Four Chinese Actors Selected For Transformers 4
Posted by News Fetcher on August 26 '13 at 07:30 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Few months ago the production studio of Transformers 4 including producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura initiated a Reality TV Show in China to select new actors for Transformers 4. Now, they have selected four artists for the movie after four months (wait-a-minute… Transformers 4, Four Actors, Four Months!?! Oh, I see what they did there!).

"I want everybody to have fun," Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the film's producer who has produced all the Transformers movies, told China.org.cn about the producers' decision to recruit actors through a TV contest aired on the China Movie Channel. "We are always looking for different ways to learn about other cultures. This is a great way to see people's passion and excitement. It allows for everybody to have fun together," he added.

Byron Li, Austin Lin, Candice Zhao, Teresa Daley eventually won the much-coveted movie parts Sunday night on the "'Transformers 4 Chinese Actors Talent Search Reality Show," launched by Paramount Pictures in cooperation with Jiaflix and the China Movie Channel in April. The contest was open to both professional and amateur actors, attracting more than 70,000 contestants.

ILM To Air A Transformers 4 Dinobots Featurette?
Posted by News Fetcher on August 26 '13 at 07:00 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Time to churn the rumor mill. Tonyformer of 2005 Boards is informing us that we might get to see the creation process of the Dinobots of Transformers 4 in an upcoming Featurette by ILM (Industrial Light & Magic; the CGI artists of Transformers Live Action Movies). Exact date for the ILM Featurette is not set, but we can expect to see it the same way we saw the previous Featurettes of Driller and Devastator for Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen respectively.

According to Tonyformer - ILM team members will be wearing special Transformers 4 caps during the Featurette. The caps will have the current TF4 Logo with [Robot] Dinosaur claw prints.

Hearing what Tonyformer said, 2005 Boards Member TunaKaan quickly whipped up a mock logo. We thought to share his creativity by posting the image with this news post.

TFW's Auto Assembly 2013 Bad Cop (Custom Barricade) Gallery Now Online
Posted by News Fetcher on August 26 '13 at 02:46 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Keith's Fantasy Club teamed up with Auto Assembly to bring fans the Auto Assembly 2013 custom figure kit - Bad Cop! Based on the concepts for Transformers Universe Barricade, this kit includes everything you need to customize a First Edition Transformers Prime Vehicon into a Transformers Prime Barricade.

The kit is nice and easy to do - all you need is a little superglue to fix on the lightbar, and a careful hand to apply the stickers. Since the head is on a balljoint you can just pop the Vehicon's head off and plug in the Barricade head, though I found I needed to just gently shave a little plastic off the socket for the ball joint for the best fit.

The final effect is excellent - the new head perfectly captures the look and feel of a Transformers Prime character, and the half a dozen main stickers - two for the doors, two for the rear wheel arches and a two-part one for the roof - help to complete the look. In vehicle mode, Bad Cop looks very cool and dynamic, with the additional details added by the stickers complementing the existing look of the Vehicon's vehicle mode nicely. In robot mode, some of the new details are hidden but the stickers on the vehicle's sides are now on the arms, which together with the new head gives the robot mode its own identity.

Bad Cop was produced in very limited quantities for Auto Assembly. If you were able to get your hands on one of these kits, congratulations, you own one of the cooler third party "garage kit" sets on the market. If you are a fan of Transformers Prime and get a chance to pick up this kit, I recommend you go for it - it is a great complement to any Transformers Prime collection.

TFW's Transformers Go! Samurai Swordbots Galleries Online
Posted by News Fetcher on August 25 '13 at 04:45 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
For our next gallery update, we wish to draw your attention to the sterling work that 2005 photo staff member SydneyY has been doing on the latest all-new Transformers molds to come out of Japan, the Transformers Go! Samurai Swordbots. Named Kenzan, Jinbu and Ganoh, these three Autobots were awakened when Budora and Gaidora of the Predacon Oni Team attempted to seize an artifact known as "Legendisc". Armed with weapons befitting their samurai backstory, the trio also possess a special combination ability to allow the three to merge into three distinct combined forms, emphasizing and powering up each Autobot's unique skills and abilities.

As toys, the trio hark back to the Transformers Galaxy Force / Transformers Cybertron line of big and chunky toys with futuristic alternate modes and simpler transformations, but cool and playable gimmicks to go with it. Of the three Kenzan is a bit of an all-rounder with a cool (and refreshingly big) car mode. He's nicely proportioned and poseable in robot mode, and a nice detail is a topknot on the back of his head. Jinbu has a slender build to emphasize that he's all about speed - though this makes him the weakest of the three, with overlong legs. Lastly Ganoh is a big, chunky robot with a nice heft to him, who fights with a drill-tipped spear. He turns into a nice, big fire rescue vehicle, and is the most solidly built of the three.

Third Party Unofficial Fall of Cybertron Metroplex
Posted by News Fetcher on August 25 '13 at 06:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Via Weibo we have a look at another unlicensed third party Fall of Cybertron Transformer. This latest one to be unveiled is an unofficial Fall of Cybertron Metroplex, based on his in-game design from Fall of Cybertron. He is shown to transform into a battle station in these renders, a mobile battle-base mode is not demonstrated.

Check out the images attached to this story. Is an unofficial Metroplex needed in a world where Hasbro have already given us a Classics style Metroplex, especially when the price tag is likely to be in excess of that of an official Metroplex? Share your thoughts in the discussion thread on our 2005 Boards.

This latest set picture shows a wall of propaganda posters which tells us something about the tone of the next installment of the Transformers Movie series and how humanity are going to be viewing Cybertronians. Among the posters we can see:

A city skyline with an American flag, on both black and white backgrounds. The text reads "Remember Chicago. Report Alien Activity"

Posters of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in the style of the 2008 Barack Obama "Hope" campaign posters by Shepard Fairey. A large number of them say "Hate" but one Optimus Prime poster at left and four Bumblebee ones at right say "Hope"

At least three different styles of poster depict other Transformers, potentially Decepticons given their more alien appearance. The text on these say "It's watching you"

A fourth poster features a human eye, with text too indistinct to properly make out. We would imagine though that it will be a similar vein of "they are among us. Keep your eyes open and report suspicious activity"

The general atmosphere these posters are creating is one of fear and paranoia among the human populace - it seems that following Transformers Dark of the Moon, humanity is seeing all Transformers, good, evil and neutral, as a potential threat. It sounds as though Transformers 4 will be putting an almost X-Men type spin on the concept of "Robots in Disguise" - hiding from a populace that fears and hates them, that they are still honor-bound to protect and defend.

Peter Cullen To Make Cameo Appearance In Transformers 4 As A Holodriver?

By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
There's quite a lot of hidden gems on the recently leaked Transformers 4 Call Sheet.

On the list, if you look very carefully, you'll notice a familiar name from the Transformers Franchise. That name is the legendary voice of Optimus Prime; Mr. Peter Cullen. Strangely enough, he is listed as a "Stunt Driver".

Since the first Michael Bay Transformers Live Action Movie, fans were demanding a cameo appearance of Mr. Cullen. Specifically, as a Holodriver for Optimus Prime's Vehicle Mode. Listening to the fans, IDW incorporated this into their Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen prequel comic book; Transformers: Alliance. However, we were left waiting to see this to happen on the big screen.

Now however, it seems as though fans are finally getting their wish come true. But, only time can tell the legitimacy of this recent development. Keep it under "Rumor" category until proven correct.
