Linkin Park Transformers: Dark of the Moon Iridescent Music Video Behind-The-Scenes
Posted by News Fetcher on April 18 '11 at 05:30 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
"All I know about the concept is that Joe Hahn (Linkin Park turntablist/frequent director) sent me an e-mail that said something about 'In the valley of the blind, the one-eyed man is king,' or something like that," singer/rapper Mike Shinoda laughed. "And the next thing I know, I've got horns growing out of my shoulders, and I've got one blind eye, and I've got a white dog and a snake on a throne made of antlers. I think you'd have to ask Joe what that all means."

That’s what Mr. Shinoda had to say about their upcoming music video featuring the single for Transformers: Dark of the Moon; Iridescent.

If this writer may comment on this… One eyed king, a throne and a snake? If you’ve been following the spoilers of Transformers 3 popping-up right here at TFW2005, it's not hard to imagine where this is going.

Check out the video below and read what Mike has to say at MTV.

NJCC Round Up - Barricade Vs Bumblebee(s) Photos
Posted by News Fetcher on April 18 '11 at 03:00 PM
By Tony_Bacala from TFW2005:
New Jersey Collectors Con was this past weekend in Cherry Hill New Jersey. Fans came out to buy, sell, hang out, dress up and have a good time. One special treat for those that attended was an appearance by Transformers Movie Barricade. This wasn't any old Replica though, this was the actual car from the movie. Given/sold to a car museum after the first movie was done, they then auctioned it off, and a collector purchased in the D.C. area. He was kind enough to come up to South Jersey and let the fans get up close an personal. He was met with Autobot resistance though...

Check out some pics of Barricade vs. the Bumblebees by reading the full story.

Check reaction of the show by reading the discussion thread here. If you attended and have any pics, make sure to post them in the thread too!

Dark of the Moon Shockwave Bio
Posted by News Fetcher on April 18 '11 at 01:15 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
2005 Boards member Megatroptimus has shared with us the bio of Dark of the Moon Shockwave. The Decepticon cyclops and lead villain of Transformers Dark of the Moon has a suitably awesome and evil bio to accompany his new toy:

Few have ever seen Shockwave and lived. This is the hand that ensures Decepticon plans remain secret from the Autobots. He eliminates evidence and witnesses with brutal, emotionless efficiency. The only hints he ever leaves of his presence are smoking craters and the collapsed tunnels through which he travels.

Awesome Dark of the Moon Shockwave image attached to this article taken by 2005 Boards member Lushkwok. Check out more of his photography and his thoughts on Shockwave here in our Transformers Feedback forum.

Dark of the Moon Leader Ironhide Pictorial Review
Posted by News Fetcher on April 17 '11 at 10:45 PM
By TM2 D-bot from TFW2005:
Board member alexcollier has just recieved a Leader Mech-Tech Ironhide from the upcoming Dark of the Moon toyline. Although it's speaker is currently inoperable and he cannot share any speech snippets, he did have some additional images to add and also some special features found:

The "special features present include-

-Hidden, pop-out guns on the forearms.
-Lower legs open up at the side which pops out a firing cannon on the left and a hunting style knife on the left.
-The face -plate can be raised or lowered by way of a lever on the back of the head. Unfortunately mine does not allow it to stay down. Pops right back up.

AND

-The entire abdomen opens up to reveal a spinning min-gun which spins by way of a lever. It is pretty damn cool.

Articulation is very good. The arms are very well articulated but the knees only bend 90 degrees.

Michael Bay Talks Transformers: Dark Of The Moon - The Complete Interview
Posted by News Fetcher on April 16 '11 at 12:30 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Yesterday by this time, we were bombarded with new info about Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

It all happened because of an interview session with the director Michael Bay.

There are lots of articles about the meet-up circulating out there. But, this particular article caught our attention.

Peter Sciretta of Slash Film has written the complete interview Bay had with the journalists… every single word.

“There’s a scene where she’s kidnapped and they go to Chicago, which they find at morning it’s been obliterated and surrounded by alien ships, and they’re kind of…he’s taking a small little group in to try to get her back. Then there’s the group of guys trying to come in and join some of our heroes on the ground. They’re kind of doing a conversion…they’re trying to sneak in low. They try to put some air power over here to distract the ships. There’s a scene where they’ve got some new robot tech…there’s like a cute character in the movie, a transformer, an autobot, and he’s invented this device, alien in nature, he’s given it to Shia. He gives him two things, like a stick bomb and this kind of grapple glove thing. And then we go to…there’s a section in a building where they’ve gone in and broken… a lot of buildings have been broken and shot up.”

What you just read is a sample. Read the complete interview at Slash Film. Don’t say we didn’t warn you… Spoilers!

