Toy Fair 1995 Catalog Scans Featuring Unreleased Transformers Generation 2 Toys
Posted by News Fetcher on September 03 '13 at 01:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
2005 Boards member BB Shockwave has shared with us something cool tonight - scans of the Transformers pages of the 1995 Toy Fair catalog. This catalog covered the end of the Generation 2 line, so it shows a whole lot of these early toys that never got released. Showcased herein are toys such as the Soundwave and Jazz Laser Cycles (recolors of Road Pig and Road Rocket, respectively), SGT Hound and General Optimus Prime autorollers (recolors of Road Block and Dirtbag, respectively) plus the Combat Hero Optimus Prime and Megatron recolors and the legendary Megatron & Starscream ATB.

There's also a whole page dedicated to the Go-Bots assortment which was actually released, but weirdness rears its head here with several characters having altered names, i.e. Bumble Bee instead of Bumblebee.

Check out the scans attached to this post for a look at lots of never-released goodness.

Possible Confirmation Of A Returning Character For Transformers 4
Posted by News Fetcher on September 03 '13 at 05:30 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Yesterday, TFW2005 revealed to the world the possible title of Transformers 4 (or we can call it Transformers: Age Of Extinction from now on). Along with the title for the movie, three other names came up at the United States Patent And Trademark Office. These three titles were categorized under Video Games. One of the titles was a major spoiler.

But it didn’t take long for us to know that the character in question will make an appearance one way or the other on TF:AOE. Thanks to our 2005 Boards Member Evac167, we have a spy photo to show you. If you want to see it, we suggest you visit the thread associated with this news post. We are keeping it away from the front page for those who are sensitive to spoilers.

Masterpiece Prowl - Collector's Coin Image
Posted by News Fetcher on September 03 '13 at 01:45 AM
By Superquad7 from TFW2005:
Hot on the tail of the recent image on Twitter by designer Shogo Hasui news, we have this bit of news - the image of the collector's coin for the upcoming release of Masterpiece Prowl! While some collectors have simply chosen to pass on collecting the coins to the recent Masterpiece figures, this one certainly has a look of lawful authority that is aptly applicable to Prowl. Many thanks TFW2005.com member Autobot_Jacer for sharing this news from Planet Iacon. This is yet another step closer for the release of Masterpiece Prowl!

TFW's Generations Hoist Gallery Now Online
Posted by News Fetcher on September 02 '13 at 02:15 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
For the second assortment of their IDW Comic pack-in Transformers Generations releases, Hasbro went with a pair of retooled / redecoed releases. One of the two was Hoist, a retooled Trailcutter featuring a new head and a crane in place of the truck bed cover / hatchback panel accessory Trailcutter sported. While a simple retool, it is very effective and also true to how the original Hoist was retooled from Generation 1 Trailbreaker.

Hoist's deco is quite simply, gorgeous. The green and orange contrast as well now as they did in 1985, and the updated design is very much in keeping with the "Classics" style of reimagined Generation 1 Autobots, while still being distinctly Hoist. The new head in particular I feel is very well done, with nice yellow eyes and faceplate evoking Hoist's unique look. The crane accessory folds up to become a small blaster for Hoist - unusually conservatively small among Transformers toys who have huge blasters. It's a different style of design though, which makes it nice and refreshing.

We've been waiting a long while for a new Hoist to add to our Classics shelves, and while the Revenge of the Fallen Hoist filled the space nicely in the interim, this toy is definitively the Classics Hoist in this fan's eyes. I enjoyed the Trailcutter toy a lot, but I would say Hoist, with his brighter and frankly more unique deco, is the more appealing of the two. If you can only get one, consider Hoist (if you can though, get both, they are both amazing toys and characters deserving of your time, and excellently designed little toys to boot).

Unreleased Universe Motormaster (Generation 1 Thunder Clash Redeco) Color Sheet
Posted by News Fetcher on September 02 '13 at 01:45 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
By way of The Spacebridge on Facebook, we can bring you a look at something rather cool. Back in the original Transformers Universe line in 2003, Hasbro had planned to release a redeco of G1 Thunder Clash / Machine Wars Optimus Prime as Motormaster. The line's unpopularity with retailers curtailed the plans and other than the occasional prototype, nothing has ever been seen of this toy.

Today, The Spacebridge has added some Hasbro Color Guides for this unreleased Universe Motormaster to his Prototype Transformers gallery. These are the sheets used by Hasbro in determining the final deco, paint apps and other details - a rare look at the design process of any Transformers toy, but doubly so for one that was never released and is rarely seen. Be sure to check them out, along with all the other cool looks at rare and obscure items in that same gallery.

