TFcon Third Party Panel Correction
Posted by News Fetcher on August 06 '11 at 08:32 AM
By ORIO from TFW2005:
2005 Board member GMfan101 has stopped by to let us know of a correction at the 3rd Party Panel held this past weekend at TFcon. The picture at the right here of a third party Predacon Headstrong was believed to be coming from TFClub (Makers of the upcoming Hercules figure) but it is in fact, coming from Justitoys.

Could this be a concept sketch for a Worlds Smallest Transformers Predaking? Or maybe it's for something bigger?

Keep it here and we'll update you on when more news becomes available. In the meantime, his the discuss button to join in on the ongoing thread and share your opinions.

Fun Publications Concept Works
Posted by News Fetcher on August 05 '11 at 03:46 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Fun Publications have begun to share a series of assorted pieces of artwork and other goodies on their Deviant Art Gallery. There are some interesting pieces on there, but what stands out to me the most of what is there right now are these two pieces:

Fangry Pitch
First Aid Pitch

These two documents linked above are examples of the "pitch" documents produced by Fun Publications when they are suggesting the year's Transformers exclusives to Hasbro. They are a look at toys we never got and never will get, and present a view into the process of designing and producing a Botcon exclusive toy. Check them out, this is presumably how all Botcon exclusives start out, with photoshops and images of the original toys.

Other items of interest can be seen in the full gallery and these include concept sketches for Botcon 2007-9 Elita-1, an unused Transtech Depth Charge, comic pages without dialog balloons and a whole lot more. Check out the gallery, and check back often - more items are being added over the next few days according to Fun Publications.

Animated Menasor Official Head Design
Posted by News Fetcher on August 05 '11 at 09:15 AM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
There's been some buzz this past week about what Animated Menasor's head should look like, thanks to the G1Upper's Animated Menasor head sketches. Now we have a sketch from the man himself, Derrick J. Wyatt, of what he thinks Animated Menasor's head looks like. Given Derrick J. Wyatt worked with Fun Publications to design the Animated Stunticons, and was the character designer for Transformers Animated, this is as close to a canonical head design for Animated Menasor as we are ever likely to see.

Click on the link above to check it out - it's very different from the G1Upper designs, and blends in the classic Menasor helmet look with the modern Animated Motormaster facial hair.

Chevrolet Camaro Homecoming Weekend
Posted by News Fetcher on August 04 '11 at 11:31 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Richard Hammond of Top Gear once said… “If you are under 12 then this to you is Bumblebee from the Transformers movies and in a minute it is going to stand-up and throw an Oil Tanker at my face. But back in the 60s its grandfather was fighting the Cold-War”.

He was talking about the new Chevrolet Camaro. The car is now 45 years old, this September. Chevrolet is celebrating with this video featuring the Bumblebee/Transformers Edition Camaro.

It was doors wide open today at GM Canada's Oshawa Assembly Plant as over 2,000 enthusiasts from across Canada and the U.S. descended upon Oshawa to visit the home of the Chevrolet Camaro. On display was the Transformers Bumblebee Camaro.

Michael Bay’s Transformers Live Action Movie Series not only revived the franchise we all love but also revived the Camaro. As the trilogy ended we even said “Goodbye!” to the Hummer and the GMC Topkick (Ratchet and Ironhide respectively). Driving a good car, above all else… is fun. But this whole “look-back” experience is tinged with the knowledge that I’m writing about something that has ended.

What’s interesting is the Camaro Tagline: "The Camaro story has no ending. It's just beginning". What do you think of the car which gave life to movie Bumblebee? Leave a thought at 2005 Boards.

You’ll find some pics of the 45th Anniversary Chevy Camaro after the jump.
