Transformers 4 Plot Summary Inaccurate?
Posted by News Fetcher on March 22 '13 at 12:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
We bet most of you saw this coming a mile off - Paramount, via Bleeding Cool News, has stated that the Transformers 4 plot details that were posted earlier this week by the Michigan Film Board are "inaccurate". That's all they've said "information previously posted is inaccurate"; which doesn't necessarily debunk everything, but for now it would be wise to take the previous report with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Masterpiece Prowl and Bluestreak Amazon Japan Exclusive Launchers
Posted by News Fetcher on March 21 '13 at 12:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Amazon Japan has updated its listings for Masterpiece Prowl and Masterpiece Streak (aka Bluestreak / Silverstreak) with details of the exclusive accessory they will be offering. As with recent Masterpiece releases, Amazon Japan will be offering a special accessory with preorders through their site. In Prowl and Bluestreak's case, this will be a launcher, modeled after the Generation 1 toy's missile launchers. Like the originals they clip on next to the toy's head - but unlike the originals, on these new Masterpieces they can attach to the vehicle modes as well. However Amazon is only including one launcher with each preorder, so unless you're a fan of the Binaltech Smokescreen GT single launcher look, fans will need to preorder both for the completed effect.

Check out the images attached to this story - please note they are only prototype images, so might change a little before the final versions come along.

Transformers Go Toy Decos Revealed in Japanese Hobby Magazine Scans
Posted by News Fetcher on March 21 '13 at 12:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
By way of a Japanese image board we have a look at the Transformers-related pages of one of the new Japanese hobby magazines. These scans give us our first look at some of the upcoming April release Transformers including our first-ever look at Takara-Tomy's Beast Hunters, Transformers Go! The decos on Takara-Tomy's toys are a departure from the US ones - from these scans we can see that:

Optimus Prime sports blue chest windows and a blue-bladed Star Saber, rather than the green on the US version.

Wheeljack, Starscream and Bulkhead, while keeping their armored looks and new accessories, feature more show-accurate paint jobs.

Soundwave looks very purple / royal blue, much darker than his usual coloration.

Shockwave sports black snap-on armor, rather than red

Predaking and Bumblebee seem largely unaltered from their US releases.

These toys do not come with Arms Microns and seem to be largely pure redecos of their US releases.

The Transformers Go! EZ Collection is also showcased. In addition to Smokescreen and Airachnid from the Beast Hunters Cyberverse the Reveal the Shield / Universe Legends Prowl, Optimus Prime, Starscream, Bumblebee, Hound and Megatron toys are being given a fresh release, some with more tweaks to their paint decos than others. Megatron is the stand out - he features a deco inspired by the unreleased Combat Hero Megatron redeco from Generation 2.

There is also some showcasing of the Generations Data Disks along with Masterpiece Prowl and Streak, but nothing that has not been seen previously.

Read on to check out our mirror of the images.

Hub Press Release with details of Beast Hunters Predacons Rising TV Movie
Posted by News Fetcher on March 20 '13 at 02:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
The Hub has put out a press release with details of their shows going forward (including airing "Wizards Vs Aliens" by former Doctor Who showrunner Russel T. Davis). This naturally includes some details of Transformers Prime. Coming in Fall 2013 is the conclusion of Beast Hunters, Predacons Rising. The 90 minute TV movie is described as an epilogue to the series that wraps up the story - which to this fan sounds suspiciously like it might well deal with any last major hanging plot threads.

Also a bit of news for Rescue Bots fans - season 2 is mentioned in the release as "premiering this winter".

Check out the full press release here. We've mirrored the Transformers-related portion below:

“Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising” (Hub Original Family Movie – Animated)

The eagerly anticipated conclusion of the CG animated Daytime Emmy® Award winning series will make its network television premiere as a Hub Original Family Movie. A 90-minute epilogue to the final season wraps up the series that chronicles the epic battle between the Decepticons and the Autobots in their mission to defend Earth and one day restore their home planet of Cybertron. Peter Cullen on Beast Hunters and Transformers 4
Posted by News Fetcher on March 20 '13 at 12:45 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
IGN has posted a short interview with the voice of Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen. There's some interesting response to the questions asked - Cullen refers to the new Predacon dragon villain, Predaking, as "phenomenal" - along with complements for his fellow cast members including Frank Welker and Steve Blum.

Where it gets interesting is the response to the question "Does this build toward a big finale for the Transformers story?" Peter Cullen replies 'I don’t think there’s ever going to be a big finale. I think, as all series go, it’s always a transformation – there’s a good word! – into another environment.' (He might, of course, be referring to the overall nature of the franchise and how each new series takes its own direction, and not necessarily Transformers Prime specifically)

On the subject of Transformers 4, Peter Cullen does not say much - other than confirming that yes, he will be a part of it and is very much looking forward to his involvement in the production.

Check out the full interview on IGN on the other side of this link.

2005 Boards member prime roller has shared with us a selection of images from a Taiwanese Transformers catalog. Among the sections in the catalog is an extensive Bot Shots section. Lots of new and upcoming releases are shown here including lots of ones we have not seen before. The scans include:

Single packs releases including Twinstrike (Sinnertwin), Stormrazor, Skywarp (new mold), Inferno (Sentinel Prime redeco in yellow), Hound (Ironhide redeco in green) and an all-new Megatron!

A clearer look at the Warpath launcher set.

Confirmation of a Scourge launcher set, based on Transformers Cybertron's Cryo Scourge deco.

New images of the Cliffjumper, Brawl & Dirt Boss (now renamed Breakdown?) and Bumblebee, Shockwave & Skyquake three packs.

More images of the three pack consisting of Kup (Spin shot Ironhide redeco), Scourge and Blitzwing (2012 Brawl redeco)

And to top it all off, a new three pack of Optimus Prime (Transformers Cybertron style), Cindersaur and a clear Super-Bot Jazz

Hit the discuss link to view all of prime roller's scans, including more scans showing the catalog pages covering Beast Hunters, Rescue Bots, Generations and Kre-O.

E-Hobby Classics Magnificus / Mebion Revealed
Posted by News Fetcher on March 20 '13 at 10:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Some sleuthing from Snakas has uncovered a fresh image of the E-Hobby Mebion / Magnificus that was teased yesterday. As speculated, the image confirms that what was being teased was a black, Decepticon version of Reveal the Shield Perceptor (complete with alternate, toy accurate head sculpt). According to Snakas, E-Hobby is due to start preorders on this item on March 26, with the preorder period closing at 12:00PM, May 8th. The release is priced at 5,500 yen.

Snakas urges just a little caution in his report though - the image of Mebion shown here was uncovered through manipulating the URL of yesterday's teaser image - so much like the Botcon 2010 Clench as Octane redeco, it could be a red herring. However we feel that the overwhelming balance of the evidence so far points to this being the genuine article.