Transformers 4 Filming Details Over The Weekend - Blue Shield Tower, Walgreens
Posted by News Fetcher on September 01 '13 at 07:00 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Chicago Tribune has posted some details of Transformers 4 filming which took place at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Tower and our member ElectricPrada09 is bringing some details from Walgreens.

According to Chicago Tribune, The film's star, Mark Wahlberg, could be seen climbing into Optimus Prime's driver's side under Michael Bay's direction. Hours earlier, two actors who appeared to be co-stars Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz (or their stand-ins) exited Bumblebee after it performed a "doughnut," bringing the car to a screeching halt.

Also the article states that on Saturday, a couple of military-looking men in berets and all-black uniforms that read "KSI" were seen on set.

After the filming, director Michael Bay rolled down his window to say hello while being driven off the premise. After one woman shouted "I love your movies," Bay responded "I love Chicago."

There was also a shooting which took place at a Walgreens with Michael Bay present. Many of our fans suggest that it could be a scene very early in the movie where the actors are out and about before being thrown into a world of chaos.

If you have filming reports, images and videos from Transformers 4 filming, feel free to report. Your contribution is always welcome.

An Aston Martin Vanquish & A White 2014 Camaro Spotted On The Transformers 4 Set
Posted by News Fetcher on September 01 '13 at 11:15 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
More Transformers 4 news from the set. Two new cars were spotted rolling with the Autobots of Transformers 4.

One of them is a White 2013 Production Camaro by Chevrolet (as identified by our evac167). This new Camaro was seen with the 67 Camaro Bumblebee and the new Concept Camaro Bumblebee. This could be an indication of a commercial by Chevy since they did the same while filming Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. But, anything is possible right now.

The second car; a silver Aston Martin Vanquish was seen rolling with Chevy "Crosshairs" Stingray and the Bugatti Veyron.

Transformers 4 - Dinobots Officially Confirmed, New Cars, No TF4 Chinese Edition
Posted by News Fetcher on September 01 '13 at 06:45 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
In an exclusive interview with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Beijing News is revealing some cool Transformers 4 news.

First of all, now we have the official confirmation of the existence of Dinobots on Transformers 4. The secret was leaked not too long ago and the officials may have thought to finally reveal it since the cats are out of the bag.

"I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the joining of the Dinobots will give the audience new excitement. In addition to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, the appearance of these classic roles changed, today the world's coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including China's vehicles, whether you are a car enthusiast, you will feast your eyes and be shocked by them."

With this news, we now also have the confirmation of Chinese Concept Car E-jet being a Cybertronian in disguise as well.

And the producer also mentioned that there will be no Special TF4 Chinese Edition like Iron Man 3 was. (IM3 Chinese Edition Incident was a fiasco which production studios may not try to repeat).

"I know that "Iron Man 3" had a special edition released in China, but "Transformers 4" will only have one version globally"

Filming in China will be in Beijing and Hong Kong and additional cities:

"In China we have chosen Beijing and Hong Kong, as well as two more cities we are looking at."

Props to 2005 Boards member GabrielPrime for the link and translation.

Chinese Concept Car E-jet Spotted On The Set Of Transformers 4
Posted by News Fetcher on September 01 '13 at 06:30 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
A new car has been seen on the set of Transformers 4 being filmed. It's a Chinese Concept Car going by the name of E-jet.

This time there is a good chance for E-jet to be a Cybertronian in disguise. Why do we say that? We all know China plays a huge role in the upcoming 4th Michael Bay Transformers Live Action Movie. That, plus the fact that it is a Concept Car... the odds of this new car being a robot it rather high. But, we don't know for sure. It could very well be just another prop car. Who knows? Only time can tell. Stick with TFW2005 as we bring you more info.

Rumor - Transformers Generations Upcoming Releases in Wal-Mart Computers?
Posted by News Fetcher on August 31 '13 at 10:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Chalk this up as a rumor for now as these might just be placeholders, but the Wal-Mart computer systems have a few new names down against the Transformers Generations Deluxe Assortment.

The four names are:

Rattrap
Nightbeat
Crosscut
Tankor

What lends credibility to the rumor is that Rattrap was name-dropped by Dark Cybertron co-writer James Roberts in an interview with Fullmetal Hero. As the current assortment of Generations are based on IDW comics characters, Nightbeat makes sense given his importance in previous story arcs. Crosscut in the past was the name of a redeco / remold of the Autobot, Skids - could this be a potential Skids remold? Tankor though we have no idea on - but that's the fun of speculation!

Watch this space for more news and future updates.
