TFW Transformers Prime Cyberverse Ultra Magnus, Skyquake & Nightwatch Optimus Prime Galleries
Posted by News Fetcher on November 08 '12 at 02:00 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
We've got three more galleries to share with you now! We are rounding out our gallery coverage of the Transformers Prime Cyberverse Commanders with a look at three of the four releases in Prime Cyberverse Commander Wave 3 and 4 - Nightwatch Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus and Skyquake!

All three are pretty cool little toys. Nightwatch Optimus Prime is a redeco of the initial Commander Optimus Prime release, and were it not for his faceplateless head would actually make a decent representation of Nemesis Prime with his overall more dull deco and yellow eyes. Ultra Magnus is a cool little robot, complete with his Magnus hammer, and an unfortunately exposure of his thighs in vehicle mode. Lastly Skyquake is an awesome redeco of Dreadwing, with new weapons, just like the character in the show. He's the first representation of the one-shot villain to get a toy, and he's a worthy addition.

Check out the galleries of the three by opening the links below:

Transformers Legends Mobile Game Starscream Artwork
Posted by News Fetcher on November 08 '12 at 01:00 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
The official Transformers Facebook page has posted the artwork of Starscream from the upcoming Transformers Legends game for mobile devices. The game, powered by Mobage, is currently taking pre-registration - find out more here. It is set to feature a wide variety of classic characters, all reimagined to varying degrees - Starscream as you might deduce from this art is more closely based on his Generation 1 toy, with the seam for his arms in his fuselage and the wing-mounted weapons featuring the same projectiles as his Generation 1 release.

CrazyDevy Predaking Thighs and Piranacon Feet
Posted by News Fetcher on November 08 '12 at 01:00 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
CrazyDevy have revealed their next two upgrade sets for the vintage Generation 1 Transformers combiners - some rather expensive new hips for Predaking, and new feet (on balljoints) for Piranacon. The picture for the Predaking set does not give much away about the new hips other than that they are bigger, but it does show the assembled upgrades on Predaking. Your mileage may vary on how much these kits are actually needed though.

Hasbro not in talks with Disney
Posted by News Fetcher on November 07 '12 at 12:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
On the back of the recent rumors that talks were underway between Hasbro and Disney about a possible Disney buyout of Hasbro, the Providence Journal reports a spike in Hasbro share prices. More importantly, there is also the closest we are likely to get to an official comment on matters right now:

Hasbro declined comment [in the Disney purchase rumor], citing its policy of not talking about rumor or speculation. CNBC analyst David Faber reported that Hasbro's advisors told him there's "absolutely nothing going on that they are aware of at all, in any way, shape or form" involving Hasbro or Disney.

Wall Street analysts said a Disney acquisition didn't make much sense, just after Disney agreed to buy Lucasfilm Ltd. for $4.05 billion. And for any deal to happen, Hasbro would have to dissolve agreements with Disney's competitors.

So there you have it. For now, consider the rumors of a Disney buyout debunked.

RUMOR - Disney In Talks To Purchase Hasbro Inc And Transformers
Posted by News Fetcher on November 05 '12 at 03:15 PM
By DESTRO from TFW2005:
This may turn out to be the biggest TRANSFORMERS news story of the year if it turns out to be true. The folks over MTV Geek have kicked up the rumor cloud surrounding Disney and it's recent use of purchasing power. This time Hasbro itself is in the crosshairs!

"By "Geek Spy"
OK folks, take this one with a grain of plastic for the time being. Unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve heard that Disney acquired Lucasfilm for roughly $4 billion last week and Marvel for around the same price a few years prior. Well, we have it on good authority that serious discussions are happening at the highest levels of both Disney and Hasbro to fold the largest toy and game company on the planet into the Mouse.

From what we’re told, these are still just discussions at this point, but serious enough that something could be announced at any time and create ripples throughout the entertainment industry. "

Maketoys Missile Launcher - Power Core Combiner Limbs
Posted by News Fetcher on November 05 '12 at 02:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
For a while now we've been hearing that Maketoys has a robot in production based on The Fallen, named Mobain. We'd seen that it had Power Core Combiner functionality, that the arms and legs could split off to form weapons systems or sets of limbs for the Power Core Combiners in their own right. Now it appears that Maketoys is splitting up the Mobain, with the limbs-tank being sold separately in two different decos. The set is named "Missile Launcher" and comes in "Jungle Type" green deco colored to match Power Core Combiners Heavy Tread, and "Marine Type" gray deco, ostensibly colored to match with Undertow. According to the linked pages on Big Bad Toy Store, they are going to retail at $54.99 and are due for a release in December.

There's still no word on the teased black deco or the release of the second tank that was shown in early pictures and presumably forms the core robot of the Mobain. One can assume from Maketoy's past form, though, that the core tank will be released separately and then a giftset - with the source-material accurate deco - will follow afterwards.
