The newest releases in the Takara Tomy Legends EX line have started to get into the hands of fans who pre-ordered them. Thanks to our very own 2005 Boards member Type-R for collecting several in-hand images of both Legends EX Greatshot and Grand Maximus that have surfaced over the web. LG-EX Grand Maximus is a redeco of Legends Fortress Maximus, based on the character seen in the Japanese Transformers: Masterforce cartoon. The new deco is very nice and cartoon-accurate in all his modes and components. While the mold is the same as Fortress Maximus, the legs on Grand Maximus aren’t glued » Continue Reading.

The Dark Side of the Force – Takara-Tomy Star Wars Transformers Darth Vader In-Hand Images

Takara-Tomy’s first new Star Wars Transformers release – not to be confused with Hasbro’s similarly-named line – is out in Japan, and that means we have in-hand images to share with you. The starship mode is of course excellent, with the robot mode evoking the style of Darth Vader’s menacing appearance with the TIE wings on its shoulders. We can see cool things in these shots like where the lightsaber stores on the wing, and the Darth Vader minifigure flanked by an honor guard of Stormtroopers. Star Wars Transformers by Takara-Tomy Advert
Posted by News Fetcher on March 30 '18 at 08:11 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Takara-Tomy’s Youtube page has added a new video showcasing their Star Wars Transformers line. The advert has a disappointing lack of stop-motion or other fun, instead discussing the features of the figure’s design and transformation, calling out the accuracy of the vehicle designs and the authentic accessories. The advert features Darth Vader / TIE Advanced, and Han Solo & Chewbacca / Millenium Falcon. There’s no hint toward future releases either, unfortunately. Check out the video below:

Here is not one but two awesome bits of cover artwork for your enjoyment. PreviewsWorld has updated with Kei Zama’s cover artwork for IDW’s Optimus Prime issues 17 and 18. Issue 17 features the gigantic Devastator on the attack, clutching an utterly terrified Starscream in his mighty fist – and we’d be terrified too if we were in Starscream’s boots! Issue 18 meanwhile features Kei Zama’s take on Solus Prime of the ancient Primes, rendered impressively in the act of forging a mighty weapon – could it be the Star Saber sword that has played a pivotal role » Continue Reading.

It’s been a high point of speculation over the last few months but we can now confirm that IDW’s current iteration of the Transformers is coming to an end. More Than Meets The Eye/Lost Light writer James Roberts has confirmed it via his Twitter account. In his tweet he confirms that “the current IDW G1 continuity will end (spectacularly) with Unicron #6, OP #25 and LL #25, all in September. All three are biweekly over summer. We’ve had time to plan for the end, so it’s a proper, un-rushed wrap up. Beyond Sept? New IDW TF comics, new continuity.” » Continue Reading.

Next up is our gallery of Power of the Primes Submarauder, who conceals the Prime, Alchemist Prime! Submarauder was the only one of the Decepticon Pretenders I owned back in 1988, so the Decepticon Creature from the Black Lagoon has a place in this fan’s heart. Power of the Primes does a fantastic job of faithfully recreating the original character, who has the added bonus of turning into a trident. The design is nice and intricate, capturing everything that made the original shell look awesome. Alchemist Prime, though, is underpainted and feels generic in design, but then, that » Continue Reading.
