Transformers Prime Deluxe Frenzy Test-Shot Images
Posted by News Fetcher on December 22 '12 at 02:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
2005 Boards member Deceptigtar has shared with us some images of a test-shot of a heretofore unknown Transformers Prime toy release, Decepticon Frenzy. Frenzy is a red and black version of the Wave 5 Deluxe, Rumble, featuring the alternate head sculpt shown on Rumble's instructions. This test-shot suggests that a Hasbro version of Frenzy is potentially on the way, in addition to the red "Rumble" version coming out through Takara-Tomy in January. As always though take it with a pinch of salt, because we have seen test-shots in the past for toys that ended up not happening.

The main point to take from all of this is that Rumble's brother is at the very least planned for a release, somewhere up the pipeline.

Beast Hunters Deluxe Wave 1 and New Bot Shots 5 Packs Found at US Retail
Posted by News Fetcher on December 21 '12 at 07:45 PM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
The hunt is on! Literally! 2005 Board member Twincast has reported finding the first wave of the new Transformers Prime Beast Hunters deluxe figures at US retail. This first wave of deluxe Beast Hunters consists of Bumblebee, Wheeljack, Soundwave and Laserback and was found at a Toys R Us in California. Twincast has also been kind enough to share with us some in hand images of Wheeljack and Laserback. The bios for these two are also included with these pictures, but surprisingly, are featured on the instructions of the toys rather than on the back of the packaging.

Twincast also reports finding two previously unknown Bot Shots 5-packs. The Autobot Polar Assault Team (Optimus, Jetfire, Mirage, Ironhide and Bumblebee) and the Decepticon Stunticons (Motorbreath, Dead end, Dragstrip, Brake Neck and Breakdown). Both sets are repaints from previous Bot Shot release molds, but look fantastic in their new decos.

Check out all of the pics after the break!

Kre-O Micro Changers Combiners Predaking In-Hand Pictures
Posted by News Fetcher on December 21 '12 at 02:31 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
We can now share with you some in-hand pictures of the fourth of the four Kre-O Micro Changers Combiners, Predaking, by way of Fatguy's blog. Predaking makes his first combiner return since Generation 1 with this set, and the four Kreons in the set - Razorclaw, Divebomb, Torox (Headstrong) and Headlock (Tanturm) are all nicely done to recreate the original characters as minifigures. The fifth member of the team, Rampage, is getting a single release, and you can see a fan combination in these pictures which gives Predaking a bit more of a Generation 1 look using some of Rampage's parts.

Transformers Legends Mobile Game Event Harvest of the Insecticons
Posted by News Fetcher on December 21 '12 at 01:01 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Mobage's Transformers Legends game is having a special week-long event. During the event, titled Harvest of the Insecticons, there are a whole bunch of special rewards for you to enjoy and new challenges to face you.

The stars of the event are the Insecticons. By participating in the event, they may show up in gameplay as random encounter bosses to challenge your nine-card fighting deck. They start out easy enough but soon ratchet up the strength.

To aid you along the way there are some pretty serious rewards being offered by the game including new silver and gold warrior medals, which let you draw new cards from the Spacebridge, plus the event boss Insecticons give out lots of points and items that are otherwise hard to acquire in game. There's also a ranking system in play - the higher your rank by the end of the event, the bigger the rewards, with the top ranked players getting sets of the Insecticons' new tier 3 cards, their weapons, and more. There's also some new cards to be acquired in general play, including new cards of Hound and Mirage in both modes.

If you are playing Transformers Legends from Mobage check it out!

Prime Arms Micron Super Combo Weapon Combination Charts
Posted by News Fetcher on December 21 '12 at 12:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Takara-Tomy has updated their website over the last few days with a pair of combination charts for the Japanese Transformers Prime Arms Microns figures. The two charts - one for the Autobots and one for the Decepticons - demonstrates some of the main three Arms Micron Super Combo weapons. The pages also have links to some instruction scans for how to form the various weapons.

These two are worth bookmarking if you already have the Arms Micron Weapon series redecos of Microns like B.H., A.R.C. and C.L. and intend to snag the Advanced Star Saber and Gravity Planet Bow-Gun sets next month, because they set out some of the crazy combo weapons you will be able to form using the Microns in the sets.

Kre-O Beast Hunters Kreons Daniel Witwicky and Energon Kicker
Posted by News Fetcher on December 20 '12 at 11:45 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Walmart Canada have updated their site with the first two entries for the Kre-O Beast Hunters assortment - the Ripclaw Strike set and the Beast Blade Optimus Prime set. What is of interest is that the listings indicate the Kreons that come with these sets will have actual names (unlike earlier sets, where the Kreons were just "Stunt Driver" and so on). The names of the Kreons are Daniel Witwicky who comes with Ripclaw, and Energon Kicker who comes with Beast Blade Optimus Prime.

