E-Hobby Launches Youtube Channel - VS-E In-Hand / Unboxing Video
Posted by News Fetcher on January 28 '13 at 08:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
E-Hobby have launched an official Youtube channel, and to kick things off there, they have uploaded a video of the unboxing of the Shattered Glass Blaster VS Soundwave set. The set, VS-E, is a shared exclusive between E-Hobby and the Transformers Collectors Club. The video shows the set in its box, plus the contents in their inner tray and the other items in-box; frustratingly the toys themselves don't get a lot of focus in the video! Check it out below:

Transformers Masterpiece MP-19 Bluestreak
Posted by News Fetcher on January 28 '13 at 07:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
With the recent news that MP-17 would be Prowl and MP-18 would be Smokescreen, it seemed inevitable that the third of the Autobot Datsun Fairlady Z trio would get the Masterpiece treatment sooner or later, and the answer is: sooner! September 2013 will see the third Masterpiece release in as many months with MP-19 Bluestreak getting released that month. Like Prowl and Smokescreen, he's retailing for in the region of $79.99.

The only question that remains of course is which variant of Bluestreak shall it be, a toy accurate Silverstreak, an animation colors black roofed Bluestreak, or the more-likely-to-be-an-EHobby-release blue Bluestreak? Time and Japanese hobby magazine scans will tell.

In the mean time, please check out the preorder links for MP-19:

TFcon 2013 Charity Auction for Make-A-Wish Canada
Posted by News Fetcher on January 28 '13 at 06:45 AM
By Super_Megatron from TFW2005:
TFcon 2013 is pleased to announce that they will once again be hosting a charity auction for Make-A-Wish Canada on Saturday, July 27th, 2013. Last year TFcon raised $2705 in their first ever charity auction.

The charity auction will feature many great unique donations and we hope our community will help us raise as much as possible for the Make-A-Wish foundation. If you wish to donate an item for the auction please email the convention.

Make-A-Wish® Canada creates magical moments for children between the ages of 3 and 17, living with life threatening medical conditions, through granting a child’s one true wish. Make-A-Wish® strives to create hope, strength and joy by giving a child a much needed respite from being sick, allowing them to experience the wholesome enjoyment of just being a “kid” again.

Make-A-Wish impacts the lives of families when they need to know that their community cares about what they are going through, as their child battles for his or her life.

Make-A-Wish exists for one reason only – to grant wishes to children living with life-threatening medical conditions. Thanks for helping to share the power of a wish®!

TFcon – The world's largest fan-run Transformers convention will take place July 26th to 28th, 2013 in Toronto, Ontario at the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre.

TFcon 2013 hotel block is now available, the group rate is good for July 24 to July 31, 2013 at the price of $109 per room. No deposit is required to reserve your room now. You have until July 23rd to cancel your room if you can't make the convention.

TFW United Artfire (Million Publishing Exclusive) Gallery
Posted by News Fetcher on January 27 '13 at 09:30 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
It's time for the next gallery in our Transformers United toys galleries section - it's time for Artfire! Transformers United Artfire is a Million Publishing exclusive available only through a mail-in offer in the Transformers Generations 2012 book. He's a homage to the rare Japan-only character from Headmasters, Artfire, who was a white-cab version of Inferno with Targetmaster Scourge's partner Targetmaster figure. In that vein Transformers United Artfire is a redeco of Transformers Universe Inferno, but like the original Inferno, he has been remolded to incorporate the Targermasters - in this one's case, it is the inclusion of Solar Storm Grappel's crane in place of Inferno's water cannon, which allows Artfire to mount both his Targetmasters on the crane hook as a water cannon. That's right, Artfire is not just a homage to the original Artfire, he is also a homage to the second run "double Targetmasters" who could peg their weapons into one another.

As far as decos go, Artfire is fantastic. He's got a very sharp deco that flows nicely in both his modes, with lots of detailed paint applications making the finished article look just that little bit more awesome. The two Targetmasters included are Nightstick, a redeco of Universe Cyclonus' partner in a predominantly silver deco, and Sparks, a redeco of Power Core Combiners Pinpoint, the Mini-con who came with Leadfoot and had been previously been drawn as Artfire's partner Targetmaster by Guido Guidi in the Generations 2011 comic strip. Artfire makes an excellent companion piece to the Million Publishing 2011 mail in exclusive Stepper, and what is really great about this duo is not only that they are great toys in excellent decos, but in many ways they are the only ways some of us will get to own versions of the characters, particularly because in Artfire's case he has never seen a reissue.

Posted by News Fetcher on January 26 '13 at 12:15 PM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
TFW2005's sponsors (BBTS, Captured Prey and TFSource) have reached out to us today to let us know about a new 3rd party product preorder. Up for preorder now is Mastermind Creations Feral Rex Bovis. This unofficial figure pays homage to Generation 1 Tantrum and will join the other FeralCons to combine into the mighty Feral Rex! Preorder this week and save $15 off the MSRP. Early Bird Pricing Ends February 10th - Pricing will then revert to regular MSRP. Additionally, Cenokibble has updated us with more information on this upcoming project:

Some facts to clarify things and help avoid confusion. Please add to first post. Thanks.

Gestalt is 32cm tall from feet to head, excluding shoulders, backpack cannons etc...

All 5 figures will all be discounted 15%-20% for pre-orders

Pricing is based on the pack–in content and design of the figures: e.g. the leg members will have more parts, and Razorclaw is bigger.

Updated COMBINED mode picture incoming, hopefully this evening.

Also, sixth member is a figure...not sixth accessory. Full figure. New member, established character joins the team, with fiction to explain. Not needed for combined mode if you don't want to, but very cool.

Lock in your preorders below!

Posted by News Fetcher on January 26 '13 at 12:15 AM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
3rd Party group Fansproject has updated their website with SIX new upcoming products. Just the other day, we reported news from site sponsor, BBTS that preorder listings had gone up for X2 and X3. Those preorders have yet to go live for X2 and X3 (aka Weirdwolf and Brainstorm). Unfortunately, those particular pictures only show grey prototype pics of the wolf and jet modes respectively. Tonight, Fansproject has updated their website with new prototype pictures of X2 and X3 in both of their robot modes. Fansproject has also updated with several photos of the next entries into their Causality line. Specifically; Color photos of their unofficial Breakdown and Wildrider and prototype pictures of their unoffical Dead-End and Dragstrip (in vehicle mode only). Lots of super exciting stuff here.

By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Here is something cool for the "high rollers" among us collectors - for the price of $232.91 US plus shipping, you can own a set of special Transformers edition silver coins from the New Zealand mint. The special NZ $2 coins are 1oz Silver each, and feature Optimus Prime and Megatron on the tails side, and HM Queen Elizabeth II on the heads side. They're legal tender in New Zealand, but why would you want to spend these special pieces?

The page with the order details is here. According to the page, the coins have a limited edition mintage of 5,000 sets.

By Shin Densetsu from TFW2005:
Fellow TFW contributor Protoman has tweeted some new photos of the BTS Nova Lord prototype. Interestingly enough, parts of the jet mode are based on the Rise Of Cobra Night Raven from GI Joe. Modes are the following:

Jet

Boat

Robot
This triple changer is quite big, with Protoman chiming in the following:

Just to let you know.......

The robot mode is 18 inches tall. To give you an idea. Fortress Maximus is 23 inches tall.........

This is a big move on BTS' part, moving from trailers for Classics Prime to their 1st fully fledged figure, and a big triple changer at that!
