TFW2005 Coverage Of Hasbro 2012 Q3 Earnings Call - Fate Of Transformers: Prime Series
Posted by News Fetcher on October 22 '12 at 09:00 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Here we are with TFW2005 Coverage of Hasbro 2012 3rd Quarter Earnings Conference Call.

Unfortunately, no major future plans were told about our beloved franchise, unlike last time. The reason for this may have been NYCC 2012 where Hasbro revealed much of their 2013 plans. Profits are down 4% last quarter and Hasbro wishes to return the “U.S. & Canada segment” to historical operating profit margins in the coming year. You can read all about this thanks to the Press Release our 2005 Boards member Hot Shot sharing with us.

However, there are things not written in black and white… things that may not look that big nor create a heavy impact. However, these little things matter to us; The Fans. What was said at the call will most definitely impact the current Transformers Animation Series; Transformers: Prime. What is it? Find out, after the jump.

Takara-Tomy Upcoming Transformers Releases Magazine Scans
Posted by News Fetcher on October 22 '12 at 12:15 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
By way of a Japanese image board we have a look at the November edition Japanese Hobby magazine scans. These pictures show a lot of Takara-Tomy's upcoming Transformers figures releases including the Masterpieces and November releases in the United EX and Prime Arms Micron lines.

Kicking off with the Transformers Prime news, there is our first look at Arms Micron Smokescreen, who is a white Knock Out retooled with a spoiler and probasbly a new head. He's not particularly show accurate but right now he's the only mainline Smokescreen toy out there. The Arms Micron Nemesis Prime and CyLAS Breakdown are also shown, black recolors of Arms Micron Optimus Prime and War Breakdown respectively. There's also a box out for the Transformers Prime Lucky Draws including the chrome First Edition Arcee, golden Arms Micron Optimus Prime and golden Hades (Darkness Megatron's bat Micron) plus two more previously unseen Arms Microns which we assume are to be runner-up prizes in a future campaign draw - a translucent blue plastic version of Bumblebee's B.2. and a similarly translucent blue version of Knock Out's Arms Micron crab Gra. Japan's release of Weaponizer Bumblebee with its own gray plastic B.2. plus the EZ Collection Autobot and Decepticon team sets round out the coverage on Prime toys.

On the United EX front, there is a fresh look at the third and so far final assortment of toys, including the Devastator colored Steamhammer Builder Master, the Autobot black Huffer / Crankcase recolor Assault Master, and the two pack of Tank Master and Marine Master.

In addition to all of this there is some coverage of the upcoming Masterpiece releases including the cassettes, Soundwave, Sideswipe and Red Alert, the Encore reissue Fortress Maximus and Devastator Animation Version, plus in a small boxout there is extra coverage of the Japanese Transformers Generations Fall of Cybertron releases.

Transformers United EX Weapons of a New Generation Story Chapter Translated
Posted by News Fetcher on October 21 '12 at 12:00 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Our fellow fans over at The Allspark have translated the next chapter of the Transformers United EX story. Chapter four is titled "Weapons of a New Generation" and comes with the Autobot Racemaster. The story chapter depicts a battle between the super-fast young Autobot and the Decepticon Combatmaster, previously revealed to be a reincarnated Decepticon Onslaught.

As with the previous chapters, the identities of the new characters - who are all going by codenames - is not fully spelled out. But hints are given - and reading the hints suggests that Racemaster is the Generation 2 Autobot, Rapido! Racemaster, like Rapido, is blessed with enhanced speed but also the ability to think calmly and clearly when moving at those high speeds. He's a new Autobot with great potential for future leadership (as seen by Rapido's G2 toy outranking Optimus Prime) and a penchant for slipping Spanish into his dialog. The title of the story, implying Racemaster is a part of a new generation (or "next / second generation") is the icing on the cake.

