The Voice of Bumblebee Speaks!
Posted by News Fetcher on October 09 '13 at 06:00 AM
By Tony_Bacala from TFW2005:
Will Friedle, a well known voice actor for such characters as Batman (Terry McGinnis) from Batman Beyond and Lion-O in the new Thundercats (and Blue Beetle and Deadpool and ...) - is now the voice of Bumblebee in Transformers Prime. That is one impressive list. He had a chance to sit down with Comicbook.com to talk about his late arrival to the Transformers universe and what it was like to voice Bee in the last couple episodes.
Quote:
ComicBook.com: What was it like coming on late and joining the show’s ensemble as it was a moving bus?

Will Friedle: It was incredible. It was one of those things where I joined in the last episode of the entire series and then did the movie afterwards. But I was a fan of not only the show but of the ensemble cast of actors for a long time. So being able to join playing anybody would have been amazing but getting to go and play Bumblebee was pretty incredible.

Being a fan of the show and a fan of the actors, I didn’t want to go in and screw it up. The last thing you want to do is go in and be the weak link on this fantastic show. Hopefully I did the character justice, and the movie–which comes out Tuesday on Blu-ray–is amazing. Just absolutely gorgeous if you’re an animation fan at all. It’s all state-of-the-art and it’s just beautiful from start to finish.

I started watching the original Transformers when I was a kid. It came out in ’84 and I was eight years old so I was watching every day, running home from school. So to be able to be involved was pretty incredible.
Check out a preview below, read the full article over on Comicbook.com and discuss on the forums!

Transformers Hybrid Style Convoy Black Version Asian Market Reissue
Posted by News Fetcher on October 08 '13 at 02:00 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store have listed preorders for a reissue of the THS-02B Hybrid Style Convoy Black Version. The Hybrid Style series was released originally in 2005-6 with small, die-cast versions of the then-current incarnation of Optimus Prime from Transformers Cybertron and a version of Generation 1 Optimus Prime, or Convoy as he was known at that time in Japan. The Hybrid Style Generation 1 Convoy would then go on to get a limited run redeco through E-Hobby, with a Generation 2 styled trailer and a black deco to match. By all accounts, that's what we're seeing a new release of here - the limited run black version. In order to distinguish this Asian Market re-release from the original E-Hobby exclusive one, the arms and legs are said to feature some gold paint applications.

Curious to see what the original version of the black Hybrid Style Convoy looks like? Be sure to check out our site gallery for a selection of photos of this very cool little high-end collectible.

Check out the listing on Big Bad Toy Store

Update - Robot Kingdom have also listed preorders.

Posted by News Fetcher on October 07 '13 at 09:15 PM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
Site sponsor, Bigbadtoystore, has added a new preorder for the next offering from Keith's Fantasy Club. Teased last month, this figure will be a reuse of their Mugan Scope aka unofficial Perceptor figure. This figure will feature a new head and paint to make him a new unofficial homage to Soundwave. The figure will also come with a new cassette mold, Badbat, based on Ratbat. The Ratbat figure does not fit within Mugan Vox's chest but looks pretty sharp none the less. This two pack will run you $100.00 and is scheduled for a release next month.

TFW2005's MP-17 Prowl Gallery Online!
Posted by News Fetcher on October 07 '13 at 04:30 PM
By Tony_Bacala from TFW2005:
The Masterpiece line continues this month with the release of MP-17 Prowl, another modern upgrade for a classic character. The figure utilizes a license from Nissan, formerly Datsun, for the Fairlady 280Z - the car the original Prowl G1 toy was originally based on. Sporting the Japanese police color scheme, Takara-Tomy fully keeps the essence of the original in both modes perfectly. Prowl is in scale with Masterpiece Optimus Prime (MP-10, v2) and Sideswipe / Red Alert - which should make any G1 fan looking for a beefed up 84/85 shelf happy.

We've shot over 70 images of MP-17 Prowl for you, feel free to check it out below. Some key shots are also attached to the story. Enjoy!

James Roberts and John Barber Talk Transformers Dark Cybertron
Posted by News Fetcher on October 05 '13 at 06:15 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Coming this November, the first major crossover of the two Transformers ongoing series Robots in Disguise and More than Meets the Eye kicks off. The event, named Dark Cybertron, promises to shake up the Transformers universe and leave lasting repercussions for the Cybertronians. Newsarama has posted up an interview with the two creators behind this event, James Roberts and John Barber. There is some talk of just what that means for the comics, and a few spoilers for recent Transformers comic stories, including the resolution of a plot point in More than Meets the Eye 21. Two key points to take from this interview though is that if you are not currently a follower of Transformers comics, Dark Cybertron #1 is a perfect jumping on point, containing all you need to know to get yourself up to speed, and also that James Roberts acknowledges that there are thousands of Transformers characters out there - and all of them have their own fans.

Even as Cybertron goes dark, the future for Transformers is bright. Check out the full interview (with preview artwork) on Newsarama.

Transformers Prime First Edition Deluxes including Cliffjumper Back at US Retail
Posted by News Fetcher on October 05 '13 at 04:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Multiple reports are coming to us that the Transformers Prime First Edition Deluxes are being found again at US retail. These deluxes were some of the last work of Transformers design team member Eric Siebenaler, and are regarded as some of the best representations of the characters available.

Notably, this release of First Edition Transformers Prime toys includes sightings of the Autobot Cliffjumper at US Toys R Us stores. When the First Edition Transformers Prime toys had their second run last year, the US got the zombified "Terrorcon" Cliffjumper rather than this original version of the character, who was previously only available in Asia, Japan and Canada. This marks the first time that this version of Cliffjumper with his show accurate flip-out arm cannons has been available at US retail. A big thanks to 2005 Boards members Rookbartley and Tracer for the heads up!

Still looking for some of the other First Edition Transformers Prime Deluxes? You might want to start hitting up Ross stores. 2005 Boards member soundwavempl of Bryan, TX reports seeing the Starscream, Arcee and Bumblebee First Edition figures in Ross for $5.99 - a great chance to add these three excellent Transformers toys to your collection for a bargain price.

Kre-O Predaking and Kreon Hound Customization Set
Posted by News Fetcher on October 05 '13 at 03:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
By way of a pair of listings on Amazon, we have learned that there are a pair of potential new Kre-O Transformers releases on the horizon. Amazon has placeholder pages up for an Autobot Hound Kreon Customization Set - suggesting further sets are planned beyond the initial six - and a Predaking Attack Set. As yet there are no details or pictures, and these might ultimately prove to be "phantom listings". If however they play out, it means we might be seeing new Kre-O build sets, and that the Kreon Hound, first seen at Botcon 2011, might finally see a release in some shape or form.

Watch this space for further details.

Constructbots Wave 2 Out Now
Posted by News Fetcher on October 04 '13 at 04:15 PM
By Shin Densetsu from TFW2005:
The 2nd wave of Transformers Constructbots has started to trickle into stores. JgarOptimus spotted the new wave of scouts(Bumblebee and Thundercracker) meanwhile I spotted the new Elites at a Walmart in Chesapeake VA. The new character in the 2nd wave of Elites is Hound followed by singular releases of Optimus Prime and Megatron. The latter 2 have swap their opaque armor from the Ultimate 2 pack for translucent pieces. However they lack most of the weapons from the 2 pack.

Happy hunting!
