Toyfair Australia Transformers Display Pictures
Posted by News Fetcher on March 04 '13 at 02:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Our fellow fans from Australia, the Ozformers, have shared pictures from the 2013 Australian Toy Fair. It is light on new reveals - the greatest part of the new stuff having been seen at the US Toy Fair last month - but there are some new items such as:

Back of box images for Generations Springer and Blitzwing

Confirmation that Generations Blitzwing has three faces, and is inspired by his Animated counterpart.

A second five-figure booster pack of Kreons is revealed, collecting Optimus Prime, Sentinel Prime, Megatron, Soundwave and a mystery fifth figure

Marvel Transformers Crossovers return - sort of - in the Iron Man 3 line which features transforming figures "with Transformers technology"

Check out their full coverage here. Note that there were a couple of things on display they were not allowed to share, and these are blurred out in the pictures.

As a bonus, here are the bios for Springer and Blitzwing, as transcribed by 2005 Boards member AutobotMirage:

Autobot Springer:

Autobot Springer was built to be a tough guy. Everything about him, from his nickel-plated blaster cannon to his bad-boy attitude, is calculated to communicate exactly what he wants it to-that he's a no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners kind of guy. He prefers to fight alone, trusting his skills and luck to get him out of tight spots, rather than relying on his fellow warriors. After all, other Autobots fail. Autobot Springer never does.

Blitzwing:

Jeff Kline Interview - Beast Hunters Series Hints, New Characters & The Next TV Series
Posted by News Fetcher on March 03 '13 at 04:00 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Transformers: Prime producer Jeff Kline has recently sat down with Hero Complex for an interview regarding the upcoming 3rd and Final Season of Transformers: Prime; titled Beast Hunters.

At the interview Mr. Kline briefly states that there will be new characters, some of which long time fans would please to see. However, the names will be kept in secret till the reveal.

"There will be new allies as well, some familiar to longtime fans, but those remain secret. The good guys will need them, too, since many of their own have fallen, and the producers have shown a willingness to thin the ranks."

Finally, the producer mentions what we might see in the future. That’s right, a new Transformers cartoon series… the next iteration after Transformers: Prime and its rebranded Season 3; Beast Hunters:

"Kline said the creative team is working on a new “Transformers” show that could go into production soon, but he was reluctant to reveal too many details. As for “Transformers Prime,” he believes viewers ultimately will feel as though the saga has reached an appropriate conclusion.

"I believe that at the end of episode 313, you will feel like this particular tale in the ‘Transformers’ mythology has been told,” Kline said. “Hopefully there will be some surprises, but you will be satisfied".
"

You can read the original article at Hero Complex.

Transformers: Prime Season 3 - Beast Hunters will debut this March 22nd on Hasbro-Discovery Hub TV Network with a Red Carpet Premiere on March 16th.

Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Mid-Season Break & Final Season Confirmed
Posted by News Fetcher on March 01 '13 at 11:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
IGN has posted additional information about Transformers Prime Beast Hunters, direct from Hasbro and The Hub. First up is the confirmation that the series is coming to its end with this season, as we have previously heard - these final episodes will mark the conclusion of the Transformers Prime saga.

Second there is also confirmation that the series will be taking a break approximately four episodes in. We're basing that figure on IGN's report that starting Friday, April 19 (about four weeks after the season premiere) the first four episodes will be rerun in special encore presentations with additional content called "Autobits" - "behind-the-scenes trivia with exclusive in-picture commentary designed to create an immersive viewing experience."

IGN then goes on to state that new episodes will resume in May. We'd imagine based on the pattern presented that this would fall around 17 May for episode 5's airdate, but watch this space for confirmation.

To whet your appetite, give stare over there to check out the latest Beast Hunters trailer!

Transformers Monstrosity #1 Released, introduces Bulkhead to the IDW Transformers Comics Universe
Posted by News Fetcher on March 01 '13 at 10:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
The first issue of IDW's next Transformers digital-only series, Monstrosity, has been released today and with it a new character has been added to IDW's Transformers comics universe. That character is none other than the Autobot heavyweight, Bulkhead.

Ordinarily we would not report on every last new character to debut in a Transformers comic, but Bullkhead bears special mention, as he was first introduced in Transformers Animated five years ago and since then has gone on to be a mainstay of the Transformers Prime cast as well. Bulkhead's appearance here with silver jaw and head crest appears to be based on his Prime series appearance, but Bulkhead is Bulkhead, a rising star among a Transformers cast usually populated by mainstays of the franchise from its inception.

You can check out issue #1 of Monstrosity on Comixology here.

