Revolutionary War: Death's Head II #1 Released
Posted by News Fetcher on February 13 '14 at 10:00 AM
By Mechafire from TFW2005:
So, heard you may be aware of this bounty hunter known as Death's Head, yes?

The previously reported Death's Head comic, Revolutionary War: Death's Head II #1, has been released, and in addition to being available in comic shops, it can also be purchased right now on Comixology. A preview is also available on their website.

This is relevant to Transformers because, aside form the freelance peacekeeping agent's previous history with franchise, the issue has also been drawn by fan-favorite artist Nick Roche and penned by previous Transformers writer Andy Lanning (Infestation, Heart of Darkness).

Go buy it and support Nick Roche, eh?

Transformers Collector's Club Tweets Interesting Set Of Character Designs
Posted by News Fetcher on February 13 '14 at 09:00 AM
By StayingInTheBox from TFW2005:
Before the awesome weekend of Toy Fair 2014 is upon us, the News Staff of TFW2005 thought it would be fun to share with you a recent string of tweets from the Transformers Collector's Club.

This morning the TCC tweeted out a set of characters from the most recent Club magazine, issue #55. This set of tweets is most interesting because it shows off character designs of "alternate universe "Beast" characters" using existing toy molds from the Generations, Prime and Universe toy lines.

We want to be clear these images are in no way indicative of planned toys, but they are worthy of some discussion given how well flow together in a "box set" style. Again, there have been no hints given that these are planned toys.

Included in the images are characters Dynobot, Jawbreaker, Geckobot, Torca, Rattrap, and Botanica.

What does TFW think? Are these just part of the Club's storyline, or do they have potential to be future Club/BotCon toys? Sound off after the jump!

Posted by News Fetcher on February 12 '14 at 07:45 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Thanks to a You Tube video by Wes McCraw, we have with us a recording of sound-bites that will be used for a Grimlock toy based on Transformers: Age Of Extinction.

Though we do not know yet for sure whether the Dinobots will transform in the upcoming movie, the toy is clearly giving a command to the rest of the Dinobots to Transform.

Grimlock's toy voice will be provided by Richard Sellers. However, we still do not know which version of the toy will feature these sound-bites.

X-Files: Conspiracy Transformers Crossover Interview
Posted by News Fetcher on February 12 '14 at 03:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Comic Book Resources has posted an interview with Ed Brisson and Paul Crilley, who are writing the X-Files Conspiracy Crossover event for IDW, which includes this month's Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover issues.

In the interview we learn that the Transformers issue will feature a core cast of three robots, Optimus Prime, Ratchet and Bumblebee, using their designs from the Mike Costa ongoing series so we may have an indication there where this might fall in continuity. There's a hint on how everything fits into the wider crossover story, and also the answer to the burning question - what would happen if the Transformers and the Ninja Turtles were to meet?

Check out the interview
, which includes some sweet artwork from both of the crossovers.

Via Autobase Aichi, we can share with you some in-hand images of the Action Toys EM Gokin Roadbuster. This figure is a redeco of Action Toy's Mugen Caliber from 2010 - the Mugen Caliber being the toy from the anime series Dorvack which was licensed for the Transformers line in 1985. This new version of Roadbuster does not transform - but if you just want a little Roadbuster with a killer robot mode, check out this figure. It's out now in Japan.

Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction Teaser Trailer Releasing Soon
Posted by News Fetcher on February 11 '14 at 12:15 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Yesterday we heard the rumor of Transformers: Age Of Extinction Theatrical Trailer being released in March. Today, we have information regarding the Teaser Trailer... and this time it's not a rumor.

Both Michael Bay's Official Twitter Account and the Official Website were update moments ago with a message stating that the "Teaser Trailer" is coming soon.

"#transformers4 teaser #trailer coming soon #tf4 #transformers #michaelbay #ageofextinction"

Last time when such an announcement was made, the trailer was released mere 4 days later. While we cannot promise such a quick reveal might happen, we must also take into account that the New York Toy Fair 2014 is also 4 days away from today. Usually Hasbro booth will show video clips of their brands and what better way to promote the Transformers 4 Toy Line than with a brand new Teaser Trailer? This is entirely a speculation....You can leave your thoughts at the thread associated with this news post.

More than Meets the Eye #27 - Dark Cybertron Part 10 Variant Cover - Sky-Byte!
Posted by News Fetcher on February 11 '14 at 09:00 AM
By Mechafire from TFW2005:
IDW have updated their Facebook photos with a previously-unseen cover - featuring everyone's favorite flying shark poet, Sky-Byte! This will be the cover for More than Meets the Eye #27, the tenth chapter of Dark Cybertron.

