Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction And Chinese Brand Product Placement
Posted by News Fetcher on November 15 '13 at 11:15 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Transformers: Age Of Extinction made headlines on Chinese media today and it's not for the usual reasons.

Rob Moore; a top executive at Paramount Pictures has stated that there will be tons of Chinese Brands included on the movie for Product Placement purposes. These include drinking water, a car and a duck-meat snack. We can assume the car he is referring to is none other than the Trumpchi E-Jet, which TFW2005 revealed to you earlier.

"Having those products certainly reinforces the fact that this is Chinese culture and that there is a lot of story-telling happening there” Mr. Moore said. “Working with our Chinese partners really helps us to ensure we are giving an accurate picture of China. The Chinese locations, actors and environment all look very natural and consistent with Chinese culture. As people start to learn more about China, and now that there is a lot more sharing of information, we will do much better."

The articles also state the following. Those who are sensitive to Spoilers are advised to stop reading now:

Transformers Cloud Guardians of Time
Posted by News Fetcher on November 14 '13 at 11:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
E-Hobby have announced a new collaboration with Takara-Tomy Mall. This new collaborative effort is being called Transformers Cloud: Guardians of Time. It appears to be a pair of E-Hobby exclusive releases of Classics Optimus Prime and Generations GDO Megatron (the remolded Revenge of the Fallen Bludgeon). The Classics Optimus Prime seems to now have a black windvane / shotgun, and seems to be a more traditionally red and blue deco with very little silver on the vehicle's sides, if this image is anything to go by. The Megatron on the other hand is very much reworked, with a classic red, silver and black deco inspired by the original Megatron.

Both are set to retail for 5,940 yen each, with the preorder period running from next Friday November 22 2013 to January 6 2014.

New Nike x Transformers Calvin Johnson Sneaks Incoming
Posted by News Fetcher on November 14 '13 at 07:30 PM
By Tony_Bacala from TFW2005:
Calvin Johnson (aka Megatron) of NFL fame is continuing his Transformers themed Nike releases with a Nike Air Trainer SC II release. The sneaks feature Decepticon logos on the heels along with some circuit printing on the upper. The colors are almost G1 megatron inspired, featuring red, black, purple and a dark grey. If they rocked light grey in the colorway instead they would be pretty close to G1 Megatron perfect.

Check out the shots after the break!

TFW's Timelines Ultra Mammoth Gallery Now Online
Posted by News Fetcher on November 14 '13 at 01:00 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
The Transformers Collector's Club round out the first year of the Transformers Figure Subscription Service with Ultra Mammoth! Ultra Mammoth is a redeco of Beast Wars Neo Big Convoy, who was originally developed as a Japan only mold, and was later redecoed as the Transformers Universe Nemesis Prime. Ultra Mammoth though, as the name suggests, is a Beast Wars version of Ultra Magnus, and he looks the part with Ultra Magnus' red white and blue deco.

Being a redeco of Big Convoy also means that Ultra Mammoth is exceedingly well armed, with flip out tonfa under his arms, a huge bazooka that is longer than Mammoth is tall, two missile launchers on the ankles and more missile pods molded into the shoulders. And given that this mold was originally a Beast Wars Ultra class toy, it's reassuringly big. The deco is top-notch, and brings the character to life exceedingly well. And while yes the missiles on the leg panels are remolded, and therefore the launchers cannot conceal in beast mode while loaded, that's a small point and one that is forgiveable enough, given how excellent everything else on this toy is. See for yourself, and check out our gallery:

Transformers Figure Subscription Service Ultra Mammoth Gallery

Overall Ultra Mammoth is a great toy to round out what has been a promising first year for the Transformers Figure Subscription Service. Once the initial hiccups were resolved and the figures started to make it into the hands of fans, they proved to be some good and well thought out exclusive redecos. This fan very much looks forward to the promise of an even better second year.

Steve Jablonsky Interview - Michael Bay, The Transformers Franchise & Age Of Extinction
Posted by News Fetcher on November 13 '13 at 07:16 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Go, See, Talk had the pleasure to interview composer Steve Jablonsky regarding his partnership with Director Michael Bay and his studio; Platinum Dunes. Mr. Jablonsky also gave us an idea how the Score of Transformers 4 a.k.a Transformers: Age Of Extinction may sound like.

"He’s [Michael Bay] a person who takes on these projects that are so huge and massive but he’s so focused on everything and every aspect of it from the sound design, to the CG, I mean he flies up to ILM one to three times a week. He told me “look I have to do that because I need to be part of it. I can’t do it over conference call, I need to sit there with them. These hundred animators show me what they have and I’ll say that looks good, or tweak this here”. Michael really is into everything you see on the screen and he has such a hand in it all so that’s why his schedule is so crazy.

On to Transformers: Age Of Extinction score...

"I mean if you’re on an airplane and you’re listening to something with headphones, sure it’s not going to sound as big or important as if you were in my studio. He has so many things on his plate he might only have a minute to listen to a piece and I’ve actually been asked that by his people. They’ll say “the only chance that Michael has to listen to the cue is on his airplane” because he’s on his way to China or something. And I know now to say “absolutely not, I’m not handing this over so he can listen to it on his iPod. It’s just not going to happen, it’s not fair to him, it’s not fair to me and it needs to be presented properly”.

AmiAmi has posted an image from the Miyazawa Model Shop Autumn Show 2013 on their Facebook page showing the latest version of the CMs Corporation Brave Gokin Excel Suit. This image shows the a color version of the exo suit that Spike Witwicky and his son Daniel wore in Transformers The Movie, Generation 1 Season 3 and Headmasters. In addition to coming with non-poseable PVC figures of Spike and Daniel, this image shows that the set will come with a small PVC figure of "Grand Galvatron", a character shown briefly in the Headmasters cartoon series as an imagining of Galvatron's ultimate aspiration to become a being like Unicron.

We reported recently that Toys R Us would be offering the formerly Amazon exclusive Dark of the Moon Jetwing Optimus Prime as a Black Friday special deal. If you don't want to brave the crowds on Black Friday, you may be in luck, as various 2005 Boards members are reporting seeing the set on Toys R Us store shelves in preparation for Black Friday. The only wrinkle in this setup - if you buy it early, you'll be paying $99.99, rather than the Black Friday rate of $50.