Posted by News Fetcher on October 21 '12 at 08:15 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Casting website Mandy.com has put out a casting call for Transformers 4, containing similar information to previous casting calls, with one additional detail - a filming location is given. According to the details they have posted, Transformers 4 will film at various overseas locations including London! Yes, in 2012 London hosted the Olympics, and in 2013 it will play host to Michael Bay shooting the fourth Transformers movie. It might not be on the same level but it is certainly going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

Keep it TFW for more Transformers 4 news.

Prime Arms Micron Orion Pax In Hand Images
Posted by News Fetcher on October 21 '12 at 03:15 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Alfes2000 has uploaded a gallery of the other Japanese store exclusive Transformer that has recently been released, Orion Pax. Marking the first-ever release of the Deluxe class First Edition mold in Japan, Orion does not feature the "mouthless" head, and is essentially a release of the Deluxe toy in more muted colors than the US one - just how much more muted can be appreciated when you see this side by side with the toy released in the US, particularly on the blue parts.

Orion Pax also comes with a gold chrome version of Ratchet's R.A. Arms Micron, a nice inclusion which looks very shiny but has no real story connection with Orion Pax.

Check out the full gallery here.

Possible Arms Micron Release for Weaponizer Bumblebee
Posted by News Fetcher on October 20 '12 at 10:15 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Autobase Aichi on Facebook has posted some new photos of one of the displays at the Dengeki 20th Anniversary Festival. The store exclusives display case showcases the recently released Arms Micron Thundercracker and Orion Pax, alongside a toy not previously confirmed for a Japanese release, Weaponizer Bumblebee.

On show in these pictures, Weaponizer Bumblebee is pictured with the blaster accessory from his US release in addition to the Japanese Arms Micron B.2., which has come with previous releases of Bumblebee in Japan. The toy does not seem to have any additional hardpoints molded on to attach Arms Microns compared to those already there on the US release. The toy's deco seems to be a lot shinier, like the shiny paints used on the Japanese release of Transformers Animated Bumblebee.

Given this is on display with other store exclusive releases from the Transformers Prime line, it is possible that this is a store exclusive release. We've not got any details one way or the other yet, so stay tuned for more news as it becomes available.

Transformers GT More Information - Three Super GT Transformers in the Works including Star Saber!

Shown off at Dengeki's 20th anniversary festival at Makuhari Messe convention centre are three variants on the remolded Alternity Convoy body type - one as Convoy / Optimus Prime himself, with a green and white version shown representing a Fortress Maximus Super GT and a Star Saber Super GT in blue. The names are apparently GT-R Prime, GT-R Maximus and GT-R Saber respectively.

Check out the images of Saber and Maximus by reading on with this story. There's also three girls pictured in the colors of the three robots - we're not sure if these are meant to be driver / partner figures a la the Binaltech Asterisk / Human Alliance series or merely a part of the series marketing and backstory.

Transformers GT More Information - Four Super GT Alternity Convoy Remolds in the Works
Posted by News Fetcher on October 19 '12 at 01:00 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Some additional information has been posted up about the upcoming Transformers GT series. We'd previously heard that Transformers GT would consist of the Alternity GTR Convoy remolded as the new Super GT. What we can now reveal is that there are four different Super GT Convoy, or Optimus Prime, variants in the works for this series. Check out the picture at left, shared with us by 2005 Boards member DrillBIT by way of Planet Iacon. The four cars pictured are the four variations - the red at top left is Convoy / Optimus Prime, the black one Black Convoy / Nemesis Prime, the blue and white one is Ultra Magnus, and the yellow one, making his debut as a non-convention exclusive, is said to be Toxitron!

Check out the picture of the four at left - and stay tuned for more information as Transformers GT is due to be exhibited this weekend in Japan at Dengeki's 20th anniversary festival at Makuhari Messe convention centre.

A reminder dear friends that tonight is the airing of episode 50 of Transformers Prime. The episode is called "Patch" and it's looking like a Decepticon centric story delving into the relationship between Megatron, Starscream and Dreadwing - with a decent helping of Knock Out so his fans don't feel left out either! Tune in to The Hub at 7pm ET to check it out, then share your thoughts in our episode discussion thread!