This may be of some interest to fans because in the huge Hasbro database leak from a while back, we had seen a listing for a possible Generations Voyager Sky-Byte figure. Although it seems that non-Deluxe IDW figures don't really factor into what appears in the comics, could this perhaps be our first glimpse at the upcoming figure's design?

Perhaps this figure will be revealed at New York Toy Fair this weekend. Whatever the case, check out the cover then speculate away in the discussion thread!

Also, be sure to stay tuned to TFW2005, where we'll be reporting all the upcoming Toy Fair news live as it happens!

Right now we only have two images of Bumblebee still in his grey prototype stage and Optimus Prime fully colored.

Wonder Festival 2014 Coverage: Hi-Res Photos and Small Updates
Posted by News Fetcher on February 10 '14 at 01:15 PM
By Secretcode from TFW2005:
Before this week gets too insane, with the New York Toy Fair event coming up this weekend, we here at TFW2005 have one last Wonder Festival 2014 story to share with you.

First off, we would like to post a correction to an earlier story: The recently revealed silhouette from the CMs Corps booth at Wonder Festival was not actually Deathsaurus, according to Autobase Aichi. The silhouette is actually of the titular robot Acrobunch from the 1982 anime series Makyo Densetsu Acrobunch, and therefore not an actual Transformers character or product. Many apologies to any members out there who may have gotten their hopes up and subsequently smacked back down.

Secondly, we have a bunch of high resolution photographs of many of the Transformers related products at the Wonder Festival event, including clearer shots of Ultimetal Optimus Prime, Fewture Statues of Optimus Prime, Alpha Trion and Grimlock, the GIANT Unicron head statue and more- Including previously revealed EM Gokin and ES Gokin Roadbusters, Sentinel's non-transforming articulated G1 Scorponok, a Garage Kit of Optimus Prime with Matrix and a Super Deformed Fortress Maximus garage kit!

Special thanks to personal friend WondAnon for doing me a favor and taking these photos specifically for our coverage. You can check out the exclusive photos by clicking the story header or by simply just clicking here.

Rumor - Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction Theatrical Trailer To Debut This March?
Posted by News Fetcher on February 10 '14 at 09:30 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Nelson; the admin of Michael Bay Official Website has "hinted" that the Theatrical Trailer for Transformers: Age Of Extinction will be "ready" next month. He has told this while answering that the scenes from the Superbowl Spot were not in a chronological order.

"That trailer is not in chronological order. Rumor has it the theatrical trailer will be ready in about a month or so."

For Transformers: Dark Of The Moon by this time last time, a Teaser Trailer and 2 TV Spots were already released. Which were then followed by the Theatrical Trailer late April.

If the AOE Theatrical Trailer will release in March, it's a bit tough to guess a movie it will release with. 300: Rise of an Empire is a certified 3D, 2D and IMAX movie... however its R rating may not capture younger audience. Next possible candidates being Need For Speed and Muppets: Most Wanted.

What do you think? If the trailer will indeed be released in March, which movie will accompany it? Leave your thoughts, at the thread associated with this news post.

By StayingInTheBox from TFW2005:
Thanks to the Twitter feed of TF YUKI we have some in-hand images of the Takara Generations figures of Waspinator (TG30) and Rhinox (TG31).

The Takara versions of these fan favorite figures feature a more metallic and glossy finish to the decos, including a very slick looking paint job on Rhinox's weapons which gives them show accuracy.

Check out the images after the jump and let us know if you're holding out for the Takara versions!

By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
iGear have updated their Facebook page with new images of their Raptor Squadron Star-Burst, Sky-Wind and Thunder-Wrath. The trio are unofficial versions of the IDW Comics F-22 Raptor versions of Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker. These were originally shown back in July last year, but have now undergone multiple mold changes to sharpen the lines and improve the head sculpts - but are they still of interest now that Hasbro have released a Legends class version of this design?

By Secretcode from TFW2005:
Thanks to an eBay listing by eBay member clamar2120, we now have a few photos of what might be the long rumored Generations Leader Jetfire toy. While the photos are very grainy and look to be altered, the resemblance to Generation One Skyfire/Jetfire is uncanny.

This release was originally leaked via a Hasbro Database error back in October.

Stay tuned to TFW2005 as we bring you the latest news as it happens, and stay tuned with us next week as our New York Toy Fair coverage begins!
