Transformers Prime Cyberverse Legion Prowl and Hun Grrr
Posted by News Fetcher on February 01 '13 at 05:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Japanese online retailer Red Mercury has posted some interesting pre-order pages. In addition to a page for the previously reported Beast Hunters Cyberverse Legion Soundwave, there are listings for a Legion Prowl and a Legion Hun Grrr. The listings specify they are imports i.e. not more Japanese releases, which suggests they are going to be released in the US.

Could these three toys be making up wave 2 of the Beast Hunters Cyberverse Legion, and if so, what will they look like? We might find out very soon at the US Toy Fair. One thing is for sure - with Twinstrike in wave 1 homaging Sinnertwin and now Hun Grrr, the Generation 1 Terrorcons have never known so much love!

Interview with John Barber and James Roberts
Posted by News Fetcher on February 01 '13 at 12:30 AM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
Last year, IDW Publishing relaunched the Transformers comics as we know them. Writer Mike Costa ended his run on the Transformers Ongoing comic and the Transformers comics were relaunched with two new titles; More Than Meets The Eye and Robots In Disguise. Two books, that over the last year, have revolutionized Transformers comics. This newsie will gushingly recommend, talk about and force these books down the the throats of Transformers fans as well as comic book bans. MultiversityComics has posted an extensive in depth interview with both writers of these books, John Barber (RID) and James Roberts (MTMTE). In this interview the writers discuss everything from how Hasbro has been a fantastic supporter of the books (sometimes asking the writers to push the envelope even further than they have), to how they became involved with the Transformers books, to their writing techniques. They even discuss what we have in store coming up! There is so much more that we can't even fit in this space, so please take the time to read this. If you haven't read either of these titles yet, seriously, what are you waiting for? You're missing out in the worst possible way.

Additionally, the second cover for More Than Meets The Eye #13 is revealed in this interview. The book is due in stores next week, February 6th. The most exciting part of this cover? It features Holomatter (aka hologram) avatars of Skids, Rung, Swerve, and Rewind. Ultra Magnus is also featured on the cover, using Verity Carlo as his avatar!

You can read the entire article at the link above. Check out the new cover and discuss everything by clicking the title bar.

Dubbed the Armageddon Upgrade Kit, the set includes several attachments, including Omega's iconic "wings". The set then unfolds into a familiar base and launch platform.

This is the first in Maketoy's Mega City bot series, but we have no information whether this line will strictly include accessories, or complete city-sized characters.

E-Hobby & TFCC VS-E Shattered Glass G1 Soundwave VS Blaster Set In-Hand
Posted by News Fetcher on January 29 '13 at 12:15 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Here's something cool for you to take a look at if the current Beast Hunters line just isn't your cup of tea. The E-Hobby and Transformers Collectors Club shared exclusive VS-E set has been released, and 2005 Boards member Masabon has it in-hand! The set takes Generation 1 toys Soundwave, Blaster and their cassettes Ramhorn, Eject, Rewind, Ratbat and Slugfest and redecos them as their Shattered Glass counterparts - the first Generation 1 toys to receive such treatment.

The set is out now in Japan, and hopefully that means those who ordered the set through the Transformers Collector's Club will also be able to lay hands on their very own set soon.

In the meantime, ease the pain of the wait by reading on and checking out Masabon's pictures!

By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
A pair of threads on the 78dm BBS site have given rise to some in-hand images of the two "bad guys" from Beast Hunters Deluxe Wave 2. There's a pair of images of the Deluxe Starscream, showing him in comparison with the First Edition Seeker mold in the form of Thundercracker and Skywarp. There's also a slightly more extensive look at the female Predacon Ripclaw, again showcasing her with other Prime toys. There's also further images available for the Starscream via HK-TF. We've mirrored a selection of the images with this story, open the links above to check out the original threads.

By way of ACtoys, we have a look at prototypes of the next release from third party group SXS Toys. They appear to be working on an accessory set for the MP-10 Masterpiece Optimus Prime Version 2, which so far is shown to include a rocket pack (from More than Meets the Eye Part 3 and Dinobot Island) as well as the oil pump accessory for Roller. The word is these are upscaled designs from the THS-02 Hybrid Style Convoy.

Collectors' Club Subscription Figure Update - Delayed Until April/Early May
Posted by News Fetcher on January 28 '13 at 06:45 PM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
The Official Transformers Collectors' Club has posted an update on their homepage regarding when we can start seeing the subscription figures start to ship out:

We apologize that it has taken so long to get back to all of you concerning the first ship date, but we have been waiting on our confirmation. There was an internal issue at Hasbro that has caused the figures' ship date to slip a fair amount. As of this week, Hasbro is telling us to expect the figures in late April/early May. We are sorry for the delay. Please know that we are pushing as hard as we can to get them here.

We will keep you updated and appreciate your patience!
