Transformers United Grapple Images
Posted by News Fetcher on October 20 '10 at 12:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Amiami have also posted some new images of Transformers United Autobot Grapple! The differences between Takara-Tomy's United release and the upcoming Hasbro Solar Storm Grapple could not be more obvious - the Japanese version, pictured here, has an orange head! That's right, just like so many Japanese Henkei vs US Classics / Universe comparisons, Takara-Tomy will be adopting an animation accurate color scheme for their release, compared to the toy accurate color scheme on the Hasbro release?

Bumblebee Volkswagon New Beetle Custom Transformer may be Coming Soon from iGear
Posted by News Fetcher on October 20 '10 at 12:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Next up is this bizarre series of images, posted on Facebook by iGear. All that they have to say on the matter is interesting, but these five pictures speak volumes. What you are seeing is a custom third party unofficial version of Bumblebee, using design cues from his Classics and unreleased Alternators incarnation, with a vehicle mode based on the Volkswagon New Beetle. According to the first image, this will measure up at around 12 cm - or between 5 and 6 inches - tall, so about the height of your typical Deluxe Transformer.

Transformers United Drift Images
Posted by News Fetcher on October 20 '10 at 12:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
Amiami have updated with some new images of Transformers United's version of Autobot Drift! The Japanese release of Drift will feature a selection of minor tweaks, including a different tint to the blue plastic on his windows, additional gold paint details on the sides of his face and also on the chest, some extra white paint applications around the shoulders where the faction shields are located, and an overall more vibrant color scheme (unless that's the usual photoshop manipulation that I'm seeing)! Check out our mirror of the images by clicking on the title of this story.

A new image has appeared on ACToys.net of the second toy in the MGT female not-Transformers robot series. She is based on Firestar, a member of Elita-1's cadre of female Autobot guerillas fighting against Shockwave's domination of Cybertron in the classic Generation 1 cartoon episode "The Search for Alpha Trion".

No further details are available at this time, but if the first MGT release - Delicate Warrior aka Arcee - is anything to go by, expect this to be distributed as an iGear partner product and to cost somewhere in the region of $100.

Transformers: The Dark Of The Moon Filming Over?
Posted by News Fetcher on October 19 '10 at 07:30 PM
By NIBMRatchet from TFW2005:
Is the filming of Transformers: The Dark Of The Moon over? That is the question.

According to TFLAMB... “Even though current, but limited knowledge, indicates that Transformers: The Dark of the Moon is no longer filming in the states, the image (to the left) taken by Denise T. shows Ironhide and Ratchet as they were transported on Monday around noon through Phoenix, Arizona in Eastbound lane. More than likely the destination is wherever the TFs are stored when no longer being used for filming or promotional use but maybe more is being done in LA.

Perfect Effect Ultimate Form Four Pack and Scouting Force X
Posted by News Fetcher on October 19 '10 at 12:30 PM
By Sol Fury from TFW2005:
A pair of new images have surfaced, showing off some more of what Perfect Effect have in store in the coming months. The first image shows the PX-04 Ultimate Form group of Ejector, Rewinder, The Sun and The Night, based on Generation 1 Autobot cassettes Eject and Rewind, Kiss Players Position Sundor, and E-Hobby Cobalt Sentry Decepticon Howlback respectively.

Also shown is a thin strip of an image showing the feet of a set called Scouting Force X, with a wide variety of accessories. No idea what this one could be, but there's three sets of feet barely visible at the very top of the image, so at the very least it looks like some sort of team or three pack.

Shane McCarthy Shares Drift #1 Script - Microsoft Office Owners Rejoice
Posted by News Fetcher on October 18 '10 at 08:00 PM
By Kickback from TFW2005:
Shane McCarthy, that lovely fellow who wrote the critically acclaimed (both good and bad) All Hail Megatron series for IDW Publishing, as well as created the new Autobot character with the Decepticon background starring in his own Spotlight series, Drift, has done something pretty rare - he's decided to share the basic look of what a comic script looks like.

This is a rare treat for those fans who love to write fan-fiction or hope to someday write for a comic publisher. You can see that while Shane McCarthy does call for specifics in each panel, he leaves the artist plenty of freedom in designing the overall artwork in each panel.

KOToys have posted a selection of galleries of new toys over the past few days. Foremost among them is a gallery of Voyager Class Lugnut, who is an update of the Transformers Animated character crossed with a World War II / Cold War era flying fortress.

Also featured in this update is Voyager Class Strafe who is a redeco of Revenge of the Fallen Mindwipe / Tokyo Toy Show Dreadwing, inspired by the Generation 1 Strafe. These images show Strafe docked with Sunspot, which reveal that these two are not the dynamic pairing that Mindwipe and Skystalker were, although the colors still gel nicely.
