Rescue Bots Optimus Prime with Trailer Released in the US

A new sighting for Transformers Rescue Bots fans - the latest Optimus Prime for the Rescue Bots series, the Optimus Prime Rescue Trailer set, has been found at US retail. The set contains a new transforming version of Rescue Bots Optimus Prime along with his Rescue Trailer which he can use to transport four of the other Rescue Bots. The set was found at the Federal Way Target in Kent, Washington. Many thanks to 2005 Boards member Hollywood Hoist for the heads up!

Amazon has updated with preorder links for Transformers Prime Predacons Rising. Predacons Rising, a straight to DVD / Blu-Ray follow on to Transformers Prime Beast Hunters, is due to arrive in glorious high-definition Blu-Ray on October 1st 2013; if you are getting this series on DVD, you'll have to wait an extra week until October 8th 2013 to get your copy.

Transformers Motion Comics Coming to Madefire

Madefire, a pioneering group who make "motion comics" incorporating animation, sound, and even music into comics, have announced that they have entered into a deal with IDW Publishing, according to IGN. This deal will see comics from IDW's line including Transformers adapted to incorporate motion features in a very cool way.

Artist Marvin Mariano to attend TFcon 2013

TFcon is happy to welcome back Transformers toy designer and artist Marvin Mariano to the 2013 convention. Marvin’s involvement with the Transformers franchise includes packaging design and concept illustrations for Transformers Armada, Transtech, the Transformers Movie and Transformers/Star Wars Crossovers. Examples of Transformer characters he has worked on are: Obsidian (Beast Machines), Transtech/Armada – Optimus, Megatron, Cheetor, Black Arachnia, Shockwave, and Starscream to name a few. Marvin will be setup in the TFcon artist alley all weekend.

Transformers Dark Prelude Trade Paperback Cover

Amazon has updated its listing for Transformers Dark Prelude (formerly just Prelude) with a cover and a "look inside" feature. The Dark Prelude trade paperback covers the six most recent Transformers Spotlight issues, and the cover shows those six characters along with an image of what seems to be Metroplex in the background.

Transformers Dark Prelude, the prelude to this fall's Dark Cybertron event kicking off in November, is due for a release on 27 August 2013.

Transformers Prime Hallmark Christmas Ornament

It's Christmas in July? Maybe not, but Hallmark has put up a listing for their 2013 Christmas ornament symbolically indicating we have passed the Summer Solstice and are on our way to the far end of the year. Hallmark's 2013 Christmas ornament is Transformers Prime themed, and features the head of Transformers Prime Optimus Prime, complete with lightup eyes. It also apparently plays some kind of voice clip. If you've been collecting the Transformers themed Hallmark ornaments these past few years, this is one for you!

Transformers Prime Bumblebee to Speak in the Transformers Prime Finale

Hasbro's official Transformers Facebook page has dropped a bombshell of a spoiler for the Transformers Prime season finale, Deadlock, airing on 26 July. In the season finale episode, they have revealed that the mute Autobot Bumblebee will finally speak. Will it be a fond farewell to friends or something suitably epic for the finale? You'll have to tune in on 26 July to find out - unless you are attending the San Diego Comic Con, where you'll get a preview of the moment this Thursday at 18 July at 11am PT!

Arkvander of Charticon dropped by our 2005 Boards to announce that two more guests will be attending Charticon 2013. Artists Brian Shearer (Transformers, G.I. Joe, Doctor Who and co-creator of GravyBoy) and John Wycough (inker on Last Stand of the Wreckers, Robots in Disguise and More Than Meets the Eye to name but three) will be attending this August in Charlotte NC.

Charticon 2013 will be taking place over the weekend of 9-11 August 2013 at the Crowne Plaza in Charlotte NC. Find out more and pre-register for this year's convention at the Charticon homepage!

The Predacons Rising Target Exclusives have been dropping state side all week, and 2005 Boards member alkamist found the Abominus gift set in his local California target today too. The DPCI is 087-06-2431 and it was priced at $24.99. Happy hunting!

Han Geng Joins Transformers 4

Director Michael Bay dropped by his website to leave behind a message stating that popular Chinese artist (singer, dancer, actor and model) Han Geng has joined the cast of Transformers 4.

"He's one of Asia's top stars in the worlds of music, television and movies and has become one of the most influential entertainers in China.

Now he’ll also be known for Transformers 4. Welcome Han Geng to the cast of Transformers 4.
