Vince DiCola's 1986 Transformers Movie Score Now Available
Posted by News Fetcher on January 08 '14 at 07:45 AM
By Secretcode from TFW2005:
Announced originally in October, the musical score for the Transformers 1986 movie composed by Vince DiCola has been given an official release via Sony's Intrada storefront.

Original soundtrack from initial big-screen animated treatment of The Transformers, numerous iconic battling robot characters spawned from Hasbro television mini-series that became wildly popular in subsequent syndication. Cars, trucks, toy dinosaurs, you name it became behemoths of warring destruction. Vince DiCola, fresh off dynamic score for Rocky IV, brings sizzling modern up-tempo sensibilities to his electronic score for Transformers, melds driving energy with striking fully-composed quasi-orchestral themes, motifs. Exciting compositions result, with plethora of rhythms infused with composer's unique harmonic vernacular on display. DiCola, who gets start as session keyboardist, then moves into scoring with Staying Alive, sequel toSaturday Night Fever, connects well with with director Sylvester Stallone, lands mega-hit Rocky IV and captures attention of TV producers transforming Hasbro's small-screen robots into big-screen monoliths. Intrada CD presents first widely available release of score, courtesy Sony Music, first available as very limited "BotCon" editions in 1997 & 2001. Newly assembled and mastered from two-track digital masters, Intrada CD also features composer's "Legacy", originally written as six-minute powerhouse demo for producers during early stages of project. Intrada Special Collection release available while quantities and interest remain!

Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction Footage To Be Associated With Samsung's Curved 105-inch UHD TV
Posted by News Fetcher on January 06 '14 at 07:30 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Michael Bay is trending on Twitter… and it's for a very embarrassing reason. Transformers: Age Of Extinction Director had a bit of a melt down on stage at CES when his teleprompter went nuts. Technology… you'll never know when it'll take you down.

Anyway, the director soon made a statement on his official site and promising that we’ll see Transformers 4 footage along with Samsung's new Curved 105-inch UHD TV.

"Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES – I was about to speak for Samsung for this awesome Curved 105-inch UHD TV. I rarely lend my name to any products, but this one is just stellar. I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VP’s intro line and then the teleprompter got lost. Then the prompter went up and down – then I walked off. I guess live shows aren’t my thing.

But I’m doing a special curved screen experience with Samsung and Transformers 4 footage that will be traveling around the world.

Michael"

Transformers Cloud series to have eight releases?
Posted by News Fetcher on January 06 '14 at 01:00 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
It seems like the E-Hobby and Takara-Tomy Mall exclusive line of Transformers toys, Transformers Cloud, is planned to feature eight different toy releases, four on Takara-Tomy Mall and four on E-Hobby. The order page for the Cloud Optimus Prime on Takara-Tomy Mall has a line of text which states:

Please look forward to the new series of Transformers that are planned based on the story over the years each site will have 4 items of products.

(Translation by Bing, with some tweaks to improve clarity by yours truly)

This suggests that in addition to Optimus Prime (from Classics Optimus Prime) and Megatron (from Generations GDO Megatron) there might be six more toys to come out of this lineup. The Transformers Cloud first story chapter illustration teases a Rodimus from Generations Voyager Springer; could this be one of the six?

Big thanks to TFW2005 member Powered Convoy for pointing this out to us!
