TFW Generations Springer Gallery
Posted by News Fetcher on May 11 '13 at 06:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Autobot Springer is the subject of our next site gallery update. A strong, reliable Autobot warrior, Springer was the first full Autobot Triple Changer to be introduced in 1986 with Transformers the Movie. An extremely competent warrior not afraid to get his hands dirty, Springer is frequently depicted as leader of the Autobot's special team, The Wreckers, a role he filled during IDW's Last Stand of the Wreckers by Nick Roche and James Roberts, which is the version of the character which this toy is based on.

And wow - what a toy! Springer is the model of what all good Transformers toys should be like, in this writer's humble opinion. Full of personality in his robot mode design, with lots of poseability and clever engineering, this is one of those toys that really stands out as a showcase of what Hasbro and Takara-Tomy's Transformers design teams are capable of. Springer's three modes are all present and correct, and all nicely distinct from one another. The weapons can integrate and store in each mode, and even combine to form a much larger weapon.

Overall - this version of Springer is another definitive version of the character. Completely recommended to any and all; I fully expect this one will be on more than a few fans "top toy of 2013" lists next to Blitzwing and Masterpiece Soundwave.

Generations Voyager Sandstorm to be Released in Wave 4
Posted by News Fetcher on May 11 '13 at 05:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
News reaches us that the release of the Generations Voyager Class Sandstorm has been confirmed for Wave 4 of the Generations Voyager series. Sandstorm is the lone new toy in the assortment, and will be shipping two per case along with one Blitzwing and one Springer, according to this listing on Big Bad Toy Store.

It is not yet known exactly what the Sandstorm toy will look like - Big Bad Toy Store's listing lacks photos at the time of writing - but we have previously seen an image of a VTOL vehicle on Metroplex's box art which is widely assumed to be Sandstorm. If that art is an accurate representation, then Sandstorm may well be a remolded version of Generations Springer, based on similarities in the overall shape of the vehicle.

Prime Studio 1 Teases Movie Optimus Prime Statue Release

By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Prime Studio 1, who are making an awesome licensed polystone statue of Revenge of the Fallen Megatron, have posted a teaser photo on their Facebook showing off their next project. This release, MMTFM-02, is speculated to be a shield accessory part for an Optimus Prime statue - the shield design seems to match up to one that Optimus used in Transformers Dark of the Moon.

The accessory was originally displayed at the Hollywood Convention in the Kudanshita Hotel in Japan on 5-6 May, along with Prime Studio 1's Megatron. More reveals are expected to be announced over the next month.

By Superquad7 from TFW2005:
eHobby provides an news update on their site that certainly falls in line with their current relationship with Fun Publications by offering this year's Botcon exclusive sets for sale. eHobby will be taking preorders for their Botcon 2013 sets on May 13, 2013.

This news also comes from an email sent to eHobby customers in Japan. In this email, they mention that they will also be selling limited numbers of "TFCC exclusives", which most likely means the subscription service figures (though this isn't confirmed). The preorder price for the boxed set on the eHobby page is 54,500 yen, which converts to around $538 USD.

Also notable is a mock-up of the set's package artwork. Whether or not this is the finalized version of the box still remains to be seen. However, it's certainly enough of a glimpse to get fans to anticipate this release a bit more!

The Official Transformers Facebook page has posted official images of two upcoming releases from Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commander Wave 4. The two new figures in this assortment are both Autobots - they are a redeco of Cyberverse Commander Optimus Prime and Huffer. The Optimus Prime is a green version of the Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commander Optimus Prime from Wave 1, who has traded up his missile launcher for a shield. Huffer is a straight up redeco of Trailcutter, and looks rather eye-catching in his traditional orange and blue style.
