TFW's Botcon 2013 Troop Builder Figure Galleries Now Online
Posted by News Fetcher on August 01 '13 at 02:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
For part three of our Botcon 2013 Toy Galleries update, we wish to draw your attention to our galleries of this year's troop builder set, the Rainmakers. This trio who were the first Decepticons to appear in the first ever Transformers cartoon episode More the Meets the Eye Part 1 are all redecos of the Transformers Classics Starscream jet mold. Sunstorm, Bitstream and Hotlink represent the most ambitious troop builder from Fun Publications so far for the Transformers brand as each one has their own unique deco, rather than the same deco just with different heads like the Junkion set from 2012. It is the first time this trio has (officially) been represented in the Classics line, and they serve to build up your Seeker Armada with more troops for Starscream to command.

New Transformers 4 Set Photo Reveals A New Weapon
Posted by News Fetcher on July 31 '13 at 07:00 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Latest spy image from the set of Transformers 4 reveals a new Sword-like Weapon. This sword is wielded by none-other-than Mark Wahlberg himself.

There is no confirmation whether the weapon is human-made or not, but judging by the look of the sword, it looks as though it's Cybertronian in origin.

Transformers Fans already went ahead and given various names for the sword. The most popular speculation being… well what else… The Star Saber. But what do you think this is? Tell us your opinion by replying to the thread associated with this News Post.

For tonight's update of our Botcon 2013 Exclusive Toy Galleries, we are bringing you a look at the at-show attendee souvenir figures! These figures were available in limited quantities to the attendees of Botcon 2013 in San Diego, and in this fan's opinion they complement the main set quite well, as well as rounding out the Machine Wars cast lineup.

We're following that up with a look at the souvenir figure two packs of Autobot Electrons (aka Classics Generation 2 Electro) with Sandstorm, and Mirage with Thundercracker.

Transformers 4 Detroit Filming On Set Pictures, Video and Report
Posted by News Fetcher on July 31 '13 at 01:01 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Transformers 4 is filming in Detroit today at the set that was designed to double up as Hong Kong, and by all accounts, the action being filmed is a positively explosive action / fight scene involving Mark Wahlberg and others running out of a restaurant and sheltering behind Autobot Hound in vehicle mode. Lots of pictures of the filming have been posted, both from people observing the set and from news outlets including Michigan Movies and More and The Detroit Free Press, the latter of whom also has a report about what is going on today on set.

There are also some videos showing the action being filmed on set, of which this one by PishPosh.tv on Vimeo shows the lead up to the explosions (and Autobot Hound!) while this one from MLive shows a better view on the explosions which are in typical Michael Bay fashion.

Transformers Legends Game Covert Operations Episode
Posted by News Fetcher on July 31 '13 at 12:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
The next event for the Transformers Legends game has been posted, and begins today! Hot on the heels of the "Full Assault" event, we now have an event called "Covert Operations" which brings us a clash between Autobots Prowl and Blaster (and by the looks of it, his cassettes) and Soundwave (who has also brought minions along)

Autobot operations have seen a series of setbacks lately. Each incident in itself may seem harmless, but the Autobots Blaster and Prowl have seen a pattern emerging where every major Autobot operation is slowly hampered and brought to a slowdown. Too delicate for a regular Decepticon ploy, this Decepticon operation is all about stealth, infiltration and hit and run attacks. In a response the Autobots send their best operatives that are the perfect fit to counter this new threat…

The poster is also tagged "arrival of the evolution cards" so we might also see some new gameplay features added with this event.

Posted by News Fetcher on July 31 '13 at 12:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Fox 2 Detroit on Facebook reports that one of the next Detroit landmarks to be featured in Transformers 4 will be the distinctive Rosa Parks Transit Center. The center, designed by Parsons Brinckerhoff and completed in July 2009, features a unique feature in the form of its seven large white fabric canopies which hang over the bus transfer area. According to Fox 2 Detroit, filming will close the center for all of Sunday, commencing at 5 am Sunday morning. The center will reopen on Monday at 5 am.

What part will it play in Transformers 4, which has been described as a "chase from hell"? Will it get blown up or see a Decepticon rampage through it? We'll find out in good time - and we will bring you more news on this and all other things Transformers 4 as they become available.

Today we are proud to share with you our first Botcon 2013 Exclusive Toy Galleries. Tonight we are kicking off with galleries of the five toys from this year's convention boxed set, Machine Wars Termination.

This year's boxed set showcased the myriad of the different aesthetics that exist in the Transformers line today, with the sleek clean designs of the Prime series, the retro styles of Generations and the highly detailed style of the Movie series. Though the styles vary, the choice of a unified theme in the colors - muted, homaging the original toys, and generally militaristic themed - means that the set does gel together nicely. And while some (Megaplex) stick out a bit, they all stand well as having generally some nice attractive decos, and being a fun homage to an obscure era of Transformers.

Check out the galleries of the five boxed set toys by opening the link below - and check back again tomorrow for our next update!

Mark Wahlberg's children to appear in Transformers 4

By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
More news on the Mark Wahlberg front tonight - it seems that Transformers 4 is going to be a true family production in that Mark Wahlberg is not going to be the only member of his family in the movie! Mark Wahlberg's children visited the set in Detroit, Mark Wahlberg told Jimmy Fallon in an interview, and they were excited for their dad being in a movie for the first time ever, prompting Mark Wahlberg to ask Michael Bay if his kids could be in the movie. One impromptu audition later, and all four of the young Wahlbergs are going to appear in Transformers 4, possibly at scenes filmed in Chicago.

Mark Wahlberg Interview Hint Dinobots Involvement On Transformers 4
Posted by News Fetcher on July 30 '13 at 09:30 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
MTV had the pleasure of interviewing actor Mark Wahlberg and they dropped the good ol’ Dinobots question.

When asked whether there would be any Dinobots on Transformers 4 the actor replied "None of your business. You don't want me to get replaced halfway through production for divulging secrets".

Mr. Wahlberg mentioned that the new installment feels unlike anything that has come before it, thanks in part to the character he has taken on. "It feels like a completely different movie, very fresh," he said. "Obviously, it's a really interesting dynamic, being a young, single dad having a teenage daughter, trying to succeed as an inventor, having very little means and also trying to provide for my family. Then all hell breaks loose."
