Rescue Bots Energize Wave Released in US
Posted by News Fetcher on December 19 '12 at 03:15 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
We are getting reports that there are some new entries from the Transformers Rescue Bots series making it to store shelves. The Rescue Bots Energize wave consists of new releases of earlier toys Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Heatwave and Chase in new decos featuring clear plastic parts and additional rescue gear accessories. The wave of four turned up at a Meijer store in Lincoln Park MI.

We have also had unconfirmed reports that the Rescue Bots packs consisting of a non-transforming Rescue Bot figure and a show-accurate member of the Burns Family packed in have been sighted at US retail. No proof of these yet beyond a few reports from members of our 2005 Boards, but worth bearing in mind if you are hunting for more Rescue Bots goodness for the younger fan (or the fan who is young at heart) this holiday season.

James Roberts More Than Meets the Eye Ongoing Interview
Posted by News Fetcher on December 19 '12 at 02:15 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
The official Transformers Facebook page has posted an interesting interview with James Roberts, the writer of IDW's More Than Meets the Eye ongoing. The interview covers James' favorite plots and some of the things that he considered his biggest challenges from "year one" of More Than Meets the Eye including the characters James loves writing - no surprise that Swerve is in there - and also the story that James considers to be his personal best.

There's also a tease on what we might expect coming up in the next few months with, as James Roberts puts it, "a Marvel UK style epic" concluding in issue #16, where "you may be saying goodbye to some characters and hello to others." He also teases that this epic should tie off some dangling threads from the first 12 issues.

Click here to check out the interview.

Kre-O Micro Changers Combiners Bruticus In-Hand Pictures
Posted by News Fetcher on December 18 '12 at 11:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
oscarfung of HK-TF strikes again, this time with an in-hand look at the Kre-O Micro Changers Combiners Bruticus set! Bruticus includes four Kreons and parts to form the combiner - the four Kreons being Onslaught, Swindle, Vortex and Brawl. The set looks like a lot of fun with there being parts to build Onslaught a trailer to carry one of the other Combati-kreons.

These pictures also show off how you can indeed combine Blast Off (who is being sold separately in a blind-bag in Wave 1 of the Micro Changers) with the other four Kreons to form a more Generation 1 feeling Bruticus using all five Combaticons! It's a fan mode, but this demonstrates that yes, it is very possible!

Transformers 4 Not Having Comic Book Adaptation, says Michael Bay
Posted by News Fetcher on December 18 '12 at 05:45 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Following on from his post yesterday about the leaked Transformers 4 script, Michael Bay posted a follow-up to the effect that he thinks the leaked script is a Hasbro treatment for an unrelated Transformers story - and in the process he apparently confirmed there would not be a movie adaptation comic for Transformers 4 "because we want to keep our story under wraps".

The full quote taken from Michael Bay's site is below:

P.S. I bet it is something from Hasbro. This time they are not doing a comic book of the movie because we want to keep our story under wraps. It must be their version of a comic themed Transformers story they are creating.

This might be a good thing, considering how many of us were spoiled on Dark of the Moon by Amazon posting major, major plot events from the movie adaptation comic online weeks before the movie's release. Hopefully there will be a few more surprises in store for Mr Bay and crew to surprise us with this time out.

Kre-O Micro Changers Combiners Superion and Devastator In-Hand Pictures
Posted by News Fetcher on December 17 '12 at 11:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
oscarfung of HK-TF has shared some very cool first looks with the fandom - our first proper in-hand look at the Kre-O Micro Changers Combiners Devastator and Superion. Each set comes with four Kreons who can transform between robot and alternate forms by rearranging their parts, or can be disassembled to form the larger combiner robot.

Of note in these pictures we also have a nice look at the four Kreons in the sets alongside the fifth member of the group, who is available separately in the Micro Changers blind-bag assortment Wave 1. The fifth member cannot combine with the other four by default, but where there's a creative fan, there's sure to be a way.

Transformers 4 Script Leaked?, Update From Michael Bay
Posted by News Fetcher on December 17 '12 at 10:45 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Take this with a grain of salt. Entertainment news site Unleash The Fan Boy is claiming that they have obtained a copy of the Transformers 4 Script.

We can’t prove the credibility of the news but it’s worth checking out if you are curious about Transformers 4 (and love to get spoiled).