Don't get your hopes up too much though - previous pictures (one shown at left) and the box photo shows that Daniel Witwicky is just a generic military officer Kreon. We've no pictures of the Kicker but we assume he'll be the same. So right now, it is just using names to keep their trademarks alive. But who knows? Perhaps down the line, we'll see a real Daniel Witwicky or Energon Kicker Kreon.

Jack Reynor Lands Transformers 4 Role?
Posted by News Fetcher on December 20 '12 at 08:00 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Another news (or a rumor) has surfaced for Transformers 4.

IFTN is reporting that actor Jack Reynor is in TF4.

"Reynor, who auditioned for the part three times, was offered the lead by Bay himself after the ‘Armageddon’ filmmaker was impressed by Reynor’s performance in Irish feature ‘What Richard Did’.

Bay initially tested five actors for the part: Reynor, Luke Grimes, (Brothers & Sisters), Landon Liboiron (Terra Nova), Brenton Thwaites (Blue Lagoon: The Awakening) and Hunter Parrish (Weeds).

A source close to IFTN says Bay is keen for Paramount Pictures, which is financing the film, to agree with his casting decision, and an announcement is expected in the coming days."

Rescue Bots Energize Wave and Figure Two Packs Released in US
Posted by News Fetcher on December 19 '12 at 11:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
We are getting reports that there are some new entries from the Transformers Rescue Bots series making it to store shelves. The Rescue Bots Energize wave consists of new releases of earlier toys Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Heatwave and Chase in new decos featuring clear plastic parts and additional rescue gear accessories. The wave of four turned up at a Meijer store in Lincoln Park MI.

We have also had reports that the Rescue Bots packs consisting of a non-transforming Rescue Bot figure and a show-accurate member of the Burns Family packed in have been sighted at US retail. They've been found at the Charlotte NC Walmart and in Rural Valley PA too. It's worth bearing in mind if you are hunting for more Rescue Bots goodness for the younger fan (or the fan who is young at heart) this holiday season.

James Roberts More Than Meets the Eye Ongoing Interview
Posted by News Fetcher on December 19 '12 at 02:15 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
The official Transformers Facebook page has posted an interesting interview with James Roberts, the writer of IDW's More Than Meets the Eye ongoing. The interview covers James' favorite plots and some of the things that he considered his biggest challenges from "year one" of More Than Meets the Eye including the characters James loves writing - no surprise that Swerve is in there - and also the story that James considers to be his personal best.

There's also a tease on what we might expect coming up in the next few months with, as James Roberts puts it, "a Marvel UK style epic" concluding in issue #16, where "you may be saying goodbye to some characters and hello to others." He also teases that this epic should tie off some dangling threads from the first 12 issues.

Click here to check out the interview.

By ORIO from TFW2005:
Mech iDeas has revealed new official images of their Longblast Upgrade kit via their Facebook page. This kit will upgrade your Reveal the Shield Jazz figure into a Shockwave homage and includes; a mono-eyed head, weapon hand, decal sheet, a gun G1 Megatron gun and a mini G1 Shockwave gun. This is a great kit if you're a fan of Alternators Shockblast, 2012 Botcon Longarm or (if you're a fan of IDW's More Than Meets the Eye) if you desire to punish your figures through the ancient Cybertron act of empurata. Also shown in these pictures are photos of the miniature G1 guns being held by various figures including voyager Classics Prime and Mech iDeas upcoming Demoltion Crue figures.

2005 Board sponsors, Robot Kingdom, updated their Facebook page with two new photos for Unique Toys' Warlord Beasticon figures. These photos reveal to us two exciting things about this rapidly moving set. One, the leader of the pack, War Leo (aka Predacon Razorclaw) in his robot mode and two, a size comparison with TFC Toys' Stuctor and Voyager Classics Ultra Magnus. These photos confirm War Leo to be voyager sized, while the limbs of the combiner will be deluxe sized.

Check out the new images after the break.

Kre-O Micro Changers Combiners Bruticus In-Hand Pictures

By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
oscarfung of HK-TF strikes again, this time with an in-hand look at the Kre-O Micro Changers Combiners Bruticus set! Bruticus includes four Kreons and parts to form the combiner - the four Kreons being Onslaught, Swindle, Vortex and Brawl. The set looks like a lot of fun with there being parts to build Onslaught a trailer to carry one of the other Combati-kreons.

These pictures also show off how you can indeed combine Blast Off (who is being sold separately in a blind-bag in Wave 1 of the Micro Changers) with the other four Kreons to form a more Generation 1 feeling Bruticus using all five Combaticons! It's a fan mode, but this demonstrates that yes, it is very possible!
