30 Years of Transformers in 30 Days - 1987
Posted by News Fetcher on April 11 '14 at 04:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Proving that you cannot keep a good robot down, Optimus Prime returned to the land of moving parts in a two part episode titled The Return of Optimus Prime in 1987. The toyline began to diversify, introducing new gimmicks such as the Doublespy, Headmasters and Targetmasters. Meanwhile Japan diverged from the US cartoon continuity and got a new full-length series called The Headmasters, and for the first time, Transformers toys were released as Japanese market exclusives.

Mark Wahlberg and Optimus Prime at Reshoots for Transformers 4 Age of Extinction
Posted by News Fetcher on April 11 '14 at 01:30 AM
By TunaKaan from TFW2005:
A week ago, we reported that there are some signs over at Los Angeles that indicate some reshoots for Transformers 4 Age of Extinction. And looks like it was true.

Just Jared website managed to take couple of pictures from the reshoots that took place in Los Angeles on April 9. It shows Mark Wahlberg and Optimus Prime (in Westernstar mode) have some business to take care of. Mark is fully clothed and has no wounds on his face so the scene they're shooting might take place in U.S.A. rather than Hong Kong. Maybe right before the fight between Optimus and Galvatron in Michigan highway.

Check out the rest of the images at the attachments.

Entertainment Weekly Reveals New Details on Transformers 4 Age of Extinction - New Grimlock Image
Posted by News Fetcher on April 11 '14 at 01:00 AM
By TunaKaan from TFW2005:
For this week's issue, Entertainment Weekly focused mainly on this summer's blockbusters and of course Transformers 4 Age of Extinction is one of them.

In this two paged preview filled with new interviews, director Michael Bay explains that this is a whole new trilogy and a fresh start, but he's not entirely sure if he'll direct the sequels. Mark Wahlberg on the other hand, gives us a few plot details on how the government is now againts the Autobots and talks about the dynamic between his character and Optimus Prime who has lost all faith in humankind. Lastly, Jack Reynor talks about the explosions and being have to act in front of things that are not actually there.

The article also features a whole new screenshot of Grimlock and he looks like he's about to use his iconic fire-breath. Article also gives us a few facts about the T-Rex mode like it's ''150 feet long from the tail to the nostrils, 63.5 feet tall from the ground to the top of his horns, and weigh 850 tons.''

You can check out the photo of the article (provided by TFLAMB) and the transcript of the interviews after the jump.

Takara's LA-01 Battle Command Optimus Prime New Larger Images
Posted by News Fetcher on April 10 '14 at 01:15 PM
By StayingInTheBox from TFW2005:
Fresh off our news reported yesterday about the newly revealed LA-01 Battle Command Optimus Prime from Takara, TFW2005 board member Powerglide1991 has supplied us with a new larger image of the product.

We get a much better look at the trailer and its various transformations as well as the Optimus Prime figure itself, which could possibly be a new, most likely simplified mold (we're judging this based off of the size comparisons with the Bumblebee figure also pictured).

Check out the new images here and let us know what you think!

Transformers Age of Extinction Toys Street Date Broken!
Posted by News Fetcher on April 10 '14 at 10:30 AM
By Tony_Bacala from TFW2005:
Transformers Age of Extinction toys are supposed to be released on May 17th, 2014. Some form of online preorder event before that. As reported earlier today, Wal-Mart stores in the USA are starting to get their shipments of AoE toys, presumably to hold in waiting for that 5/17/14 date. But, of course, that has been ignored in at least one store so far. TF4 AoE toys are officially in the wild as of today. Couple that with the slew that are on eBay, coming from Chinese sellers, Canadian sellers, and other sources - if you want AoE toys you can probably get them right now. Check the pic after the break.

30 Years of Transformers in 30 Days - 1986
Posted by News Fetcher on April 10 '14 at 05:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
In 1986, Transformers entered its third year and featured the debut of the first assortments of Transformers toys that had been designed specifically for the Transformers line, with characters like Hot Rod, Kup, Galvatron and Metroplex making their first appearance this year. The Transformers comics continued strongly with the introduction of the RAAT and a crossover with G.I. Joe in the USA, and in the UK, a classic story, Target 2006. And on August 8, 1986, Transformers arrived on the big screen for the first time with Transformers the Movie - and a generation of children were shocked for life as they learned that sometimes, even heroes die.

