Steve Jablonsky To Start Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction Score Soon
Posted by News Fetcher on November 06 '13 at 09:45 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
He is known as the "Transformers Maestro". One of the key highlights of the Transformers Live Action Movie Series is his music. His popularity within the fandom began with Arrival To Earth. His spine-tingling score resonated throughout the Original Trilogy and he's back for the 4th time. He is none other than composer Steve Jablonsky.

The Examiner had the pleasure of interviewing this talented man, for his latest Score is now out (Ender's Game). The site did not forget to ask few questions regarding Transformers Franchise as well.

Let’s touch on “Transformers” for a minute. You composed the music for the original trilogy of films that really showcased you as a terrific action composer and I really do love the original score very much. What exactly happened with your soundtrack releases for the series?

SJ: That's a big question. I'll just say that these huge summer blockbusters are intense and complex. I personally am so focused on completing the score and making the movie as good as I possibly can, sometimes the soundtrack process gets delayed, which is basically what happened with the first "Transformers." But it was a good learning experience, I try now to start thinking about the album as soon as I can.

Do you feel they pretty much took a backseat to what the label was doing with the song albums?

SJ: I don't really have anything to do with the song albums. They are obviously aimed at a much wider audience. Score albums are for film music fans, and hopefully we create new film music fans with each project.

If you had a chance to release the great music for the series the “way” you originally envisioned them, would you do it?

SJ: Many people have asked me this, and I am interested in the idea. There are no plans yet, but I may pursue this in the future.

Of course, “Transformers 4” is coming. Will you be returning to the series?

Transformers Monopoly - Chocolate Edition
Posted by News Fetcher on November 05 '13 at 07:15 AM
By StayingInTheBox from TFW2005:
In a bit of oddity news (and also very tasty) TFW2005 member griffin-of-oz has shared with us a recent purchase of the board game Transformers Monopoly - Chocolate Edition. Yes, you're thinking correctly, this Monopoly game is made up of chocolate bits!

Hasbro releases chocolate editions of their games every so often where typical game pieces such as property cards in this case are replaced with bits of chocolate. Essentially you can play the game once, eat your chocolate, and then figure out something to do with the left over pieces.

The game was purchased for AU$18 (US$17) at David Jones stores in Australia so no sure sign this will be released elsewhere. The chocolate edition game claims to have the "finest Belgian Chocolate" with an "expiration date" of January 1st 2015 for the chocolate, so don't worry you have some time to play!

Hat tip to UltraMarginal of Ozformers for the extra images! Check them all out after the jump!

Dark of the Moon Jetwing Optimus Prime - Black Friday Exclusive at TRU - $50!
Posted by News Fetcher on November 05 '13 at 05:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Toys R Us via a scan of an advert on Black Friday Ads.net have revealed they will have a special Transformers item for the post-Thanksgiving Black Friday sales. Toys R Us will have the Jetwings Optimus Prime - previously only available as an Amazon.com exclusive or an import from Japan - for the shocking value price of $50. For those unfamiliar with this toy, your $50 gets you not only a Leader Class Optimus Prime toy but also a gigantic flying wing accessory and duel large gatling cannons (Leader Class toys frequently retailing for $40 - $45 on their own, without the huge accessory).

It's a fantastic deal with the only downside being that the sale starts at 5pm on Thanksgiving itself rather than on Black Friday. Come on TRU, give your employees a well-deserved holiday like the rest of us!

TFC Toys has revealed via their weibo account official and final product images of the final set for their Uranos Project. This accessory kit provides Uranos, aka Superion, with a few final optional components to complete the character. Included in this set are; a g1 styled chest shield and crotch plate, a G1 style blaster, and hand guns and missiles for the individual jets. All of which can combine into their own jet/gunship. These images suggest that the set is completed and should hopefully be shipping to retailers soon.

TFW's Masterpiece MP18 Streak (Bluestreak) Gallery Now Online!
Posted by News Fetcher on November 03 '13 at 03:45 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
For our next gallery, we proudly present a look at Takara-Tomy's latest entry into the Transformers Masterpiece series, MP-18 Streak! Streak, better known to Western fans as Bluestreak or Silverstreak, is the a member of the Datsun Fairlady Z trio along with Prowl and Smokescreen. He's the understated one usually, although as this Masterpiece release proves, Streak is every bit as awesome as the other Datsun Autobots.

Streak is, simply put, a joy. He looks excellent in both modes with a fantastic deco and an excellent design. The deco is phenomenal, with the black and the silver both being nice and glossy, and the figure's robot mode perfectly capturing the spirit of the animation design. Streak is a worthy update to the original character and a brilliant addition to the Masterpiece line, building on the strong showing already put forward by Prowl and Sideswipe.

With Smokescreen set to release soon, and Bumblebee and Wheeljack ahead of us in 2014, we're extremely excited for what's coming next in the Masterpiece line. Check out our gallery by SydneyY by opening the link below and see why!

Beast Hunters 2014 Voyager Predaking and Optimus Prime In Package Image

By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Entertainment Earth has updated their site with an image of the Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Voyager Class Wave 5 Predaking and Optimus Prime aka the enlarged Cyberverse Commander toolings. As Hasbro stated when these toys were unveiled at Botcon 2013, these toys are big, and Predaking barely fits in the standard Voyager Class box. They are stated to be due in December this year, which if previous trends are anything to go by means they won't really turn up at retail until post Christmas restocks take place in many stores.

Xovergen Godbomber Apex Armor Trailerforce-02
Posted by News Fetcher on November 02 '13 at 08:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Xovergen, who previously brought fans such releases as the Grand Patriot Rolling Thunder Optimus Prime and the Masterarmor Powermaster Optimus Prime have revealed their latest project on their Facebook. Their as yet unnamed Trailerforce-02 is a take on the Transformers character Godbomber / Apex Bomber, a secondary trailer to Powermaster Optimus Prime's Japanese incarnation Super Ginrai who would combine with the base figure to form God Ginrai / Apex Armor Optimus Prime. Like the original, this product is speculated to be more than just another robot; the Masterarmor box teased a possible God Ginrai form, this new unofficial Transformer from Xovergen just might be the realisation of that ambition.