More than Meets the Eye Issue 14 Preview
Posted by News Fetcher on March 01 '13 at 10:15 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
iTunes Books has put up a brief three-page preview of the next issue of Transformers More than Meets the Eye, out next Wednesday. There's a fair amount of spoilers in this preview, even low-res as it is, so be warned if you want to go in to this issue. What we will share with you is this is a story which as writer James Roberts puts it, "gives one of the dominoes we've seen set up in the first 13 issues a little nudge, and sees where it all leads to". It is also covering flashbacks to 4.2 million years ago and to the Last Stand of the Wreckers.

If that's not enough, James Roberts has also stated this is the beginning of an eight-part story "in all sorts of ways". You can check out more of his teaser comments on the IDW forums via this post here.

Be sure to check it out in all its glory this coming Wednesday!

Transformers: The Movie (1986) Animated Storyboards of Deleted Scenes
Posted by News Fetcher on March 01 '13 at 07:15 AM
By Secretcode from TFW2005:
And now for something a bit old-school, thanks to The Spacebridge Facebook page, who has taken the storyboards used in the production of the 1986 Transformers movie and created animated storyboard videos from them, showing off two deleted/rewritten scenes.

Video 1: Devastator falls- "I have included a section of the film either side so you can see where it would have fit in. I believe this scene was animated as it exists in very late production notes & music was written to accompany it. It was cut as Nelson Shin felt it ruined the flow of Primes attack leading up to his battle with Megatron. Ultra Magnus, Tracks, Sideswipe & Red Alert were picked to attack Devastator as they all have rocket launchers. It also explains what Megatron was looking at when Prime found him."

Video 2: Ultra Magnus's original death- "In the storyboards Ultra Magnus had a much more barbaric death at the hands of the Sweeps. As you can see in the video, he is literally pulled apart. This scene was animated but removed due to concerns over the violence. There are many clues in the film that this scene should still be there. The audio matches this version exactly, Magnus sounds like he is being pulled apart. You see the Sweeps fire out 4 solid beams towards Magnus. Finally Galvatron catches the Matrix when it falls perfectly into his hands from above."

Big thanks to The Spacebridge for sharing these videos with us!

By Shin Densetsu from TFW2005:
The Ultimate Beast Hunters Are Back!
Grimlock and The Dinobots return this May!

San Diego, CA (February 28, 2013) –TRANSFORMERS fans hungering for more thrilling adventures with GRIMLOCK and his fierce DINOBOTS cohorts are in luck this May, when IDW Publishing presents TRANSFORMERS PRIME: BEAST HUNTERS! In this tie-in series to the upcoming season of “Transformers Prime” television show featuring the new BEAST HUNTERS saga, fans will get to experience a brand-new set of cyberfang-gnashing adventures based on the iconic brand from Hasbro!

For the thousands of years since the fall of CYBERTRON, the DINOBOTS haven’t been twiddling their claws! GRIMLOCK, SLUG. SLUDGE, SNARL and SWOOP have been martialing their forces and fighting the good fight against a slew of mysterious new villains.

The lauded creative team from TRANSFORMERS PRIME: RAGE OF THE DINOBOTS returns as writers Mairghread Scott and Mike Johnson team up with artist Agustin Padilla to chronicle the fierce AUTOBOT warriors’ resistance efforts. “There was a special kind of magic in that last TRANSFORMERS PRIME series,” said series Editor Carlos Guzman. “The fans really responded to the thrill-a-minute storytelling, and I can’t be more excited to work with Mairghread, Mike, and Agustin! And with our writers heavily involved in the Transformers Prime television series, we’re in a unique place to tell stories that matter!”

That story picks up miles beneath the charred remains of the TRANSFORMERS race’s smoldering home, CYBERTRON. As the survivors of CYBERTRON’s fall cling to the last bit of Energon left in its core, the DINOBOTS begin forging an unlikely network of hope underground, standing as beacons of resistance under constant attack, while they wait for the AUTOBOTS’ leader, OPTIMUS PRIME, to save them. While their efforts are nothing short of Herculean, can they hold off their shadowy assailants long enough for CYBERTRON to be saved? There’s only one way to find out!

Transformers Collectors Club Depth Charge Biocard
Posted by News Fetcher on February 28 '13 at 12:45 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
The Transformers Collectors Club's membership exclusive for 2013 - Depth Charge - has had his bio card posted on the official Transformers Facebook page. The bio paints an interesting story for this version of Depth Charge - he is a character who, after incarcerating Protoform X aka Rampage, returns to a Cybertron ravaged by war and is sent on a mission to hunt down Maximal traitors - a hunt that leads him to the world of the Transtechs, Axiom Nexus. It is therefore not entirely clear if this is meant to be the same Depth Charge from pre-Beast Wars on a dimension hopping journey, or a different incanation from another part of the Transformers multiverse.

Of course, one could say that does not matter since he'll be whatever you want him to be once he arrives in your collection. To get Depth Charge, you need to be an active member of the Transformers Collector's Club by 16 March, that is a little over two weeks away. Find out more and sign up over at the Transformers Collector's Club homepage.
