Hasbro Studios Mike Vogel Interview
Posted by News Fetcher on May 08 '13 at 10:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Collider has posted an interview with Hasbro Studios Vice President Mike Vogel. In this interview Vogel talks about the excitement and challenges of realising all of Hasbro's many properties as TV series as well as some of the lessons to be learned going forward. There is a bit on Transformers Prime season 3's production in this interview as well as the vibe that we will be seeing more movie styled productions going forward, since comic book movies are "the thing" right now.

There are also two interesting teases in there. The first is a promise of something exciting at SDCC, and the second is that there may have been talk about doing a Kre-O show:

I think that does sound really interesting, and I can neither confirm or deny that there’s a presentation somewhere that shows exactly how we would do that, and that it would be super fun and exciting. But, I can say that it’s really funny.

Check out the full interview here.

Dark of the Moon Unreleased Soundblaster In-Hand Images
Posted by News Fetcher on May 08 '13 at 10:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Here is something rare and cool for you - by way of this eBay auction, we can share with you some images of a Transformers toy that never made it to general retail. Dark of the Moon Soundblaster was a redeco of Soundwave, initially intended for a seventh wave of Deluxe Class toys along with a Generation 1 styled Wheeljack, a redeco of Bumblebee and a Generation 1 themed Ratchet redeco. The series was dropped from a US release to an Asia exclusive wave, but never even saw that limited release. Until this auction, all we saw of Soundblaster were those initial promotional images. Check them out for a rare look at a toy that never got a release.

The Hub to rebrand as The Hub Network?
Posted by News Fetcher on May 07 '13 at 11:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
An article on Nick and More pulls together a few points from recent Hasbro press releases, wherein they have taken to referring to "The Hub" as "Hub Network". While not official yet, the article points out that the web address HubNetwork.com is registered to The Hub's SVP of Business and Legal Affairs. They have also posted an updated logo, retaining the distinctive shape and coloration of the network's logo, but bearing the new title.

As yet though there is no word on when the change from "The Hub" to "Hub Network" will officially take place, but speculation is that June 1, with that month's new premieres, is a possible point the changeover may happen.

"It’s looking like an appearance might happen. I haven’t got that phone call yet, officially. We’ll see what happens."

We also learned that Josh Duhamel is to make a cameo appearance on Transformers 4. It seems as though Tyrese Gibson's role in the upcoming movie may be the same. Only time will tell.

Generations Metroplex New Images
Posted by News Fetcher on May 06 '13 at 02:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Hisashi Yuki has kicked off the new week by uploading a pair of new images to his Twitter account. These latest images show off Metroplex's chest bay door open with Scamper posing on the resulting platform - check out the articulation on Scamper, he even appears to have some movement in his head!

In a second image, we get another sense of just how big Metroplex is. In his first image of Metroplex's full robot mode, Hisashi Yuki is showing us Metroplex posed as if running - demonstrating some of the big guys articulation. By way of impressing just how massive this toy is, three Legends class Transformers toys are stood in front of Metroplex, looking positively tiny in comparison to the big guy.

TFW Generations Blitzwing Gallery
Posted by News Fetcher on May 04 '13 at 06:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
The next new Transformers toy to get featured in our galleries is the hot new Decepticon addition to the Generations line, Blitzwing! Blitzwing has been in demand ever since the first assortment of Transformers Classics toys gave us an Astrotrain in 2006, a demand that only increased with the addition of Octane to the Universe line in 2008. It's been a long time coming, but Blitzwing has finally arrived in the Classics line.

Blitzwing is a Voyager class toy, and he feels nice and substantial. He has plenty of articulation and nice big feet which take his weight really well. The shoulders are a bit awkward out of the box - they pop out very easily - though there are ways to modify them for a better fit; check out one such modification in our Radicons Customs section here. Blitzwing features both his alternate modes, jet and tank, and they do a good job of being distinct from each other thanks to some rather clever tricks. In a homage to the Transformers Animated Blitzwing, Generations Blitzwing sports the three different faces of that character, an excellent and fun touch.

Overall Blitzwing is a great toy. The shoulders are the weakest point about him, along with some of the more rubbery parts, but I would invite you to look past that and see just how much of a masterwork this new, definitive version of Blitzwing really is.
