It's time for a pinch of salt, as we have another Transformers 4 rumor from the Transformers Live Action Movie Blog that the next entry in the Transformers Live-Action film franchise will be returning to Chicago for filming.
"
It seems that Transformers franchise might be returning to Chicago. This weekend while in the city participating in an advance screening and doing press interviews to promote Broken City. Mark Wahlberg answered questions about Transformers 4. A source reports hearing that Wahlberg said he is house hunting for a rental to use while filming Transformers 4 in the Chicago area during the summer.
The idea really isn't much of a stretch as Michael Bay frequently praised the city when they hosted him while filming his huge scenes for Transformers: Dark of the Moon that often required him to alter and close many major streets. Since the fourth movie takes place 4 years after Dark of the Moon, its possible that the Decepticons are not yet done with the city or possibly fallout from the siege has a part in the film. No other details yet but hopefully learn more as the local press post their interviews closer to the January 18 release date of Broken City."
As with all movie rumors, please take any and all information prior to an official announcement with a grain of salt. Be sure to keep it here on TFW2005 as we bring you the latest Transformers news, including news for the upcoming movie, as it happens.

A poster on
ACToys has shared some images of the cross-sells on the bottom of the Beast Hunters Bulkhead and Smokescreen packaging which we saw yesterday. Alongside those two figures and Ripclaw, we have a look at the mystery fourth figure in the assortment whom we can confirm as a new, Deluxe class, version of Starscream! Beast Hunters Starscream like most of the rest of the returning characters features an armored, spikey new design, and seems a bit more squat than the usual tall, slender depiction of Prime Starscream (although it might be the photo angle). Starscream comes with what looks like a capture claw accessory, a long red weapon with silver claws at its tip.
This report comes to you via
Snakas & Autobase Aichi.

ACTOYS.net member sweet13524 has uploaded in-hand photos of the upcoming MP-16 Frenzy & Buzzsaw set.
As is evident from the photos, MP-16 comes in the standard black Takara Tomy Masterpiece box. Although we've seen the various accessories that are included with this set, including pile drivers and weapons for Frenzy, photos of the instructions reveal some details about the interaction between these cassette figures and the also soon-to-be-released
MP-13 Masterpiece Soundwave. Notably, Masterpiece Soundwave appears to have storage compartments for Frenzy's weapons, and he can mount the pile drivers on his arm as a double-barreled cannon.
Check out all the photos after the jump!

We'll kick off our 2013 gallery updates with a new toy of a character who is very dear to me - Grimlock!
Fall of Cybertron Grimlock is another one of those toys who occupies a happy medium between lines, blending with Classics, Fall of Cybertron or even Prime with varying degrees of success, and beyond all that, he's just plain awesome. He's tall in robot mode and imposing in dinosaur mode, with a gimmick that makes sense for the character and that does not get in the way of the rest of the toy's operation. Excellent poseability in robot mode is the icing on the cake. Some fans were disappointed that the original Classics Grimlock was, in their eyes, not a worthy update to Grimlock, well, thanks to Fall of Cybertron we now have a Grimlock who is a lot closer to the Generation 1 original, and nice and big to go with it.
What we have for you here is a nice extensive gallery showcasing Grimlock's dinosaur and robot modes, along with
comparisons with previous Grimlocks and a selection of images showing how Grimlock fits in with
other Fall of Cybertron toys, with
other Classics series characters, and
with Transformers Prime characters too, given that this version of Grimlock is presently playing a leading role in the Transformers Prime continuity "Rage of the Dinobots" comic.

2005 Boards member uranusdd has shared with us a look at the Transformers Platinum Edition Year of the Snake Energon
Optimus Prime and
Omega Supreme in their packaging. The packaging truly lives up to the "premium" billing these toys have received, with a nice red backdrop and gold foil effect combined with nice snake effects in traditional Chinese style in the shape of the Autobot sigil - and that is just the backdrop to the character art.
Check out the in-package image, attached to this story.

The
official Transformers Facebook page has posted a "beast" update of a different nature today. In 2013 the Transformers Collectors Club is introducing us to Beast Wars Shattered Glass - a new team of Maximals featuring some familiar faces and led by Ultra Mammoth (a reformatted Ultra Magnus) are up against tough odds. The story features the Autobot team led by Ultra Magnus on the Hyperion, previously seen in the Botcon 2007 Games of Deception comic. Notable Transformers fan Ben Yee had a hand in creating the story and calls it "a bit off-beat, but fun".
Visit the
Transformers Facebook page to check out the single page preview of the 2013 Transformers Collectors Club comic. And visit the
Transformers Collectors Club homepage to find out how to sign up for the club to get the comic as well as the membership exclusive pre-Beast Wars Depth Charge figure and that Botcon discount.

Official Transformers Facebook page continues, with our first official images of the
recently leaked Beast Hunters Deluxe Ripclaw, showing off her true colors, as well as giving a better look at her beast mode.
Ripclaw also bears a striking resemblence to Ser-Ket in the currently running IDW Transformers Prime: Rage of the Dinobots miniseries.
