Rumor - Transformers Generations Upcoming Releases in Wal-Mart Computers?
Posted by News Fetcher on August 31 '13 at 10:00 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Chalk this up as a rumor for now as these might just be placeholders, but the Wal-Mart computer systems have a few new names down against the Transformers Generations Deluxe Assortment.

The four names are:

Rattrap
Nightbeat
Crosscut
Tankor

What lends credibility to the rumor is that Rattrap was name-dropped by Dark Cybertron co-writer James Roberts in an interview with Fullmetal Hero. As the current assortment of Generations are based on IDW comics characters, Nightbeat makes sense given his importance in previous story arcs. Crosscut in the past was the name of a redeco / remold of the Autobot, Skids - could this be a potential Skids remold? Tankor though we have no idea on - but that's the fun of speculation!

Watch this space for more news and future updates.

Generations Fall of Cybertron Starscream and Soundwave Clear Versions
Posted by News Fetcher on August 30 '13 at 03:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Ebay seller 366offer has posted up some auctions for some clear versions of the recent Generations Fall of Cybertron Starscream and Soundwave toys. These two are made entirely in clear plastic with a few white elements. We suspect they are either mold tests made at the Hasbro or Takara-Tomy factory to assess how the various moving parts that make up the two Transformers work together... or possibly a pair of "lunchtime specials", molds produced by the factory workers on the side in between their work on the main production runs.

In either event they are kind of cool, check them out!

Update - we are informed these are "lunchtime specials", that is, special runs made by factory workers on the side of the main production run. They are not prototypes.

Chevy Nova With Bumblebee Deco Sighted On Transformers 4 Set
Posted by News Fetcher on August 29 '13 at 07:15 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
New spy photos and videos from Transformers 4 indicate a scene where actors Mark Wahlberg and T. J. Miller interact with a Chevy Nova in a Bumblebee style deco.

However, despite Instagram hashtags, there is no evidence yet to support this is Bumblebee. A case against the theory is that there is a Driver visible (not a known cast member) with regular cloths on instead of the black suit worn for CGI removal.

This could very well be just a prop, but we can only tell what's what if an official announcement comes our way.

Calvin Johnson is a star wide receiver for the Detroit Lions. He was nicknamed Megatron due to his freakish athletic ability. Since hitting the NFL, he's signed with Nike, and Hasbro has embraced his Megatron monicker. Previously, they've released Calvin Johnson "Megatron" themed kicks and gear. Now, it seems that CJ81 is getting his own toy! Well, maybe. eBay seller lena81822 who is known for getting stuff in China very early, put up several auctions for a Generations Megatron Bomber (one out now), in a deco featuring Calvin Johnson's autograph, a football with a Decepticon symbol, and the G1 inspired gradient seen on CJ's previous Nike/TF sneaker releases.

This could have been a "lunch time special" by the guys at the factory in China, it could be a round of test shots done by Hasbro never to see the light of day,a very small batch could have been done for promotional purposes and these are the extras. Or, it could be the preview copies for a wide release. No one knows, but feel free to check out all the images over on eBay!

Charticon 2013 - Charity Auction Raises $3000+ for A Child's Place

By Superquad7 from TFW2005:
While Charticon 2013 just wrapped up a few weekends ago, there is still cool things happening as a result of Charlotte, North Carolina's inaugural, unofficial Transformers convention! One of the events at the convention was a charity auction for an organization named A Child's Place. TFW2005's own flywheels organized the Charticon 2013 Charity Auction, and several members here from TFW2005.COM also helped flywheels with the auction as well giving their own donations to the charity. Charticon and A Child's Place updated their Facebook pages with this:
Quote:
"The Charticon event raised more than $3,000 for A Child's Place. The event organizers were even kind enough to donate some Transformer toys to our client children too."
If you're curious, A Child's Place is an organization that "works to erase the impact of homelessness on children and their education." It strives to help "families [who] are the working poor. For them, homelessness is not a way of life; it’s a time in their lives. By minimizing the impact of this difficult time on the children and their academic growth, ACP contributes to their likelihood of breaking the cycle of poverty." For more information about A Child's Place, be sure to visit their Facebook page as well as their website!

Many thanks to all who donated and participated in the charity auction and the donation! A special "thank you" to Charticon 2013 guest and voice actor Hal Rayle for his wonderful work as the charity auction's auctioneer! You can check out photos of him in action after the jump!
