth hunting down and adding to your collection. Check out the gallery at the link below and see for yourself.
