, the second book by author Alex Irvine chronicling the early days of the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, is out today! This book is the sequel to Transformers Exodus, which laid the groundwork for the new aligned continuity origin of Transformers Prime. Transformers Exiles carries on the saga, and promises to delve deeper into the mysteries of the original 13 Transformers, including Nexus, Solus and Vector Prime. The epic battles between Optimus Prime and Megatron have long thrilled Transformers fans. But these two giants weren’t always great leaders and bitter foes. This new novel continues the electrifying saga that started with Transformers: Exodus, unveiling the origins of the conflict—the explosive events that unfolded before Optimus and Megatron arrived Earthside, forever altering the destiny of their kind.
Once allies, Optimus and Megatron are now enemies in a civil war. To prevent Cybertron from falling into Megatron’s hands, Optimus jettisons the planet’s heart, the AllSpark, into space, then sets out to find it with Megatron hot on his heels. Optimus is determined to defeat Megatron, bring the AllSpark home, and restore Cybertron to its former glory.
But a saboteur lurks aboard Optimus’s spaceship, and ahead lie lost colonies, some of them hostile. Optimus needs help of the highest caliber, but from whom? Heroes such as Solus, Nexus, and Vector Prime are just names from make-believe stories of long ago. Or are they? Maybe it’s time for Optimus Prime to find out. Maybe it’s the only chance he has to vanquish mighty Megatron. Read Replies (0)

There is a lot of buzz about the New York Comic Convention coming up, especially in regards to Hasbro's involvement, both as being a newcomer to the convention as well as being a sponsor of the convention itself. Much speculation continues as to just exactly what Hasbro will unveil as well.
Tonight, we get our first glimpse into to some offerings from Hasbro with some exclusives offered at the convention. The first thing shown are two cups from the game Cuponk Hasbro introduced last year. The cups offered at the convention feature the classic Generation One
characters none other than Optimus Prime
. You can view both of them by checking out the attached image after the jump.
While San Diego Comic Con offered an Optimus Prime-themed NERF blaster, Hasbro follows suit with another such blaster (labeled as the "NERF N-Strike Barricade RV-10 Blaster"), this time featuring the fan-favorite Bumblebee!
Also, much like SDCC, if you find yourself wanting these exclusives but can't make it to the convention, Hasbro will be offering a limited quantity of the exclusives at HasbroToyShop.com the week of October 17.Read Replies (0)

In just a few short days TFW2005 will be holding it's first ever official "Member Meet Up" on October 8th, 2011 (that isn't attached to a Botcon, that is :)). This will be on a Saturday night, the night before New Jersey Collectors Con
in south New Jersey. It will take place at RED HOT & BLUE and starts at 8 PM. It is free for everyone, adults over 21 only (it is a bar). A live Blues band will be playing, the place serves food and it is a full service bar.
There will be door prizes given away throughout the night as well, in both Transformers and G.I. Joe flavors. Speaking of Joe, this isn't just for TFW2005, but the whole 2005 family, so HissTank and Toyark regulars will be in attendance too.
Also running during the party, for those that want to float around while drinking, will be the V.I.P. screening of a new G.I. Joe fan film, "Operation Retrieval". It will be on continuous loop all night in an area where you can hear it. You can see a trailer for it after the break.
So, if you are in the New York, New Jersey, Philly areas, try and come down the night before NJCC and hang out with the TFW2005 crew. It would be great to put faces to all those names! If it works out, we'll do more!New Jersey Collectors Con
takes place the next day, Sunday October 9th, 2011, in Cherry Hill New Jersey. Check the website for details.
See you all there!Read Replies (0)

Following on from our fresh look at the Maketoy Tanker Trailer
earlier, Maketoy have updated their website
with new images of Giant, including a clear look at the first of the six Giant members. Details on pricing, release and colors for Giant have been revealed.
The six tall smaller robots who make up Giant will be sold in packs of two, retailing for 10'500 yen. That works out at about $136 based on the current exchange rate. The first set of two is due out in December, with more releases to follow in January and February. A giftset containing all six releases is set for a February release, priced at 31'500 yen or $410.
The only kicker though - it'll be a yellow version, not the traditional Constructicon green. So for the moment Giant is going to be a Generation 2 unofficial Devastator.
Details have also been released for the Bomber and Hover mini robots, these are also confirmed to be in a pack of two and are slated for October. They are sized at 8cm tall and priced at 3'150 yen, or a little over $40.
Click on the link above for the original source and to check out the new Giant images. Note also the strange, Fallen-esque looking guy chilling in the back of the group shot. Hmmmm...Read Replies (0)
