Artist Marcelo Matere has updated his deviantART blog with inked line art that was created for the packaging for the Transformers Universe two-pack of Victory Saber and Dessarus (better known as Deathsaurus). The two-pack was part of the last wave of Robot Heroes scheduled to be released in the Transformers Universe 2.0 line and was unfortunately cancelled. A packaged version of the two-pack did surface on the internet, which shows that another set of images was chosen to be included on the packaging instead of the ones shown here.

First Four Pages of Dreamwave's Unfinished Transformers #11 Revealed

Transformers artist Don Figueroa has updated his deviantART page with the first four pages of what would have been Dreamwave Production's Transformers #11. The issue was never released, as Dreamwave ceased operations in 2005. The pages illustrate that Issue #11 would have started with the development of the Autobot Moon Base on Cybertron and the continued development of the Quintesson/Fembot story.

Writer Shane McCarthy has updated his SMAcTALK blog with some additional details regarding the upcoming Drift mini-series that he will be writing for IDW Publishing. Along with glowing praise over the art from Alex Milne that he has seen thus far, Shane provided the following details regarding the story:

The mini series, as you would expect, deals with the origins of Drift, how he became a Decepticon and why he eventually decided to leave their ranks. Along the way we’ll be introduced to an exciting new angle to the IDW Transformers universe and learn just what’s up with all of those swords (especially when you could just have a good blaster at your side).

2005 Boards staff member SydneyY is reporting that he has received his shipping notification for the ToyHobby Market exclusive Transformers Henkei "Gentei" Dark Skyfire figure. The Japanese-only figure from TakaraTomy is now shipping within Japan to all indivudals who placed orders.

If you ordered this figure through an online retailer, look for them to have their stock in soon!

NEST Promotion Progress: Recon Ravage Checks Being Deposited

Multiple 2005 Boards members are reporting that their checks (to cover shipping & handling costs) for the Recon Ravage mail-away are being deposited by Figure Redemption Inc. (Hasbro's promotion handler) and that the checks are clearing members' banks.

While it doesn't necessarily mean that the Recon Ravage figure will be shipping immediately, it is definately a sign that the promotion is progessing and that the shipping date is drawing nearer.

Josh Duhamel Confirmed to Reprise Lennox Role in Transformers 3

Today it has been confirmed that Josh Duhamel will be returning as Major Lennox in Transformers 3.

Duhamel spoke with ComingSoon.net at the Las Vegas ShoWest convention today stating that he met with Michael Bay yesterday, and that the script is done and they are prepping to begin filming this summer. The third Transformers film is scheduled to hit theaters in July 2011.

IDW Publishing Achieves Premier Publisher Status with Diamond Comic Distributors

IDW Publishing, the producer of Transformers-branded comics, has issued a press release stating that Diamond Comic Distributors have awarded them Premier Publisher status. IDW becomes the first publisher to advance to the classifications since the inception of the class in 1996, joining Marvel, DC, Dark Horse and Image.

In April, Diamond's Previews catalog and PREVIEWSworld.com website will showcase IDW's new status as the publisher moves to the Premier Comics section. IDW receives an exclusive section in the front of the catalog each month, highlighting their new offerings to comic shop retailers and customers.

Diamond Comics Shipping List for March 24, 2010

Thanks to D-Drive, TFW2005 has a list of items to be shipped by Diamond Comic Distributors to comic book stores for release next Wednesday, March 24th. The following items will be available next Wednesday:

Last Stand of the Wreckers #3 (including 10-copy virgin incentive cover)
Nefarious #1 (including 10-copy Rood virgin incentive cover)
Movie Collection Volume 1 Hardcover

Please note that some comic book stores received Nefarious #1 this week, although the remainder of orders should be shipped for release on March 24th.

New Battle Ops Bumblebee Image Gallery

Although previously he brought us some packaged pictures, board member GenZhao now shares a gallery for the upcoming 2010 Transformers line release of Battle Ops Bumblebee. Significantly larger than even Leader Class Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime, this Bumblebee is a new mold featuring interactive lights and sounds in both modes. These will also change in robot mode when his battle mask is deployed, and also in his vehicle mode with the missile launchers flipped out.

We have images of two new interesting Transformers Animated products coming out of Japan. These new toys are Diablock Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. They look to be a building block style toy which can actually convert between vehicle and robot modes.

GMfan101 of Cybertron.CA has posted that the Toys R US exclusive Masterpiece Grimlock has shown up on the Canadian Toys R US computer system for a $69.99 price.

This is good news for our TFW2005 members living in Canada, as it means that this fan favorite toy should be showing up there and will not need to be imported.

Offroad Skids and Rally Mudflap Fast Action Battlers 2-Pack Images

RobotKingdom has posted up images for an upcoming Transformers ROTF Fast Action Battlers pack. The package appropriately pairs up Autobot twins, Mudflap and Skids in their new decos.

Don's update runs the gamut of his various Transformers related concepts, from unmade Classics designs like Cosmos and Hound, and Transformers GI Joe Crossover designs, through his designs for IDW's Stormbringer miniseries, right up to date with the concept artwork for the ongoing series featured on the variant covers of the ongoing and much more besides (like a look at Menasor from the ongoing series!)

These new images show the front, back, and side panels of the box, showing off the listing of this new Bumblebee's various gimmicks and features, including that he will say different phrases based on whether his battle mask is deployed or not.
