E-Hobby Classics Magnificus / Mebion Revealed
Posted by News Fetcher on March 20 '13 at 10:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Some sleuthing from Snakas has uncovered a fresh image of the E-Hobby Mebion / Magnificus that was teased yesterday. As speculated, the image confirms that what was being teased was a black, Decepticon version of Reveal the Shield Perceptor (complete with alternate, toy accurate head sculpt). According to Snakas, E-Hobby is due to start preorders on this item on March 26, with the preorder period closing at 12:00PM, May 8th. The release is priced at 5,500 yen.

Snakas urges just a little caution in his report though - the image of Mebion shown here was uncovered through manipulating the URL of yesterday's teaser image - so much like the Botcon 2010 Clench as Octane redeco, it could be a red herring. However we feel that the overwhelming balance of the evidence so far points to this being the genuine article.

BAPE X Transformers 2013 Red Camo Optimus Prime
Posted by News Fetcher on March 19 '13 at 09:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
The third of the BAPE X Transformers Optimus Primes has been revealed. After a green Optimus and a grey Optimus, BAPE's third Generation 1 Optimus Prime exclusive is a red version, apparently based on the BAPE MILO shirt. It's a very red Optimus Prime - perhaps he's caught a touch of the hate plague? It's due for a release on Saturday 30th March 2013. Moreover, a 2 metre tall statue of Optimus Prime will also be on show at the BAPE store in Shibuya.

Check out the original page (in Japanese) at the other end of this link. There's also some new licensed Transformers clothing - sneakers and shirts - for you to check out there.

Beast Hunters Cyberverse Wave 2 In Hand Images
Posted by News Fetcher on March 19 '13 at 09:45 AM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
In hand images of the third wave of Cyberverse figures from the new Beast Hunters line have surfaced courtesy of freaky777 over on fellow fansite seibertron. Wave three consists of Terrorcon Hun-Gurr and Prowl, a redeco of Smokescreen. Prowl rocks his traditional black and white color scheme while brandishing his new weapon, the justice hammer. Hun-Gurr will be the second individually released Terrorcon cyberverse figure. These pictures also confirm that the individual Terrorcon figures can, in fact, combine. No additional pieces will be needed to merge the figures into Abominus. The third figure in this wave, Soundwave, isn't shown in this batch of pictures, but hopefully some in hand images won't be far behind.

New Size Comparison Picture for MP-17 Prowl
Posted by News Fetcher on March 19 '13 at 08:45 AM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
Shogo Hasui has once again updated his Twitter with a new image of the next Masterpiece figure, MP-17 Prowl. This picture offers us a look at the size comparison with Sideswipe (which we've seen) but also with Human Alliance figures Jazz and Barricade. Shogo says in the tweet (via Google translate)

MP Prowl is, with an emphasis on alignment and height of MP Ranboru. How to fold the legs had a hard time both. Movement and deformation of parts, how to fold, the experience gained, such as Movie Human Alliance is taking advantage of big

Take a look at the new image after the break.

E-Hobby Teases Next Exclusive
Posted by News Fetcher on March 19 '13 at 06:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
E-Hobby have updated their website with a tease for an upcoming project. There are three red lights and the words "look closer" in the background. A closer inspection reveals six seemingly random letters hidden in the three red lights, which the sharp eyed have worked out can be made to spell out "Mebion".

It's up to interpretation, but "Mebion" has been referenced in E-Hobby fiction before. The character whose bio referenced Mebion? Magnificus, a black and red version of Perceptor, based on his Microman deco. And what is one of the main features of the deco of Reveal the Shield Perceptor, if not the three lights on top of his roof in vehicle mode.

So pulling all that together, is E-Hobby teasing a Reveal the Shield Perceptor redecoed as Classics Magnificus?

Gregg Berger and Flint Dille to attend TFExpo 2013 in Wichita, Kansas!
Posted by News Fetcher on March 18 '13 at 02:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
We have received an update from the folks organizing Kansas' Transformers convention experience, TFExpo 2013. The good news is that they have not one but two guests to announce today - attending TFExpo in Wichita, Kansas this year is the one and only Gregg Berger (Skyfire, Grimlock and Outback, amongst many others) who will be taking part in a script reading event. Joining Gregg is Flint Dille, writer and story editor of Transformers and G.I. Joe including the classic five-part Generation 1 season 3 premiere story arc Five Faces of Darkness.

But that's not all! TFExpo has announced its first exclusive toy. Nebula Starship is an after-market upgrade set which includes a new head and wings to attach to your existing toy. This set will be given to everyone pre-registering with the TFExpo Alliance at the Ultra and Premium Levels.
