Update: Prank Or Not? Transformers 4, 5 & 6 Filming Back-To-Back
Posted by News Fetcher on April 01 '13 at 07:01 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Not sure if Michael Bay is serious or playing a Transforming Alien Robot sized April Fools' Day Joke.

Official Website of Director Michael Bay has been updated with the following info:

"Transformers 4, 5, & 6 will begin filming back to back starting June 2013.

More details to follow."

At this point, this newsie wouldn't be surprised to see "More details to follow" would simply be a message shouting "April Fools!!!"

However, this is Michael Bay we are talking about. He could actually be telling the truth... guised as a prank.

Update: Michael Bay Site Admin left this message at the S4TE Forums for those asking if this is an April Fools' Day joke:

"When was the last time you saw us joke around here?"

Transformers Spotlight Trailcutter Preview
Posted by News Fetcher on April 01 '13 at 04:15 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
IDW has released the preview for this week's new Transformers comic release, Spotlight Trailcutter. Trailbreaker takes the centre stage in this issue that feels very much like a lost chapter of More than Meets the Eye (in fact, it is - it fits between issues #5 and #6 of the ongoing). Herein lies a tale of a reluctant force-field specialist being helped to reinvent himself by the surly ex-watchmaker and ex-Wrecker Whirl - including in this preview the story of how Trailbreaker came to be known in-universe as Trailcutter.

This preview comes at you via PreviewsWorld, with a couple of additional pages not in their preview posted by our fellow fans at Fullmetalhero.

Lorenzo Di Bonventure Speaks On A Transformers & G.I.Joe Crossover Film?
Posted by News Fetcher on March 30 '13 at 07:15 PM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
Get your grains of salt ready to take! Comicbookmovie.com has posted an excerpt from an interview with Cinema Blend and producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura (Transformers and G.I.Joe films). Given the success of Marvel's Avengers and a possible Justice League film from Warner Bros, the question was asked if the producer would be open to doing a crossover film. While he seems hesitant and seemingly wants to focus on each properties very rich histories, he does say he'd be open to it if the right story came along. Read below what he had to say on the subject:

"I guess it’s possible. I don’t know. I think I probably at this moment, I resist it. I don’t know necessarily why, but I just think there’s so much that’s so rich in the mythologies that I don’t think they need to draw from the other. I think, I didn’t rule it out for me and I think those things have somehow for me, sort of in the past, they made me feel like a little bit cynical exercises in just drawing money out of something. It’s not to say you couldn’t do it well, but both these properties have such rich mythologies with so many characters, that you could go a lot of movies before you start running out of ideas of what to do. But it’s not to say, if we found the right… I’d hate to set out to do that, but if I heard a story where we went, “Oh my God…,” I could see a story right now about machination, machination of war and that could lead you sort of intrinsically to a Transformer. I think in general, Marvel is doing it within their own universe, right? And so it doesn’t feel gimmicky in that way. I think that’s what I would really try to resist."

TFW Beast Hunters Shockwave Gallery
Posted by News Fetcher on March 30 '13 at 09:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Hopefully you all enjoyed yesterday's Transformers Prime episode Scattered which added Shockwave to the Decepticon team! In an ironic twist of timing his toy also just hit US retail so here is a gallery of the new addition to the Decepticon team for you!

Beast Hunters Shockwave is, put simply, an excellent toy. He's not perfect, but he is big and bulky. He feels huge and imposing as Shockwave - in particular Prime Shockwave - is often made up to be. Not only is he big and bulky, but he is also extremely accurate to his look on the show, right down to hose on the cannon, which is implemented in a very cool way. While the tank mode feels a bit like an afterthought, it is accurate to the one you see driving up to Knock Out in Scattered.

Gimmicks include a spinning cannon on Shockwave's gun arm - the button of which is a little intrusive but not overly so and it is more imaginative than a shooting missile at least - and removable, optional Beast Armor. The armor is a fun extra, but you don't have to attach it, and for the most part I've been keeping it to one side.

All in all, Shockwave is a very well-recommended toy. He is big, imposing and looks just like he does in the show - and for this fan, that is all I could want from a toy of Shockwave.

Beast Hunters Deluxe Dreadwing In-Hand
Posted by News Fetcher on March 30 '13 at 08:15 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
By way of HK-TF member AKB48 we can now share some in-hand images of Beast Hunters Deluxe Dreadwing with you. Dreadwing like Skystalker is coming as a part of the third wave of Deluxe class Beast Hunters toys. His main weapon is his "Dread Assault Cannon" which as shown in these images can be broken down into a missile launcher and axe weapon as well as wielded as a massive two-handed weapon. These images also indicate the "butterfly wings" shown in the official images can be left closed in robot mode for a slightly more show-accurate look to the robot mode.

2005 Board member Prowl has dropped by to let us know that the third season of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters is now available on iTunes. As of right now, only the first episode "Darkmount, NV" is available. Hopefully, tomorrow, "Scattered" will become available. Don't have the Hub in your area or offered from your television provider? This should prove to be a great alternative.

By Secretcode from TFW2005:
Thanks to a thread over on HK-TF, we now have a decently sized gallery of the upcoming Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters Deluxe Skystalker. Another draconic Predacon, the fearsome blue Skystalker is decently poseable and comes with a pair of disc-launchers build into the wings. Skystalker is part of the third wave of Beast Hunters Deluxes, alongside Dreadwing and Ratchet.