Recently, Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles script was also leaked and the Director himself confirmed it is legit but that script was abandoned long ago. Plot leaks happened for all three previous Transformers movies... it wouldn't be a surprise if it happens for the 4th movie as well.

Good thing about this news is that we’ll probably hear a response from the director after awhile.

If you wish to read a summary of the supposedly leaked script, you can visit Unleash The Fan Boy.

Update - Director Michael Bay has updated his official website with the following message:

"Some Internet sites this morning reported that some document recovery guy has found a legitimate 120 page script of Transformers 4. I can absolutely 100 percent say this is completely false. The only two people in the world that have our unfinished script are Kruger and myself. Also we are only up to page 70 in our T4 script. Maybe this guy has a cartoon or something else – but definitely not our movie!"

There you have it folks. We may not have gotten a script, but at the end of the day received an update from the Director regarding the progress of Transformers 4.

TFW Generations Fall of Cybertron Soundwave with Laserbeak Gallery

By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
One more Transformers Fall of Cybertron toy gallery for you! This time we're spotlighting the Decepticon Communicator, Soundwave. There's not a lot to be said about Soundwave that has not already been said about Soundblaster, who is also out in the same assortment. He's a big, chunky toy - refreshingly reversing the trend of making the toys smaller / lighter, Soundwave feels a whole lot more solid than a few of the Prime Voyagers have done. Soundwave's built around his "deploy minions" gimmick, which is fun to do and works decently well.

What will ultimately be the make-or-break for many is that Soundwave is a built out of scale with the other War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron characters released so far - he needs to be for the Data Disk gimmick - although he is a very good size next to Classics Megatron, so there's always the possibility of having this be your Classics Soundwave. If you're a one deco only guy, you might well want to go for Soundblaster instead so you've got two different characters in your collection.

However you do it, I strongly recommend picking up one of the two, because he is a very good and solid toy, one of the best and most fun Voyagers to come along this year. Solidly recommended.

Transformers United Seekers Elites Gift Set In-Hand Image
Posted by News Fetcher on December 16 '12 at 03:00 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Evidently it's not just the Seeker Aces which are starting to get released in Asia, as the Singapore Transformers Fan Page Planet Iacon has posted up an in-hand (and in-package) shot of the Transformers United Seekers Elites set. This set contains the three "conehead" Seekers Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet. The three sport modified decos compared to their previous releases and together with the Seeker Aces set marks the first time all six of the Classics Seekers have been released under a single line with a single aesthetic (Transformers Henkei came close, but went with additional stripes in the vein of Classics for Dirge and Thrust).

Once again it's an Asia Exclusive release but if you want to fill out your Decepticon air forces the set can be acquired from many online retailers.

2005 Boards member D-Drive has passed along to us some information from the online version of Previews detailing some new releases in Wave 2 of the Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commanders. According to the listing, Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commander Wave 2 will add two new characters into the mix - Trailcutter (aka Trailbreaker) and Hardshell - the David Kaye voiced Insecticon who played a pivitol role in Toxicity and Hurt in Prime's second season.

There's no pictures as yet as the listing was accompanied by a picture of Wave 1's Bulkhead. Even so it's two more toys to look forward to including our first Prime series Insecticon.

The full text of the listing follows:

Upcoming Transformers Package Images including Beast Hunters Predaking
Posted by News Fetcher on December 16 '12 at 01:15 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Movie Replicas Direct has posted up some more listings for upcoming Transformers releases, complete with in package pictures. Headlining here is our first look at the Beast Hunters Predacon Leader Predaking in box - note that for Beast Hunters we are seeing a return to full-on squared boxes rather than the ones with angled corners we saw on the Prime and Fall of Cybertron Voyagers.

There's also a selection of Kre-Os in package. No new revelations on sets being released under the Kre-O Beast Hunters banner except that the Beast Blade Optimus Prime set will feature Optimus Prime and Laserback as a set of two - making this Laserback's second toy appearance.

By way of these listings and a pair of eBay auctions we have a look at the Rescue Bots "'bot and human" two packs in package.

Lastly on an aside those waiting for Beast Hunters might not have too long to wait, and 2005 Boards member Canonball reports that a Fred Meyer store in Portland, OR is putting out the shelf tags for Beast Hunters already.
