Shout! Factory Gauging Interest In Bringing Over Japanese Transformers Series To DVD
Posted by News Fetcher on February 01 '10 at 12:45 PM
By Shin Densetsu from TFW2005:
For fans of the Japanese Transformers cartoons, specifically:

Transformers Victory

Transformers Masterforce and others, we may have something to look forward to in the future! Shout! Factory is gauging interest in bringing over Japanese Transformers series to the US, according to a post in this thread by Brian Ward of Shout! Factory:

I was actually speaking to someone about this the other day. Obviously, we have a very good relationship with Hasbro and would like to pursue additional titles from their library. Without any promises, of course, are the Takara collections something you'd like to see on DVD in the States? I have all three of Metrodome's volumes, which run the gamut of quality, in terms of both animation and all-around storytelling. So is this collection, which has never officially been available in the U.S., something most Transformers fans would like to see done right? Or is it something aimed only at the hardest core fans?

Well, thanks to yizhi521 and S250 of our 2005 Boards, we can now confirm that this will be a single packed release - not a part of a two pack or a store exclusive - as a part of the upcoming "rebranded" Revenge of the Fallen line, in a yellow box like Battle Ops Bumblebee and Sea Spray. Here is another piece of history up for grabs on eBay for all Transformers fans! The original artwork for the cover to Marvel's Transformers Issue 76 has been listed on eBay by the artist himself Andy Wildman. This classic issue was the epilogue to the cataclysmic events of Transformers 75 as well as the beginning of the final arc that saw Grimlock undergo a bizarre transformation - a side effect of which was his body locking up as was the case on this cover. Also shown on this cover are the Dinobots Swoop and Snarl. Check out this piece of Transformers history and put in a bid if you want to own this classic artwork.