Gacha Tomy Transformers Battle Disk Shooters
Posted by News Fetcher on April 10 '14 at 03:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
An interesting discovery comes to us from Kaufland supermarkets in Germany, who do not usually stock Transformers product. They are carrying a series of "Battle Disk Shooters" from Tomy's subsidiary Gacha. The disk shooters seem like something you'd find on the cover of the UK Transformers comic by Titan Magazines, and each one comes with a target, a disk shooter and a pair of disks. They're available in eight different styles, and while their packaging is done in the new 2014 standard style, the artwork used is as far as we can see from the Transformers Prime series.

Age of Extinction Dino Sparkers Bumblebee with Strafe Set Image
Posted by News Fetcher on April 10 '14 at 03:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Hound Meta has posted a new image to The Ragin Nation on Facebook, showing some official Hasbro photography of the Age of Extinction Dino Sparker Bumblebee with Strafe set. Like the other Dino Sparkers, Strafe "lights up" with sparks when he is rolled along a surface - the idea is this set can "joust" with other Age of Extinction Dino Sparkers as kids try to knock the riders off their Dinobot mounts.

Jagex Transformers Universe New Character Artwork
Posted by News Fetcher on April 09 '14 at 01:01 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Jagex are at The Gadget Show Live in Birmingham in the UK this week through Sunday with their Transformers MOTA (Massive Online Tactical Action). We stopped by to check out the game, which is looking very slick and promises to be a lot of fun when it launches this summer.

What we thought might interest you would be a look at the cool artwork of the characters adorning Jagex's booth. Along with their own creations including Conduit and Duststorm, it might interest you to know that the booth featured some new artwork for a few classic Transformers characters including Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee (we also think that you might be looking at Ratchet and possibly Arcee or Elita-1 in some of the other pieces)

We've also learned that the setting of the game has shifted - while at its inception, Transformers Universe was going to be a part of the Aligned Continuity with Transformers Prime and the War for Cybertron series, it is now a separate entity all of its own under the Transformers Generations banner (hence the reinterpretation of some classic characters)

The team at Jagex are very excited for the game and have a lot of cool stuff in store to reveal going forward - so be sure to keep eyes on our site right here and the Transformers Universe homepage for more information.

Previously we've brought you a news regarding the technology behind the Ariel Photography of Transformers: Age Of Extinction. For the task, ShotOver K1 Camera Systems were used.

Transformers Cybertron DVD Release This August
Posted by News Fetcher on April 09 '14 at 06:45 AM
By StayingInTheBox from TFW2005:
Hat tip goes out to TFW2005 boards member captain N for pointing us in the right direction to an Amazon listing for Transformers Cybertron: The Complete Series. Shout Factory is making a push to have this series released on DVD this August 5th at an MSRP of $44.99, but you can pre-order it now on Amazon for around $31!

The Cybertron DVD news was first reported by TVShowsOnDvd.com, which they've also pointed out the Amazon listing currently states the product is for "The Complete Series," though that could just be an Amazon glitch. They were able to grab a screen shot earlier with the listing stating is was indeed for Transformers Cybertron.

Will you be purchasing the final arc of the Unicron Trilogy? Sound off after the jump!

Transformers 4 Age of Extinction Takara LA-01 Battle Command Optimus Prime Image
Posted by News Fetcher on April 09 '14 at 04:30 AM
By Mechafire from TFW2005:
Robotkingdom has put up a listing for the Takara-exclusive Transformers: Age of Extinction LA-01 Battle Command Optimus Prime figure. From what can be made out in the blurry image, it seems to be the Advanced AD-01 Optimus Prime figure done up in a slightly more movie-accurate deco. But the main attraction of the product is the trailer, which appears to transform into a DOTM-styled jetwing pack that the Autobot leader can wear.

Check it out after the jump and share your thoughts in the discussion thread.
