Something else that is cool today.
Tower Records have produced a poster to advertise the re-release of the Blu Rays of the first four Transformers Movies in Japan. The ad shows the upcoming Caliber Optimus Prime from the Japanese The Last Knight toyline, armed with his Temenos Sword and clutching his Tower Records shopping bag. It’s a cool bit of advertising – check it out for yourself after the break.

Care of
Previews World, we have a look at a variant cover for the upcoming Revolutionaries issue 6. The cover, known as “Subscriber B”, features artwork by Tone Rodriguez and showcases the G.I. Joe team (including Skywarp) facing Action Man and Atomic Man. And if the solicit text is anything to go by, this leads to yet another character coming into the story – and, we suspect, the series takes a further step toward First Strike with it. Check out the cover attached to this post.

Hasbro’s official Youtube channel has posted a set of four cool and fun little videos. Collectively known as “Transformers Earth Adventures”, they not so much break the fourth wall as drive a Western Star or a Peterbilt truck through it. In fact, you could say they act out the silly battles we used to wage with our toys around the house when we were all kids! Check out the four shorts – Rake Escape, Swivel Fan, Autobot Rollout, and You’re Toast – after the break, and let yourself drift back to a simpler and more innocent time of life.

Agent Simmons once said “You gotta respect the Japanese; they know the way of the Samurai“. It so happens that Toys “R” Us Japan is sharing a rather cool toy commercial for Transformers: The Last Knight. Using stop motion animation, the narrator describes several notable figures from this year’s toyline for the movie. Transformers: The Last Knight (Toransufōmā Saigo no Kishi-ō / トランスフォーマー最後の騎士王) will hit Japanese theaters on August 4th.

FansToys is at it again, this time bringing us colored test shot images of their upcoming figure FT-22 Koot, a Masterpiece-styled homage to Kup, everyone’s favorite (or possibly second-favorite) grumpy old soldier. Koot is scaled to blend seamlessly into your Masterpiece collection and features a high level of articulation, impressively detailed and screen-accurate interchangeable faces, including one that gives him his signature cigar. He can be further customized with optional chest pieces to give your figure either a clear chest that showcases more of the finer details of the sculpt or an opaque chest for more cartoon-accuracy. He even comes with

As noted by The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, The Last Knight managed a #1 $69.1m U.S. domestic box office bow against no other new wide release competition this weekend. Its opening gross is below that of AOE and thus marks the lowest of the franchise. The Last Knight, which Paramount says cost $217 million to make before a major marketing spend, is the latest summer sequel to spring an oil leak, at least in the U.S., coming in 31 percent behind Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014). And it is the first Transformers movie not to open to $100 million or