Mike Shinoda Explains Why Iridescent Was Chosen For Transformers: Dark Of The Moon Soundtrack
Posted by News Fetcher on April 16 '11 at 10:15 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
There is a new video up at MTV called “Mike Shinoda Explains Why 'Iridescent'' Was Chosen For 'Transformers 3' Soundtrack”.

In the video, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park tells us the tale of their involvement with the third movie.

"We loved that part of it when we were in the studio, but Michael actually loved pairing it with the movie because there's something that he feels it speaks to about the story line." says Mr. Shinoda. "The 'Transformers' collaboration has been really fun for us. I mean, we grew up playing with the toys. When we first got approached on the first one, we said yes based on the idea of taking that thing that we loved so much and bringing it to life in a modern way. As it's gone on, that's still a big part of it for us."

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon Michael Bay Meet-Up Round-Up
Posted by News Fetcher on April 15 '11 at 08:00 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
For many months, Michael Bay Transformers Live Action Movie Fans were in deep depression. Why? It was because of the lack of news regarding the upcoming movie; Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Arguments broke out of nowhere, tension was running high and every time a new convention like Cinemacon or a Movie Award show goes live, fans were disappointed even further. New movie trailers for various movies such as Captain America, Fast Five and Thor were shown but not much of anything relating to Transformers 3.

Everything changed yesterday… everything. Michael Bay invited journalists to take a sneak peek look at what some called, this writer heard, as the greatest Bay movie yet.

Tons of articles showed-up on the Interweb (as Jeremy Clarkson would call it) filled with spoilers. TFW2005 Members shared these articles with their fellow members with great happiness.

As we thank our dear members, now it’s time to round these articles into a one big post. Feel free to add more articles to the thread connecting this News Post and we will add them to the News Post itself.

Take a look at the articles from around-the-world, after the jump.

More Transformers: Dark of the Moon Plot Details Revealed

By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
It’s non-stop Transformers: Dark of the Moon action happening right here at TFW2005.

This time we have another article by HitFix. You are warned… Spoilers!

"There was certainly an emphasis on introducing Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to us through a number of clips that played up the relationship between Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) and Carly (Huntington-Whiteley). When she ends up trapped in Chicago after it's been taken over by Decepticons, Sam has to go into the city to find her, setting off what looks like one of the wildest series of scenes that Bay's ever orchestrated, and he was given unprecedented access to the city's resources to help stage his invasion. The result is a sense of urban chaos that I've never seen staged on this scale.

And "scale" seems to be a big word for this film. We saw battle sequences set on the home planet of the Transformers. We saw a crazy accident on the moon, and we saw what happens when all the robots scattered there by that accident finally wake up. We saw a jaw-dropping sequence involving soldiers jumping out of a transport over the city and using cutting-edge flight suits to glide down to the ground, racing between buildings as they do. We saw a piece of a scene involving an attack on a skyscraper where the Decepticons appear to saw an entire building in half using a giant sandworm-looking robot that burrows deep into the building while the human heroes struggle to find a way to ride it out in the upper half of the building.

… looks like things get very personal for Sam in this one, and like he's learned some new tricks that help even the odds when he has to face the Decepticons. We saw a chunk of an alley fight between Starscream and Sam in which Sam reveals that he's been given some new weaponry, including a grapping gun glove of sorts that seems fairly effective."

New Transformers Dark Of The Moon Banner Revealed And Michael Bay Interview
Posted by News Fetcher on April 15 '11 at 10:00 AM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
This day just keeps getting better and better for Transformers: Dark of the Moon Fans.

We had trailer dates revealed by Mr. Michael Bay himself. Then a promo image of Sentinel Prime and now this… a new Transformers Dark Of The Moon Banner revealed featuring Optimus Prime.

The banner was posted at ComingSoon.net along with an interview with Michael Bay.

"This one is a more mature storyline, definitely darker, more emotional in the end. You feel the stakes are higher because it takes place in an American city. You're not disconnected with Egypt and the pyramids. I'm very happy with the movie," [Bay] says, touching lightly on the story we can expect to see. "It's a small group and you follow them. There's no cavalry coming. I've said this with Ehren, we were talking about concept, we used the term 'Black Hawk Down .' We try to make the cavalry unable to come. And it's more fun to watch our heroes in this epic ending with just a small group. It makes it more intimate."

Bay is hesitant to call the film "bigger," but everything we witnessed moments later in the Paramount theater screams "huge" (although we do understand what Bay meant story-wise). Of the nearly 20 minutes of footage shown to us (with an extra five shown in 3D), it's clear Bay is taking the series to new heights in every respect.

Unfortunately, we're not allowed to go into details, but we will say, it's merciless.
