A fresh update from TFcon by way of Peaugh is this new upgrade for the FansProject Steel Core to give him the head and chest of Transformers Armada Overload! We're not sure - yet - what the story is with these but we think they are probably connected to the extra core figures seen yesterday. These are only rough mockups, but they should give you an idea of yet another upcoming release from FansProject.

Collection Intervention New Series Premier August 14th On Syfy
Posted by News Fetcher on July 29 '12 at 07:45 AM
By DESTRO from TFW2005:
Collection Intervention follows Elyse Luray, former Head of the Collectibles Department at Christie's, as she helps couples, families and individuals whose pop-culture memorabilia collections from Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica to Catwoman and Barbie have become damaging obsessions, creating financial strife and a huge strain on their lives. Elyse will create a strategy that helps these collectors curate and showcase their collection by assessing where the true value lies and then allow them to decide what's worth keeping and what they can sell. These massive collections include dining rooms stuffed with 30,000 comic books, a garage filled to the rafters with Catwoman memorabilia, and an almost uninhabitable house filled with Transformers. For each collector, parting with some of their collection may free up some much needed space in their home, provide cash windfall to get out of debt, or even just allow a couple to become more focused on their relationship.

Heero Toys Maker WST Stepper / Ricochet
Posted by News Fetcher on July 29 '12 at 07:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Heero Toys Maker, maker of custom unofficial Worlds Smallest Transformers, has unveiled his next project, a custom Worlds Smallest Stepper / Ricochet. In Generation 1, Stepper was a remolded version of Jazz, so this version too copies the basic design and engineering of Jazz, but also adds in the additional molding to mount the Targetmaster partner, which is new to this variation of the design.

This is an unauthorised unofficial fan made product and is not endorsed by Hasbro or Takara-Tomy

Posted by News Fetcher on July 29 '12 at 04:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Here's one for those of you who are fans of season 3 of the original Generation 1 Transformers and are looking for a Spike or a Daniel for your collection - Takara-Tomy licensee CM's Corporation has your needs covered. Their next Transformers themed entry into the Guttu Kuru figure series was teased at the Summer Wonder Fesitval 2012 - check out the silhouette shown on Photozou here. The product is named "Excel Suit" which is probably a mistranslation of Exo-Suit. From the silhouettes to the left and the right, we can work out that those are Season 3 Spike and Daniel, with the one in the middle being their Exo-Suits, the domed transforming spacesuits as worn by both in Transformers the Movie.

Stay tuned for more news from the Summer Wonder Festival 2012!

TFcon 2012 Third Party Panel Coverage
Posted by News Fetcher on July 28 '12 at 11:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
By way of a complicated system involving Twitter, a carrier pigeon or two, and a chap named after a popular kind of cookie we are able to bring you coverage of the TFcon 2012 Third Party panel! Refresh this post for the latest news on what is in store from the Third Party Groups down the way.

First up is BTS Toys with their next production BTS-06 Nova Lord, 21 inches tall unofficial custom Overlord. Comes with both Powermasters. Test shot should be shown around about December.

More pictures of the Demolition Crue Apex & Geminus, aka unofficial Twin Twist and Top Spin from Mech Ideas. They also make some pretty cool Transformers themed iPhone cases.

A gray resin prototype of iGear's PP-04 Cliffjumper was shown.

Headrobots are making their first full Transformers project, Big Road aka Trailbreaker! This was shown before, now confirmed to be happening. Also shown is the Headrobots Iguana, still in the works.

No new announcements from TFC Toys or Dr Wu.

Hexatron from Mastermind Collectibles "has no firm release date, some time in the next year".

Mastermind Collectibles Hextron, Seekers and Lucky Draw Cyclops Images
Posted by News Fetcher on July 28 '12 at 11:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
A gallery of a whole bunch of upcoming Mastermind Collectibles has been posted over on Facebook. This lot includes:

- A look at the final test shot version of Hexatron in robot mode, complete with size comparisons. It's gigantic, towering over most other toys, level in height with Masterpiece Grimlock or Mastermind's own Knight Morpher Cyclops.

- Speaking of Knight Morpher Cyclops, a "Lucky Draw" version of Cyclops is also shown. This one is all in gray, presumably based on the Radioshack version of Generation 1 Shockwave.

- Last but by no means least the trio of Knight Morpher Seekers, Air Screech, Warper and Stormer are also on show. The trio are looking to be approaching their final stages, and like Hexatron size comparisons are shown. In terms of height, they are equal with the likes of Hasbro's own Generations Thundercracker or Classics Cyclonus, but their bulk (their huge wings mainly) makes them seem closer to a Voyager Class in scale.

Read on to check out our mirror of the images or view the original album on Facebook.

Maketoys Mobain TFcon Display Images
Posted by News Fetcher on July 28 '12 at 10:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
More third party news from TFcon, this time from the third party display. On display is the upcoming Maketoys Mobain unofficial Power Core Combiner styled version of The Fallen. The display doesn't show much of the main event instead focusing on the limbs, which work with regular Power Core Combiner Commanders and here show off a new feature where they can be configured in different ways to form different robot modes. Specifically the shoulder and leg units look to be capable of functioning either way round, and the forearms have some kind of similar trickery going on.

Stay tuned for more news from TFcon right here on TFW.

First look at Fansproject Menasor, Insecticon Repaints, Assaulter
Posted by News Fetcher on July 28 '12 at 06:00 AM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
Thanks to 2005 Board members Jarodimus and Peaugh who have tweeted and shared several new images of upcoming Fansproject releases from TFcon. First up we have two prototypes of bots that resemble Stunticons and, according to Peaugh, are from a combiner. This plays heavily into the rumor that Fansproject has a Menasor unofficial product in the works. As of yet, these not Stunticons do not have names. Also from Peaugh, we see repaints of Fansproject's Causality Insecticon figures in Generation 1 Deluxe Insecticon colors. Homages to Barrage, Chop Shop and Venom are shown. Next up, are pics of Assaulter. Fansproject's next Warbot figure who is a homage to Broadside. The figure has four modes and two faces.

Additionally, Fansproject's recently released original character, Steelcore, is shown with two repaints of his "powermaster" partner in orange and red.

Check out the pics by clicking the title bar!

Fansproject @ TFcon - Deluxe Insecticons, Menasor, Assaulter in Color
Posted by News Fetcher on July 28 '12 at 05:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
FansProject are on the scene at TFcon - and 2005 Boards member Peaugh via Twitter has been sharing with us some of the goodies that they have been showing off. Goddies such as:

Assaulter aka Broadside in color!

The three Insect ninjas (Thundershred, Backfirey and Stormbomb) remolded with new heads and weapons, and redecoed as the Deluxe Insecticons Chop Shop, Ransack and Barrage, respectively.

A tease at two more Steel Core... cores.

Our first look at the two next new molds from FansProject, a pair of car robots that look suspiciously like Stunticons - could this be the long-rumored FansProject Menasor?

From the information relayed by Robot Kingdom, we can report that these will be released in the fourth quarter 2012, and will feature goodies like LED light up eyes, rubber tyres, electroplated parts, interchangeable battle masked heads, optional hands and weapons for different display options. Optimus will stand at around 20 inches tall and Bumblebee at around 14 inches in height. The pricing on them is not confirmed, but indications given here suggest that Optimus Prime will be over $1000 and Bumblebee somewhere in the region of $900 - these are high end collectibles, based on the actual movie CGI, for serious collectors.
