War for Cybertron Shockwave CGI Model

Gamestop have updated their preorder page for Transformers: War for Cybertron with an image of the preorder incentive Shockwave. This awesome reinterpretation of the original Generation 1 character sticks close to his roots, mixing a good deal of the old with the new. Check out a full sized image by clicking on the thumbnail to the left of this story.

War for Cybertron Shockwave is a special preorder incentive available by preordering War for Cybertron through Gamestop either online or in stores. He will be a playable character in the Escalation mode of the game's multiplayer mode.

Hasbro's 2009 Fourth Quarter Results Up Based on Demand for Transformers

Hasbro reported their Fourth Quarter (4Q) results for 2009 today, posting a stronger-than-expected quarterly profit on demand for toys tied to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and board games. Hasbro's fourth-quarter net profit rose to $165.6 million from $93.6 million in 4Q2008. Revenue from the boys' segment rose 16 percent in the quarter.

A pair of exclusive resin kits were released at Wonderfest 2010 yesterday. These limited edition third party items by A1 accurately recreate the onscreen appearances of (human form) Minerva and (Transformer form) Metalhawk from the 1988 Japan only series Transformers Super-God Masterforce!

Also available at Wonderfest 2010 were Jizaitoys latest offerings, Sixshot (with all seven, yes seven, modes represented) and Ultra Magnus.

Transformers Animated Japanese Packaging

Japanese toy blog Danny Choo has posted some images from Winter Wonder Festival 2010 showcasing the packaging for the upcoming Japanese release of Transformers Animated. The packaging for the single release deluxes can be seen - it is primarily red, with a face off between the facial profiles of Optimus Prime and Megatron. The VS packaging is also on show, which uses an open window box to show off both toys in robot mode with their heads turned toward each other.

Transformers Animated Allspark Almanac Volume 2 Confirmed

Jim Sorenson delivers some excellent news for all Transformers Animated fans! The Allspark Almanac will be getting a second volume, and it is now being solicited on Amazon! This second volume will serve as a companion to the show's third season much like how the first volume accompanied season 1 and 2 - so you can expect in-depth looks at all the many characters who showed up in the final season including the many cameos. And who knows, maybe we will even get a glimpse at what might have been had the series continued?

Transformers Prime To Be CG Animated

The Hollywood Reporter has posted an article about Transformers movie writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman's involvement with the new Transformers: Prime cartoon for The Hub. We reported their involvement with new projects for The Hub last November, however the news here is that like Beast Wars and other Transformers cartoons afterwards, Transformers Prime will be animated with computer graphics!

Power Core Combiner Aerialbots Team And More News From Nuremburg Toy Fair

2005 boards member Philister and his wife were in attendance at the Nuremburg Toy Fair, and has reported the following:

The RPMs line seems to a major success and there'll be lots of new products there. Apart from at least a dozen new RPM cars I've seen, there is a new race track / play set, titled "Bumblebee's Battle Track".

Additionally a new RPM subline called "Stealth Force" was introduced. This line consists of Voyager- and Deluxe-sized vehicles. They can't transform into robots, but they do electronically fold out weapons and other technical knick-knacks. Optimus Prime and Megatron come in Voyager-size, Bumblebee in Deluxe size.

Gamestop have updated their preorder page for Transformers: War for Cybertron to add details of an exclusive downloadable content / multiplayer unlock. On pre-ordering War for Cybertron with Gamestop either online or in stores, you will receive a code that will unlock Shockwave as a playable character in the Escalation mode of the game's multiplayer mode. Does the inclusion of Shockwave as an exclusive for preordering the game with Gamestop make you want to preorder the game there? Does this open the door for other characters being exclusive multiplayer unlocks for preordering at other stores? Custom Headmaster Serpent Head to be released

It is based on one of the many concept sketches of the additional Headmaster heads that never got much further than concepts. Some interesting news has surfaced for the Japanese dub of Transformers Animated, courtesy of Livejournal user toriaki. First of all, we have news on the Japanese dub's theme song, which will be sung by the one and only JAM Project! JAM Project is made up of several well-known vocalists including Masaaki Endoh and Hironobu Kageyama, the latter of whom has previously provided the opening, ending and insert songs to Japanese Transformers series The Headmasters and Beast Wars Metals.

Fansproject has released a series of new images through TFClub, showing the various accessories and weapons that will come with their two Crossfire sets. In addition to the all-new designs for the right arm and leg, there is a variety of weapons to arm your Combaticons to the teeth.

Also shown is the final combined mode of the Crossfire sets, revealing the full extent of the add-ons, replacing nearly 50% of the original combiner's body for a more Generation 1 style look.

Next Cartoon Series to be Called Transformers: Prime?

Through his webpage, actor Jeffrey Combs has announced that he will voice Ratchet in the upcoming Transformers cartoon that will air on The Hub (currently the Discover Kids channel) later this fall. The announcement states that the name of the new series will be Transformers: Prime and the first season will have 26 episodes. At this time, the title is neither confirmed nor is it know if the title is finalized.
